Event 2: Prompted Short Stories.
Participants: We don't actually have a list for this one.
Story Theme: Something Odd on New Years Day
Rules: These stories must begin with one of the prompts below, with a maximum of 350 words. Using the charries from the First Event is encouraged, but not required. When you enter you should state what team you are in just to clarify.
Promts:
As the clock struck midnight.....
Yawning, ------ snuck out of the building, guided only by the full moon in the New Year's sky.
------- peered around the park in the faint dawn light and spotted......
Excitedly popping out of bed, ----- dressed quickly. It was New Year's!
Please tell me if I need to add more prompts! Also a question for Will or Scylla, can I judge this event since I am running it?

l'm joining! However, first, some questions.
1. How strictly do we have to base the story on the prompt?
2. Will the people who use their characters from event one be judged with a bias?
3. Eh, you do realize that 350 words make for a very short story, right? Normally l wouldn't have any objection to this, but most of the charrie sheets in event one bordered on 1,000 words and the judges didn't have any problem reading thorugh them, time wise.
And so l ask you, beg you, to please give us some breathing space and raise the limit to 900 words, At the very least. You do need a reasonable amount of words to formulate a good story.
Otherwise......l don't know if l'll be able to write something so ridiculously short. l can't cram all the story in 350 words, so thus l will drop out of this event.

This is the second event of the 2016 Chatterbox Olympics, and I you want to join you'll have to ask Will T to assign you to a team.

1. I would prefer if you could use the exact sentence.
2. Do you mean that charries from Event One would be judged on their scores from the previous event in mind?
3. Yeah, I know that it's pretty short and I can make it larger, but just remember it is a SHORT story contest. Scylla's original idea was 200 words but I changed it to 350 cause that's the limit for Cricket story entries. For you I will change it to 600 because I know how hard it is to fit stuff in there, but no more. Sorry.

You can submit your story anytime before Feb. 1st. If you are a little late, we will try to wait but we can't stop for too long it it will die.
