"COME BACK!!!"

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

"COME BACK!!!"

"COME BACK!!!" You cry tearfully as the dog wrenches his leash out of your hands. "COME BACK!!!" You yell again, soon realizing it's futile to yell any longer. That was your friend's uncle's friend's daughter's dog, and she had entrusted you complete care of him. You'd better start looking for him, then. As you call through the streets, you see a brown streak cross the road and head right for you! It's Marty! Except... what's that in his mouth?! It's the neighbor's cat! No, wait, it's just a cat-shaped note. Grabbing it, you unfurl it to see that it says,

Hello, person! You have been selected to come to our private farm for a relaxing, looong getaway from home. Don't bother signing in, just show up! Max visitors is 24; we'll close the gates when the quota is met. Pack your CAPTCHAs and AEs; we don't want to be bored, now do we? Just pack a few items, and your dog will show you the way!

The three ugly maids walked in holding three steaming pots of soup. The CBers rubbed their stomachs--they hadn't eaten since noon, and mirabile wasn't exactly filling.
The maids set down the soup and left the room. The CBers began to serve themselves.
The soup was made with beef broth, and had kale, lentils, potatoes, and beef in it. The veggie-hating AEs even found themselves enjoying the greens in the soup.
"So, CBers, how was your first day at training?" the farmer asked.
The CBers grimaced. "It was...er...great.......... ," they said unenthusiastically.
"I know, it was hard," the farmer continued, "but it taught you a lot!"
The CBers still didn't look any more elated. "Well, it's time for another meeting. It'll be best if we have meetings twice every day. Or even more. Today you learned a lot. We need to take action soon, like, by tomorrow. We need to go find things to make armor out of. Any ideas?"
The CBers thought hard. "If any of you have ideas, come to me after dinner for a private audience. I need to hear the plans before the murderer does. Also, you can sign up for special groups after dinner, too. So, keep that in mind as I bring up new topics.
"We need to think of battle plans, too, and remember, we need to think of a way to meet with the ghosts..."
The farmer went over some maps, and dismissed the CBers. The first CBer to go back to the farmer's room was Poetic Panda, with an idea for armor. The rest of the CBers watched T.V. to clear their brains of the confusing instructions.
---------------------------------------
That night, the murderer lay in her bed. Princess Icicle snored softly above her. She thought of the previous night's events. Her eyes flashed open and her nostrils flared. No one knew...No one could know...Not until she'd saved her friends...What could she do...The liar...Her mind whirled with angry thoughts. Why? Why? He was good! Her head could not contain the ideas and thoughts that ran through her head. She knew a better way to express herself. Tomorrow--she'd finally do it. She'd balked at first at what she knew she had to do, but now--now, the anger and the bond she shared made her feel certain that she would do it. She had to. She had to. She had to.

Day 10~
----------------------------
The CBers woke up--as I'm sure you could've guessed--the next morning. They stretched, rubbed their sore arms, and hopped out of bed.
Meeting at the dining room table, the CBers, CAPTCHAs, and AEs began to talk about stuff--stuff like training; what their favorite bird was; their favorite activity; their favorite weapon, etc. The farmer and his assistant had yet to arrive, and the maids were cooking breakfast, so the CBers could speak freely with each other.
"I love love love training animals!" Spyro said enthusiastically.
"You're really good at it," Poetic Panda told him.
"Hah, thanks."
"Jack says he wants to get a closer look at your bird," said Moonfrost suddenly.
"How can a sword even see?" Poetic Panda asked.
"He says he can sort of see what I'm seeing."
"I suppose it's the same way with hearing," Panda speculated.
"Yup, and tasting and feeling and pretty much everything. Except, he (thankfully) can't read my thoughts. Here, he wants me to quote him word for word this time. Okay, Jack, I'm going, be patient! Here: 'Hey, I thought you said I could look at that bird.'"
Spyro took his bird off of his shoulder, and Moonfrost held Jack up to General Firecracker. The CBers could feel a strange, mild energy buzzing through the air, as if Jack could broadcast his happiness into the atmosphere.
"Wow, you two will be awesome in the army," Poetic Panda told General Firecracker and Jack. The buzzing energy began again. "An enchanted sword and an awesome, er, cockatoo!"
General Firecracker blinked at her slowly.
"Um, anyway, I can't wait to get started doing missions and stuff! Does anyone else feel excited?"
"Yeah!!!" Rufus yelled.
"Yeah to what?"
The CBers looked around, and saw that the farmer had shuffled in.
"Oh, to begin our missions," Panda repeated.
"Ah, yes!" the farmer replied. "We begin as soon as we can, today! You will all be sharing tasks today, but by as early as tomorrow you will all be assigned to specific slots in the army." The farmer stretched his arms, and took his seat at the head of the table. He blinked a few times; he had obviously just woken up.
"Poetic Panda has had an excellent idea, which she shared with me last night," the farmer began. He looked up and the CBers saw the maids bringing in pancakes. The farmer continued while the maids set out their breakfast. "She suggested we go to the barn and order the dragons to begin making armor. We should have an armor fitting after breakfast. And, from the safety of the mines, my assistant has had another idea, which I originally didn't intend to do, but now agree that it is indeed a good idea. I'll tell you during our animal training session later today. But enough of that," the farmer scolded himself. "Let's talk about normal stuff."
Turgon had an idiotic grin on his face and it looked like someone had cinched his cheeks together. It was apparent that he was very, completely, extremely excited about--let me guess--his dragon egg.
"MMMMMMY dragon egg is hatching!!!" Turgon said, beginning in a squeal and ending in a controlled, 'calm' voice. (Not really!)
"Yeah, Turgon, we know," Dragonrider reminded her AE.
"N-No, I mean she's--her egg--it's getting more cracked!!!"
"Really? That's great!" said the farmer's assistant. She had just walked in. Why had she slept so late? She was usually the first one up. The CBers assumed it was because they'd worked so hard the previous day. "By how much?" she asked.
Turgon smiled before continuing. He must've thought it was dramatic, but really it was just annoying watching him grin for a whole forty-five seconds. I'm serious. "Another half-inch."
The table groaned.
