Writing/Art Contest
There have been things like this in the past, and I decided to bring it back.
So, you will team up with a partner. Each pair will have one writer and one artist. The judge will give you a theme and a deadline. The writer will write a story or a poem (maximum 100 words) relating to the theme, and the artist will make a piece of art relating to the theme. It's nice if they go together, but they don't have to.
At the deadline, the judge will judge the entries. The winners will become the next judge.
The first theme is growing. You could try something about plants, or children, or science, or something else entirely.
The deadline is two and a half weeks from now, September 9. I know people's schools are starting, and you'll need to find your partners, so I can extend the deadline if needed.
Good luck, and have fun!

I won't seek anyone out, but I'm here if anyone needs me. I can also be a judge if you need any -

Here's my artwork!
Elena says rune! That's her third word!!
(September 10, 2017 - 4:20 pm)
Oh my goodness, congratulations Elena!! They grow up so fast.
I'll use this as inspiration for my writing - you said she has nature powers? Any preference for a name? Otherwise I might just run with where my imagination takes me. ;)

I did come up with the name Willow, but if you have any better ideas, feel free to use that!

(September 12, 2017 - 1:37 am)

Here's my writing to go with Lucy's beautiful artwork. Go team...Lucy Bear? It's exactly 200 words XD (per the rule change on page 4).
~
In the greenest of glens, tucked inside a curtain of leafy vines, and behind a great deal of messy plant dyes and painted rocks, lay a girl in the crook of a woven tree-hammock. Her name was Willow, and as her mother before her, she had been born in the wilderness. It was her home. Sadly, the forces of nature took Willow’s family away from her when she was eight, and she was left lonely. Her world became silent except the quiet, rustling song of the forest. But by the time she turned nine, she began to realize something about nature. It would do things for her if she asked politely. One time she scraped her knee, and without thinking she asked a nearby squirrel to bring her the healing echinacea flower. To her disappointment, the squirrel blinked and skittered away. Then she felt a strange tickle on her shoulder, and on the crown of her head. Willow looked up to find magenta petals fluttering around her, as if the breeze had heard her request and brought them to her. The warmth of the wind’s embrace felt like that of a good friend, and she knew she was not alone.

(Sorry for the kind of weird formatting...Does anyone know how this might have happened?)
I fixed it for you. Sometimes the format gets messed up when you copy and paste to Chatterbox. What I did (on my iMac) is to copy your document into TextEdit, then convert it to Plain Text.

I'm so sorry, but I have to drop out. I've had a really bad migraine for the past few days and have finally been able to at least read today so again I am so so sorry!!
(September 14, 2017 - 3:40 pm)
@Night
It's OK. I'm really busy and probably wouldn't have time to also. Sorry to hear about your migrane. Are you feeling better?
(September 14, 2017 - 10:45 pm)
I am a little, thanks for asking. Now my vision's pretty much good and it's mostly just a bad headache again so that's good.
(September 15, 2017 - 10:36 am)
I'm sorry, I probably just spelled your name wrong.
Now, the important part- perhaps Scylla could be your partner, if you would still like to do this?
@Nighthawk, I'm so sorry!
@Everyone, the deadline was today, but since there is only one entry in, I am extending it indefinitely. Please, please, please get them in as soon as you can.
(September 16, 2017 - 10:49 am)
@Kitten, is it too late to join? If so I can wait until the next round!
(September 16, 2017 - 9:51 pm)
I think both Scylla and Sagittarius are looking for partners, if either of them are interested in joining you. It may be too late to join this round, as the deadline is basically here, but you can totally join next round.
