Awesome song! Here's my poem.
Breath of The Forest
get
lost in the hymn of
the wild. Let yourself be
taken by the doves mourning
the loss of another
day, hear
the crickets' ancient
rhythm.
smell the violets and
feel the mud
between your toes. this
is the litany of
an ethereal haze, a
moment of clarity in a
cloud of fog.
taste
the dew forming on your
lips, breathe in the
forest and exhale
poison gas. walk the thin line between
adventure and
insanity and know that
both are beautiful.
and
crane your neck to
see the tall white
pines peircing a
pale
pink
sky.

Author's Note: I feel like this poem is really dumb and I'm going to regret posting it. You know that feeling when you read your old writing/look at your old art, and lose all confidence in your ability to do anything? Yeah...

untitled
I
fly high above
The treetops
Everything
forgotten
Except the present
Vision obscured
by a cloud,
I shiver
with delight,
Never wanting
To go back
I pet the scales of
the dragon below me
Tough,
Yet soft and smooth
She keeps me aloft,
From
free falling,
She flies around,
Her mammoth wings
Flapping.
Looking up,
I can see the stars above
me
Glittering, twinkling,
Pinpoints of light
In the inky sky
So far away,
Yet so close
As if I could reach out
And touch them,
Hold them in my hand
Keep them
As a light to guide
in the
dark
Looking down, I can
see the ocean
The reflection of the
full moon
Rippling
in the waves
The blue-black water
Splashing
against the rocks
Droplets flying,
soaring,
Falling
back into the sea.
Diving down,
The dragon’s paws
Glide in the water,
Leaving a wake.
The spray
Flies
Onto my face
Cold and stinging,
But I don’t care
The wind
Slaps
My face,
Making my eyes water.
I
Shout
In delight, the sound
Amplified
Echoing everywhere
The sun soon
Breaks
Through the night,
Casting
Light into every crevice,
So nothing is hidden
From its warmth.
Colors
Fill
The sky,
Pink,
Purple,
Orange.
I'm
filled
with peace.
the beauty of nature
calms
me, and even
as i climb off
my dragon and walk through
the forest,
back to my village,
i'm filled with courage
and happiness.

Soo the first thing I thought of when i heard this song was how to train your dragon, so i kind of wrote my poem based off the scene where Hiccup and Astrid ride Toothless together for the first time. Also I'm sorry this is so long, I wasn't planning on that.
Bluebird, I totally relate, i feel like that about my poem right now. But if it makes you feel any better, I love your poem. :)
One more thing: I apologize if the formatting on this is weird, I wrote this in Word and copied/pasted it into the comment box.

Thanks, Leafmist :) I love that scene in HTTYD.

o'er the hills & through the woods~
sometimes,
when i lie on a bed
of grass and daisies,
in the midst of green hills
and wooded forest
i remember
our daring escapades
battles fought on war fronts.
the jagged scar from
our skirmish with the creek
still haunts me
but now,
i remember
the faeries
we would fly
oh so far away
i wish we still could
spread our wings
and soar

My entry!! I'd love some critique, if you've got any!

I loved this song! Here was what I thought about it.
Breath of the Forest
by Adrian von Ziegler
You say
They aren't real.
You say
They don't exist
You say
"Scientific evidence has proven...."
I don't care
what
scientific evidence proves.
They are real.
Fairies.
Here
In this forest
They are.
Dancing in the
ring of magic,
they seem
more real
than
you
when you said
that they weren't.
All sorts of
Fairies-
big ones,
small ones.
All colors of the
Rainbow-
And many more
yet to be
Imagined.
Dancing,
Twirling,
Flitting
about without
a care in
the world
Beautiful....
and real.
CBers, if you submit song lyrics written by someone else, be sure to include the author/composer.
