I wasn't going to join so I searched up Maut. The power of google translate. *grins*

*facepalms* I just got that I was killed by poisoned fingernails. Scratch my chloroform theory (no pun intended). Could be any number of fast-acting poisons.

So, the guests are Poison Shadeslayer, Kate-the-Great, Catsclaw, me (up until I died), Nymph, Marigold, Shy Peacock, Hotairballoon, and Spyro. So that's nine, now reduced to eight. The murderer won't be Catsclaw, HAB or Spyro; they're boys, and also Spyro is a dragon. We don't know if Chaan is a girl or not, but it's statistically likely. Of course, we also don't know in-lodge that the murderer is a girl. It's also not KTG, Nymph or Poison given where they were in the last update, but again, we don't know that in-lodge. Still, it leaves Shy Peacock, LilyPad, and maybe Chaan and Marigold. That's... actually very few.

Nymph, Poison, Kate, Catsclaw, HAB and Spyro probably all have alibis. We know where they were either at the approximate time of my death or the discovery of my body. That still doesn't eliminate Shy or LilyPad. Marigold and Chaan are witnesses to each other's whereabouts at the time of my death, too, but Marigold was supposed to be the murderer and Chaan has a dark side, courtesy of being our host. And whoever killed me doesn't remember it.

For my murder, the most probable perpetrators are Shy Peacock and LilyPad.

It's getting kind of tense here. Not very much, but people are freaking out about Viola? being dead. I guess it's uncomfortable to die. It's probably weird to have killed her, too. I think I would remember doing it. I think I'm going to find out who did, actually, and when I do, I'll... I don't actually know what you're supposed to do with the murderer if you catch them. I'll probably kill them. I wonder if they actually wanted to do it, or if they were possessed by something. I wouldn't be. But someone else might be weak enough.

Anyway, let's see. She died just a couple of hours ago, after I last saw her this morning, without enough time for rigor mortis to start up. A couple of hours ago I was mostly looking around by myself. I saw the other AE and his CBer on the top floor, the girl with frizzy hair on the second a little later. So it's probably none of them. I started hanging out with Poison pretty soon. I don't think it was her. That leaves... Who else is here? The dark cat boy, the blue haired girl, Shy Peacock, and the girl with the grass colors. I think I saw a couple of them around, but I wasn't paying attention.

I'll keep an eye out. Maybe more than one. Maybe I'll put out a lot of eyes, little ones in corners and stuff. Eh, but that would take a lot of my attention, and if I didn't give them all little brains to go with, the nerves would trip me up. There's stuff to do here. A lot of the structure itself is alive. And it's not like the deaths are permanent. But I guess it could be an insult. Wait, what if they were trying to taunt me? She really wanted to be in a ski lodge. What if they're trying to say my CBer is lame and so am I? Or what if they're trying to get a rise out of me? I don't get it. No one should want to incur my wrath. But normally they wouldn't go around killing people at a hotel, either.

Well, that ended up being a lot more than I meant to write. Anyway, I think I'm going to go start surveillance. Maybe I'll drop an eye on each floor, in really careful places, the kind with third eyelids and dark sclera. I might have to keep them closed a lot, but if I think something's up... Wait, ears! That's perfect! I'll give them ears, too, and just open them if I hear something! Yes. Great. I'm going to go do that. ...Hmm. Maybe I should lock this or something. 

~Nymph has now placed a sort of seal over our diary made out of a somewhat disturbing combination of flesh, nerves, bones, breathing apparatus and metal that only she can open and which I'd rather not think about, and hidden the thing. She'll melt through obstacles to get to it if she feels it move. Her plans are now safe. She's also planted little eyes, bat ears and brainlets in three locations throughout the lodge, one on each floor. I'm not sure exactly where; the layout is a bit of a mystery to me. Chaan can decide that, I guess. They have as good a view as possible of as much of each floor as possible while still being hidden from first and second glance, which is a lot, because they can see up to 280 degrees in pretty much any direction. They can't move, though. And they're not in the bathrooms. She doesn't want to see or hear anyone's business, although she's aware that this makes her more susceptible to not witnessing bathroom murders. She's got blind spots. She can only focus on two or three locations at a time, and moving around can break that focus. She'll have to eat slightly more and might get a little extra tired or distracted sometimes. But she's got better sensory coverage than probably any other guest. Shapeshifting ftw!

Please tell me this isn't going to die, too.

Yes, still on Day 1 because I write tiny parts, Part Three

*just as a note, all the things that happened in Part Two were not chronological or simultaneous. All things standing, it’s now around two pm.*

Chaan watched the CBers go about nervously, doing various things that would be expected after a murder. Checking the body, of course, talking anxiously about who did it, shapeshifting to have eyes on each floor of the ski lodge -and wondering who would be next.

But they couldn’t stay worried forever, and so one by one they dispersed and went to do the various activities and such in the treehouse. Chaan felt a little sad when they began to write what Viola? was doing and then realized she, well, wouldn’t be doing anything. 

Chaan started to cook, which took their mind off Viola? nicely. Soon they had some ramen and naan pizza made, and they called to their disguised AEs to put it out and tell the CBers lunch was ready. There wasn’t really much activities or other things going on, as it was the first day, though they did have to juggle some meetings and things- there was a book club around four, and a pie war at six. 

—time skip—

Chaan cleared up the pies with the (quite eager) help of their dog CAPTCHA. They looked worriedly at the gigantic dent in the wall, then shrugged. Someone else can fix that. Besides, this is basically the chaos room! It’ll be fine. Chaan licked their fingers and headed out to magic-spell dinner so everyone got what they wanted. The powers they got with being a Propieter were awesome... but for some reason, it always made them feel weird after they used them. Not that they were going to stop, anyhow. 

The ski lodge reminded them of playing Mafia at lunch with their friends. Chase would lean across the table and begin. “It was a dark and stormy night-“

“Sunny! Sunny!” Ruby would interject.

“I’m getting to that. It was a dark and stormy night- or, as Ruby would call it, a dark and sunny night.” Ruby would grin happily and try to steal Avery’s chair. “No one was awake- except a few people, standing in the woods. They had a plan, but they needed one person to carry it out. That person... was the Mafia.”

Chase would then sit up and say in a normal fashion, “and then everyone went to sleep, because that is a totally normal thing to do when you are threatened with death.”

The CBers were different from the Mafia townspeople, though. None of them were the Guardian Angel. And none of them were sleeping.
