ART POSTING

(Subject not going through....Third time's the charm...??)

Art stuff thread starting...NOW!  If you draw stuff, you can post it here! I draw in a sort of anime/manga/toon style, but if you don't, don't let that stop you from posting your stuff!  I would love to see other people's art so post away!  They can be OCs, fan art, or just random stuff.  You can use any media, including digital, like I do!  Just to let you chatterboxers know, I started this thread so we can share our tricks of the trade with each other.  Feel free to: ask questions about how to draw certain things, post techniques, share art, and mostly HAVE FUN!  If you draw your OCs, feel free to share information about them such as their names and that sort of thing.  Same goes for fan art since not all of us know where these characters are from.  You don't have to be polished with your art.  I myself am just a beginner at anime/manga/toon.  I'm not good at hands so if any of my hands looks particularly cruddy, you know why.  I also struggle sometimes with feet so same goes for that.  If any of you know how to draw a particularly good hand or foot, feel free to share your trick for it.

Going to post a picture of my OC, Tuxedo, if this post goes through okay.

Awesome drawing, Esquire! I really like his pose. For tips on drawing people (I don't know if you do this already but) #1- draw simple shapes like boxes and circle, or lines, first just kind of rough out where you want it. #2- looking at anatomy tutorials on the interent or studying a bit of anatomy really helps! Some important things I've learned are:

~the part of your neck that holds your head and neck together is very important, especially in profiles! It makes it easier to draw heads tilted in any direction. It's called the submaxillary triangle, I believe, or submandibular?

~in a profile drawing, if you divided the neck in half and took that line up, that's where the ear is

~arms aren't connected to the shoulder by just a straight line, I can't really explain it but if you look up a tutorial it will tell you how. Don't forget the armpit!

~elbows fall at the waist, when they are down/straight

~when drawing torsos I sketch a ribcage, it makes it easier for me. Also, hipbones are important, especially when drawing girls!

~necks are about as wide as the head from the front (necks are just really tricky tbh)

~There are different body shapes to help you sketch out- hourglass, pear, triangle, rectangle, oval, etc.

~there is an important muscle called the trapezius muscle that is important in drawing necks and arms. It can be more pronounced in men but women have it, too.

~when drawing hair, draw a hairline or a part, it helps.

#3- Compare proportions! There are about 7 1/2 to 8 heads in an adult body including the head, you can look up images to help with that.

#4- lines of action and body angles- it's so hard to explain this without pictures but lines of action will make your drawings much more lifelike.

I can't think of anything else on the top of my head.

I absolutely love it, Cockleburr! Reminds me that she has the power of creativity, and the world is trying to keep her anchored, unable to use it. Speaking of which, I am interviewing some people for my creativity blog, and I was wondering if you would like to be on there? You were one of the first I thought of because of your creativity in art, writing, etc. Just a thought!

Wow, that's a take on it I haven't heard or thought of before. Thank you for that, it's such an interesting feeling when someone makes you view your own art in a different light! Yeah, I'd love to be on your blog! Thank you for thinking of me, that's really sweet of you!

Emily from Goodbye, Stranger! I've recently fallen in love with this incredible book, so I drew several of the characters from it.

I was going to post some of my art on this thread, but I don't feel comfortable doing it any more, due to art theft, etc.

I know my art isn't that good, but if someone can copy someone else's art, I feel like anyone, not just my CB friends, could see mine...Sorry, I just don't feel like I should post it on here anymore.

Back in, oh, November or so, I doodled Eliza Hamilton and recently I decided to redraw it! Here are both versions, I hope the image isn't too big.

Angelica, and Eliza were both by his side when he died...

Sorry, I just had to. I absolutely love this, both versions! I feel your second one really captures her emotion and both are beautifully done. LOVE IT SO MUCH!! Even with the tears *Thinks of Act II*

Oohh, have you done any other Hamilton characters?
