SHAKESPEARE!
SHAKESPEARE!
I have this insane obsession with Shakespeare, and want to know if anyone else does. Here you can post your favorite plays, characters, and other random stuff like that.
My favorite play is 'Much Ado About Nothing', and my favorite characters in it are Benadick and Beatrice.

My friend Cate and I once tried writing about sciency things in the language of Shakespeare. It turned out very weird!!

What kind of sciency things? Or, rather, "What devious scientific plans dost thou and thy comrade devise?"

That was what we were learning about at the time.

On the subject of modern-day things in Shakespearean language and iambic pentameter, I actually found a book that was Star Wars as a Shakespeare play. It looked awesome!
I'm reading Hamlet right now, and I like it a lot. The only other one I've read is Romeo and Juliet, which I didn't much care for.

Oh my gosh! I am in love with Shakespeare! I am taking a class that helps kids understand Shakespeare. We are reading As You Like It. Last fall, we did A Midsummer Night's Dream.

@ Ima: I've seen that book!!! It looks really funny! I'll have to read it, once I'm done with what I'm reading at the moment.

Yesterday I performed a bunch of scenes from different plays with the Shakespeare group I'm in. It was really fun! At the last minute the director told me to wear headphones at the beginning of one scene, when Ophelia was trying to talk to me.

Were you Hamlet?
(March 4, 2014 - 10:59 am)
In one scene, yes. In others I was Rosencrantz, The Apothecary from Romeo and Juliet and The Second Witch/Hecate from Macbeth.

Why were you wearing headphones?

It was Act III Scene i, so at the beginning I was supposed to be ignoring her when she comes in. I think it was supposed to be a sort of solution for me to actually be doing something other than staring into space. The director for that scene has strange ideas sometimes. At one point he sang the role call and accompanied himself on the ukelele.

Humor me, please. *smiles sweetly*
