#ASongAStoryContest

Hi guys! So I'm trying something new... it's a story contest! But not just any story contest. I pick a song, and all those who enter have to listen to the song, and write a story based on the name, emotions, and musical characteristics you feel in the song. Every story will be unique, and SOOOO much fun to read.

I, of course, will be judging, and if I could get two more people to volunteer to judge as well, that would be terrific.

And now... for the song! I will be choosing only instrumental songs, and if you search the song up as a music video, I ask you to try and not base the song off of the music VIDEO itself. Be creative! (Which I know you are. XD)

The first song is;

Drumroll, please!

Song of the Caged Bird by Lindsey Stirling! (If you don't know it, enter the song into a search bar and find it on youtube.

Deadline for the first story is... St. Patrick's Day! Have fun writing, and I hope to see your stories soon.

I'm SO sorry for not posting a story, I've been on vacation the past week and didn't have time! I'll post something for the next round.

This is a weird, dark little story, but it was fun to write. The quote at the begining is from Macbeth.

“Now I am cabined, cribbed, confined, bound to saucy doubts and fears.” I wasn’t always afraid of being alone. A moment of quiet loneliness was my solace, the calm in the eye of a wonderful whirling storm. I had no need to fear the dark, for the dark was my friend. Now every moment I am alone is a moment of torment. Every thought a painful memory. The night stars seem to scream at me, and I am bound to listen. They are all gone. My memory is the only remnant of their lives. I am the last one. The survivor. The torchbearer. I fear the dark, yet it is my only companion. I wander now, seeking courage, and finding only fear. I try to forget, to remember, to find the answers that have eluded me, yet I have discovered only one inexorable truth. I know that I can never truly leave the House of the Tenebras.
