You walk down

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

You walk down

You walk down the sidewalk to your mailbox. When you open it up you see a postcard from your aunt who lives in Hawaii, a bill for your parents, a magazine, and a letter with golden writing in a fine hand.  You take it out and see that your name is on the front. You tear it open and read

Dear Friend,

You have been selected from twenty others to come and spend the week in the newly opened library. It is a place full of magic and wonder that we are sure you will enjoy. Please pack a small bag but do not bring any books. They will be confiscated. Cbers, AEs and CAPATCHAs are welcome but only twenty can come.

Yours truly, Madame Librarian

P.S. We are not responsible for any injuries, deaths, or murders. Have a nice day.

You forget the last sentence and run inside to back your bags.

As you have gussed this is a Murder Mystery. And it takes place at a library. Only twenty people can come and AE'S and Capatchs are welcome. Please try to guess me.

@Scylla

The author of Lemoncello wrote a separate, unrelated book called The Island of Dr. Libris. Haven't read it, but my younger brother has, and he loved it.

The sequel to Lemoncello is different....it's actually a sequel......

@Madame Librarian

OMG THERE IS A SEQUEl?

What is it called?!

I think it's called Mr. Lemonochello's Library Olympics.

Day 1

After eating a good breakfast, the Cbers went out onto their lawns to wait. They didn't have to wait long. Out of the sky swooped a lady in white. She slid off something invisible and bowed. " Hello I am Madame Librarian. I believe that you received a letter telling you that you were invited to my Library?"

All the CBers nodded. "Good then. Please climb aboard." She waved her hand and jumped up onto something. "How do we get there?" Joss  asked. "Oh these are my thestrels. We are going to ride them there. I will have to make them visible."

Madame Librarian waved her hand and eighteen thestrels appeared. There were squeals of delight as everyone took off.

They flew for several hours. Madame led through and above the clouds most of the time. Finally they swooped through the clouds and saw a huge building on an island. They landed in a small courtyard with stables.

They dismounted and followed Madame through a small door. All except two. Horse Spirit Girl had stayed behind for one more moment to thank her thestrel. The murderer had slipped into the shadows as everyone had passed and now it came out. It had a sharp rock that it had found. It slipped behind Horse Spirit Girl and gashed her arm, then it slipped away.  A curious thestrel came and licked at the blood, then they all came out.

A few minutes later everybody came running out, looking for Horse Spirit Girl. They found nouting but a few thestrels licking the pavement. "The Murder has been here!" someone cried. Madame said nothing, she just nodded.

AND . . . AHA!

If I remember correctly, thestrals can only be seen by people who have seen death (I've only seen one HP movie), so Madam Librarian has been in a ski lodge before!

Clue #1!!!

Good work, Novelist! To M. Librarian, that was abrupt. Would you mind too much if I offered writing tips to you?

No Scylla I wouldn't mind, No I am not any of those people and yes I have been in a Ski Lodge before. I may even be one of you.  I am going to try to post everyother day.

Day 1 1/2

After the murder of Horse Spirit Girl, all the CBers were silent and somber as Madame Librarian led them up the marble staircase to there rooms.  Madame librarian opened a door that led to a long hallway with doors on eather side. She gave each CBer a key and told them to go to the door with there name on it. They opened there doors and immediately forgot all about Horse Spirit Girl. Each room had been designed to make the occupant completely at home.  HAB opened the door to Dolphin's room and Dolphine jump right out of her tank and into the large lap pool that took up most of the room.  Owlgirl let out a scream when she opened her door. Trees were growing through the floor and a green hammock was strung up in there boughs.  Pelucid's room was made completly out glass with a soft and comfy glass bed and a small glass hot tub.  Madame Librarian left everybody to unpack and prepare for supper, then she went to the top tower where she lived.

A few hours later everybody came down for supper. There was a small cáfe built with a beautlful view of the lake. After everyone had gotten what they wanted. Spyro had raided the cookies, Mrs. E was sipping tea and eating chocolat eclairs and Wingnut had just licked out a tin of sardines. Everybody was enjoying themselves and having a good time. Finally Mrs. E stood up and declared that she must go to bed. She left and a few minutes later the murderer followed in the shadows.

When Mrs. E arrived in her room she changed into a silk nightgown and lay down in her four poster bed. In a few seconds she was fast asleep. The murderer slipped into her bedroom using the spare key it had stolen from Madame Librarian's tower that afternoon. Once inside it stole up to Mrs. E's bed and sprinkled some powder it had found on  it.  The bed shook slightly and then it opened up a very wide mouth and swallowed Mrs. E. Nobody ever knew where she had gone.

R. I. B-  Rest in bed Mrs. E.

I belive you were in my ski lodge, because I detect some reminiscience of the deaths I created. Some writing tips:

Proofread your work before you post it. I found quite a few typos/misspellings in this most recent installation.

Always call the murderer an "it" because you just narrowed it down to a few suspects in calling it a "he."

Try to combine sentences when you can- yours are a bit short and short sentences get dull after a while. Perhaps don't make them as long as mine, for I am notorious for my rambling sentences, but at least try to combine a little. Action flows much more smoothly when sentences are combined (at least in my opinion)

Try to have a larger vocabulary, perhaps using more descriptive words.

Make lists updating us on who's died and who's still alive.

That's just a few things to work on, hope I don't sound too condescending. My journal entry:

3/12/16; 8:42 pm: Day I at the Library

I love my room! It's modeled after the rocky crags and ocean where Charybdis and I lived in the Sea of Monsters. I wish she was here, she'd love it. There's a soundtrack of a lulling orchestra (I don't know where it came from, all we heard in the SoM was screaming sailors as they died) but it's very pleasant and I think I will enjoy my time here. To help Madame Librarian, a description of me as I am in ski lodges:

I have long, shiny black hair, usually in a braid; a brilliant emerald green eye; various scars disfiguring face (one covers my left eye, so I only use the right eye), the most noticeable are the eye one and the long one from my ear to my chin; I usually wear a pair of denim jeans, powder-blue Converse, and a purple shirt; I'm about 4' 8"; and I have delicate, long-fingered hands.

What I think everyone is remembering is when an AE got eaten by a chair in Scylla's Prismarine story.

Yes, that was Critic A. And the chair turned carnivorous and ate Critic because of a powder.... Suspicious.....Well, I'm sure Sir Galahad would love to share other instruments of murder he used in his successful voyage at Resort d'Prismarine (the name varies.)

Hmm! That murder sounds familiar. I think I remember reading something like that on another ski lodge.

And did you say he? That reall narrows it down.

Also, are you Katydid?

Are you Shadow Dragon, Elvina, or Abigail? They were people that read my ski lodge to the end -- I'm seeing similarities with the carnivorous bed/chair and "You walk down"/"You stroll along" and that makes me think you were in mine.

Sorry Sorry Sorry. I really need to proof-read my work. I am sorrry I let you think the murderer was a he I have no idea who it is. I am picking random names every time I write a murder. I don't have any idea who the murderer is.

Also you gussed me, Scylla I am Elvina.
