POWER ORIGIN IDEAS

POWER ORIGIN IDEAS

This thread's purpose is to contain theories and stories about how the Powers came about and what they could be- besides the Powers of Wing and Claw. I'll post my stories as soon as I come up with them.

Admin: After a week or two, we will create a poll so everyone can vote on which origin story they like best! We might even combine more than one story.

Okay, so this is the story of Claaws's exile.

Dragon paced around a small sapling. Her wings were half folded and she shifted them as she trotted slowly around. Her glimmering white eyes glinted in anger as she thought of her siblings. Traders. It wasn't her fault she was given this power. The Power of Tooth, they called it. The power that gave humans the nerve to ignore us. The one that was the strongest. One like the strength of a battle scared tooth. One that will rip Kyndom to shreds. Now they were talking, in their private little cave around the magical flower's grave. And Dragon wasn't invited. Infact, she was told to stay. now, as she watched, a shimmering mist enclosed the space, and a beautiful white mare steped from the midsts. Her long white horn sticking up from her forhead glowed a shimmering light like the mist itself. The mist followed her everywhere, like water followed Sea dragon, and dirt followed Serpent, and sound and beautiful colors and sents followed Angle Wolf, and the wind that followed Griffan, and the deeply powerful silent fire that followed Dragon wherever she went, often crumpling forests with greed as the floweres shoved aside others for more room and space. They all knew that something in the mist fixed this greed, or more likely made flowers grow back to their normal size, and forget about who's to be bigger, giving them more of the good strength, agreement. Dragon was not affected by this greed, for it wasn't around her, it was within her, making it so it couldn't suffocate her with its fumes. She often wished she had the Power of Hoof, a strong sholder to lean on, the light in the smoke. The hope dispite the darkness surrounding it. To see all the plants parish because of her, it's not a good feeling. And the powers also hate her for it. But it's not her fault, and they know, just worn agknowlige it. They just need something to belame for all their problems, and that anchor was her. "Dragon," Unicorn begain. "We have all agreed that you should be exiled. You are not part of the Powers any longer, if you ever were." "Powers?" Dragon asked in dismay. "Yes. We are the powers now. The light in the smoke," Dragon avoided her pure white eyes. "The moon in the night. Your greed won't consume the world, Power of Darkness. For I, the Power of Light, will stand in you way."

Dragon watched with horror as her siblings all formed a line next to Unicorn. "We've all agreed that your power is to be changed to the Power of Drakness, and mine to the Power of Light. Light always shines through the darkness, Dragon. Remember that when you try to beat all six of us."

all of their pupleless eyes were fixed on Dragon, and she simply left before her greed could say another word.

The rest is coming soon, tell me of you like!

I like it, only I think that the Power of Hoof shouldn't change

Er... This is interesting, I guess? Well, the unicorn has violet eyes, for a start. And you misspelled some words. But I like the Power of Hoof to stay as it is! Light and Darkness are not tangible. If Hoof and Claw change, then everything else needs to, as well, because otherwise the Powers wouldn't be in balance.

Long ago, longer than anyone can remember in Kyngdom, there lived a great wolf. She called herself Lunee, but the name's not important.
Lunee was a great, noble wolf. She was as tall as a sapling and her eyes as big as deep, black apples. Her fur shimmered silver and her eyes glittered gold.
Whenever Lunee passed by to hunt, all the animals would watch  the grand creature in awe. She was the most respected animal in the forest, and she had the ability to speak.
She had a fine voice, louder than the loudest yell, yet softer then the quietest whisper. She seemed to breathe music, as one could almost hear a sweet tune whenever they stood near her.
But alas, Lunee was not immortal.
She was brought down, slain, by a mere young boy.
No one knows who he was. No one knows how he did it. No one knows WHY he did it.
But we do know one thing.
As the great wolf's spirit left this world, she let a single howl escape from her mouth. The howl contained all the sorrow in the world, all the joy, all the pain.
The lone howl took flight. It went up, up, up, dancing among the clouds, dancing among the stars.
It may have solidified into a shining ball of silver.
It may have liquified into pure nobility.
It may have transformed into a beautiful, golden flower petal and settled on a certain flower.
And it may have transformed into a beautiful, grand harp.
Who knows?
And so comes the story of the Power of Howl.

It was a beautiful night, the Stars danced in the sky, and the Angel Wolf, Lunee, soared in the sky. Her white fur glistened in the moonlight, her eyes were bright as stars, she was the picture of beauty, her eyes the picture of light. She landed on a cliff and sang to the moon, a single radiant howl, the gold outlineing her wings shimmered. But then, to the sorrow of a thousand souls, a dagger embedded itself in the Angel Wolf's chest. She fell to the ground, softly, noiselessly. The animals of the forest gathered round, to watch. Lunee's breaths grew shallow, her body slowly fading, and with her dying breath, she let loose a howl, so beautiful, yet so mournful it brought tears to all who heard it. Her voice rang out through the heavens, as loud as thunder and as quiet as a whisper. A single, resounding note, so beautiful, radiant, bright, gold swirled around Lunee's body, and a tear slid down her face, irredecsent in the starlight. For she knew she would never again sing to the moon, to the night, until the stars rained down from the heavens. Her spirit soared up and up onto the night sky. Her body faded, her golden blood no longer staining the ground where she had lain. Then, a star, a single burning flame, came down from the heavens, The Angel Wolf's last howl echoed of the mountains, and the star began to transform.  With swoops of gold and silver swirling around it, and Lunee's beauteous voice sounding around it, the star, now an instrument floated to the ground. It was a Whistleharp, small and beautifully shaped. Then, out of the crowd of woodland animals watching with fascination, a wolf came. The Lunee's voice was heard again, speaking. 'Take this instrument and guard it with your life. Pass it down to your children and to your children's children. For when played, this whistleharp will sound my final howl, and bring me back to Kyndom' and so the wolf did what the Angel Wolf said, and the Power of Howl, as it was called, is still hidden somewhere, secret, guarded by a wolf of a noble line.

I hope you like it! Claire H, I posted a story like this on your thread Wednesday, but I checked Thursday and couldn't find your thread. I made a new thread, but if your thread happens to pop up again, I will post on it instead. :-)

Beautiful and sorrowful. (in a good way though.) Maybe when she died a connstelation was made looking like her. Is this your mom in the story?

My CAPTACHA says hbmk if you didn't know I can shape-shift I can. Maybe I should turn into a humpback whale when I get near water.

Okay, here's my story:

A long, long time ago, in a land where animals were the rulers of all, there was a cave, in which there was rumored to be a great secret. The animals of the land were warned never to enter those caves, except in the most dire of circumstances. Since this land was peaceful, no one ever thought about going into the caves, or even near the caves.

The land was simply known as 'Kyngdom'

There were four rulers of the Kyngdom, and each had their own special features and powers that allowed them to rule with great wisdom and council over the land. One was a majestic purple crow, her feathers the color of royalty. The animals knew her as Queen Lyrisa, and she had control over all of the birds of the land. The second rulerl was a badger, the color of a icy sapphire. and the color of freedom and purity. He was called King Sharyan, and all of the land mammals followed him. The third animal was a Faerage Delert, one of the most powerful of all creatures in all the land. it's scales were purest black, the color of power and magic, and the animals called him Tyama, meaning "Magic" in the old Kynhara kanguage. All lizards, and magical beings were governed by Tyama. The final ruler as a great whale, her skin blood red, the color of courage. She was called Queen Ammayame, meaning "Courage in Light of Peril" and all sea creatures were under her rule. These four, known as the Guardian Rulers, made sure that their kyngdom was safe from all harm, whatever it may have been.

But all was not well in the Kyngdom.

A strange army of beasts had begun to advance on the kyngdom. They were called "humans", and all the animals, wheter weak or strong, whether rich or poor, whether powerless, or powerful, feared them greatly.

The Guardian Rulers called an emergency meeting in the grand palace called The Stone Tree. The animals were solemn as they ooked out the window at their land, that was in great danger.

"To think," Sharyan said, sorrow filling his voice, "that we could lose all this,"

"Yes," Lyrisa responded, joining Sharyan at the window, "but first, please, think of our people, and what they will gain from this."

"Nothing, if we do not try to save them," spoke Ammayame from her large river that ran through The Stone Tree.

"She is right," said Tyama, his strong voice filling the room. "What do we have to gain by giving up? We must do all we can to save our animals, even if we perish in the attempt?"

"Indeed," replied Ammayame, "but how can we save our Kyngdom without fighting?"

The Gaurdian Leaders thought for a while. They knew that with every passing moment, the humans were drawing closer to the gates of the Kyngdom.

"I know," said Tyama, and a mournful silence filled the room.

"We must enter the caves."

Now, in these caves lived a great gryphon, who was another of the most powerful creatures in the land. It's job was to guard the Power Caves, nearby the Kijja river. It's instructions were to "Let only the Worthy in," And so far, it had had no job to do, except watch the entrance, and judge any who came within a one mile radius.

The Guardian Rulers traveled to the caves as swift as their magic could carry them. The wind blew fair for them, as if the very spirit of nature itself wished them to hurry.

When they reached the judging point, the Caves deemed them worthy almost right away. The gryphon was almost afraid to meet these great souls who must be in great danger. He hastened to the entrance of the caves.

"What is it you need?" he asked the Guardian Rulers.

"We need the Powers," replied Lyrisa.

"Ah! So it is the powers you want! The humans, is it?"

"Yes," said Tyama, "and in the name of the honorable Kyngdom, I beg of you, pleas help us save our animals."

"None of you will receve the Powers," boomed the gryphon, "but your decendants will pass them down. They will be used to forever protect the animal kyngdom,as long as all of the Powers are never taken at once by humans."

"Yes," the Guardian Rulers said "We hear and obey."

"Then sacrifice yourself at the gates, so that I may have time to make your land ready for the humans," said the gryphon "I will make the land good for humans to rule over, but the animals will have their own kyngdom. But be forewarned, I see that there will be troubles with the Powers in the future. But I will warn your ancestors this:The answer always lies on the LUna Islands."

That day, the Guardian Rulers were killed at the gates of the city. The humans overtook the Kyngdom, yet the animals were saved. And the Powers of Wing, Claw, Scale, and Fin still survived.
