That's lovely! (Also, hi! Haven't seen you in a while.)

I remember doing Inktober way back in 2017-- in fact, that was when the pseudonym Shhh...Not Telling got its start! I didn't do Inktober in 2018, but I'm hoping to do it this year. Here's my title page.

Here's day 1, ring, part 1. I didn't like this very much (in fact, I almost didn't post it) but the idea was fun. I might add watercolor shading later, but this is it for now. Also, there's a weird line because I scanned it, but it actually spans two pages.

And here's day 1 part 2.

And last, but certainly not least (since I like it the most), today's prompt: mindless.

Here's to day two! Nice job to everyone who's done the ring prompt.
I really like Alizarine's fairy ring! The swatches for the ground is awesome. Did you use watercolor or something, Alizarine?
Hi Secret! Thanks for the compliments! I like your location. Don't worry, you don't have to be on top of it everyday. You don't even have to draw every prompt!
Leeli seems to be on the same wavelength as me, putting the ring on a chain. I love the shading!
Haikus are so cool! Yours totally nailed this one! Can't wait for more, Star!(dust)
Wow, you got a lot done, Starseeker! Your "ring" drawing for part one is definitely original. I find it interesting how there's only one item of color for part 2 and the mindless prompt.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to comment on everyone's piece every time, but I think feedback is super nice to get and very helpful!
Without further ado, here's my drawing for mindless. It's a bit shaky because I had to finish it in the car. I went for a more simplistic approach this time.

Aw, thanks! Actually I wanted to mess around with inking with a brush; so I blotted a bunch of ink out of my calligraphy pen into a pallete and tried to shade stuff with it. ;D

Day two—mindless. I’m really proud of this, I didn’t expect it to turn out!

Beautiful.

Thanks!

Day 2. I knew I wanted to do an inanimate object, but I had some trouble figuring out what, so I went with an old picture of some flowers.

The line variability here is so interesting, it makes the drawing so realistic, even unshaded.
Hi to you too! Sorry I've been scarce around here. Also, I think we have something to talk about again-- I'm up to episode 58 (as of writing this) of The Adventure Zone.
Here's my poem for yesterday, the prompt was mindless:
readjusting concentric circles,
everything's still buffering
(if i strung together everything i ever wrote
in the margins, what would i see?)
an echo rebounds over and over, filling the cavern--
a chorus of mockingjays.
a colossal (miniscule) game of telephone
people like parrots with their highlighter feathers,
emphasis on the wrong syllables.
someone says something sounding smart--
meaningless alliteration,
they smile but their eyes
and minds
are empty.

Thank you! I was wondering about that.
Very well, I forgive you. Episode 58, you say? You're almost there, then, 11 episodes left. That's awesome. I don't want to spoil anything, but oh my Claaws, isn't it great? What's your favorite arc so far? Mine might actually be the finale, but of course that'd be nothing without all the buildup, and I also really liked Petals to the Metal and Crystal Kingdom. What was your first impression of it all? Do you have a favorite character? When do you listen to it? I binged it once or twice while drawing over the summer. Funny how memories sometimes get locked into pictures...
I love that. The imagery, the rhythm, the conflicting messages. The only part that feels off at all is the ending. Or maybe I'm just thinking that because I didn't want it to end.

Day 3, bait! Inspired by the myth of Perseus and Andromeda.
