Aslahari

This thread is about a city in the Southern Deserts called Aslahari, which translates to be Desert Flower. It is a beautiful city with towering palaces made of rose colored glass and quartz.

The government leaders are called the Flames, and people are based on ranks. Your rank is defined by your understanding of The Ignis, or fire speak. The Flames have total control over fire and can talk to it fluently.

People can write about:

-Government

-Wars with neighboring cities

-Trade

-Nobles

Or whatever you want

Also, before people say that this would be better on an Inkwell RP, this city has things to do with Kyngdom. The people trade with people from Kyngdom, and BIG has been trying to take over Aslahari for years. Also, the desert where Aslahari is located is the origin of many of the dragon species that populate Kyngdom.

Have fun!

What was that, Alia?

It was going to be a small manner of troops anyway. And that filth-or, um, faithful army of the kInd of Sailhaven may come.

(Okay, so people of Aslahari, here's the thing. I have a REALLY confusing back story, but I'm really Mina. Check "My mother...." RP. You only have to look through the last couple of sections. Anyway, so basically, Icy, Shadow, and I were captured by this group, but we escaped and landed in this desert. We walked for a while, and TA-DA! we landed in Aslahari. So, we're going to be posting stuff on Aslahari. I'm just telling you in advance so you know why we suddenely pop up on your thread. Please join if you wish! The more charries, the better and more fun!)

Aslahari. I would recognize the town anywhere. Although I have never seen it in person, I have many a time examined it in maps and written to it's inhabitants. The desert jewel, it is as beautiful as I imagined.

We make an attempt at walking into the town when someone leaps out at us, with a spear.

"Who are you?" she asks, rolling her R's.

"Who are you?" I ask calmly.

She slowly puts down her spear, and stands up straight.

"I don't need a little kitten asking questions."

I growl and try to leap at her, but Shadow holds me back. The girl backs up.

"Look," Icy snaps. "We didn't come here for trouble. It's just been a long day."

"And why shoud I let you in?" she replies snarkily.

"Because," Shadow says cooly. "We are seeking a place of refuge."

The girl looks down at her hands. "ANd you think that's enough information to get me to let you in?"

I've had it with her.

I leap at her and grab the coller of her sand colored robe.

"Alright, look here," I say, letting a deep growling sound emit from my throat. "We've had enough of humans and other people who think they can push us around because they have more technology or greater forces than us." I'm practically yelling now. "And you don't need to be added to the list. This kid," I say, pointing to Icy, but with my other hand so I can still grab on to the coller of her robe. "Has wings that can appear if she touches her," I say, pointing to Shadow. "And this girl was experimented on more times than you've been alive so that she could have those giant things on her back. And me," I growl. "You don't want to know what I can do. We're running from people that can destroy this entire town. NOW LET US IN!"

I realize that I've lifted her off of the ground. I put her down slowly, and she backs up. The girl nods, and runs into the village. We walk into the town, scanning for water. We find a well about ten yards from where we are standing.

"Just a little longer," Icy gasps.

Icy and I walk side by side when we hear a thump behind us.

We look at eachother and say in unison. "Shadow."

We run to her, and pick her up.

"She's--too--heavy," I grunt.

"Yeah--she--is," Icy manages to say.

"Must be the wings," I mutter.

Icy nods.

We finally let her down with a thump. We grasp our knees, trying to catch our breaths.

"There's no way--hang on!" Icy exclaims.

"What?" I ask.

She moves her hands around, and she makes a force field like what she made when we were captured.

"Now if I can just use it to lift her off of the ground...." she says.

Icy finally gets her up, and we head to the well. But there's no water in it. Icy looks like she's going to blow a gasket.

"WHAT'S THE POINT OF PUTTING ONE IF THERE IS. NO. WATER?!"

A girl walks up to me and taps me on the shoulder.

"Did your friend want water?" she asks.

"Actually, we all wanted water," I say. I then point to Shadow. "She passed out, probably because of the heat and dehydration."

The girl looks up at the sky, alarmed. "Come, quick! Bring your friend, too," she says, looking at Shadow.

Icy looks at me, and I nod.

We follow the girl into a hut. It's kind of like a sand dune, but it looks a little more brightly painted than the other ones nearby.

"Nice color choice," Icy says.

"Thank you," the girl says, smiling. "I chose them."

Icy nods.

We enter the house, and the smell of freshly made bread and cooked fish and pork suround the house. Off in the distance, you can smell a hint of jasmine.

"Put your friend on this bed," she says, motioning to a bed that has brightly colored balcnkets on it.

After we lay Shadow on the bed, the girl draws water for us, and motions us to come sit at the table.

"Okay," she says, as we all sit down. "I'm Sienna, and I'd like to know what a girl with wings, a girl with hidden wings, and a weird-looking cat are doing in Aslahari."

Icy and I look at each other.

"That's Mina," she says, pointing to me. She points to Shadow. "That's Shadow, and I'm Icy. And how did you know I have wings?" Icy asks, as we both turn back to face Sienna.

"Oh, please," Sienna shrugs. "Word spreads faster here then Zashlak does in a herd of Yorikins."

"What?" Icy asks.

Sienna sighs. "Never mind that. What's brought you all here?"

We tell her the enitre story from where Shadow and I first met until when we all escaped SOCS's ship.

She nods. "We have an antidote for your problem, Mina. And Shadow's not the only one out there with that kind of mutation."

"What's the anitdote?" I ask.

She stands up and walks away into the house, coming back a couple of minutes later.

"It's called Redonstord. It's for when experiments go wrong. We've treated people and animals like you before. You'll be you again."

I look at her skeptically. Can it be that easy?

"Trust me," she says, answering my question. "It does work. Just take a sip."

I open the green bottle that she handed me and take a sip. My body feels tingly, and I shudder.

They both look at me, expectantly.

"Nothing happened," Icy says.

"Oh," Sienna says, shrugging. "Sorry, it usually works, but I guess it didn't this time. Sometimes it does that. We'll get you help, though, I can assure you that."

I nod, a trifle dissapointed. Oh, well. It was worth a shot.

"Anyway," Sienna says. "To answer your question, Yorikins are animals that are a mixture of a chicken, cow, sheep, and pig. Dogs usually herd them."

Dogs, hearding those? Man, I feel kind of bad for them.

I suddenely hear both of them gasp.

"What?" I ask.

"You're-you're," Icy stutters.

"A-a dog!" Sienna says, finishing Icy's sentence.

What?! A dog? How...?

I look around for a mirror and find a body mirror next to where Shadow is sleeping. I run over to it and look at it. I'm not a cat anymore. My snout is longer, I have less sharp ears, and I look more like a wolf.

No, I have to be a cat! I am a cat! Suddenely, I look in the mirror again, and I'm a cat.

I slowly turn around and look at Icy and Sienna with wide eyes. "Um, guys...?"

They stare at me in shock.

"Can the results be reversed?" I ask Sienna.

"No," she whispers. "I don't think that this one can be reversed."

I think of a monkey and look back at the mirror. Now I am one. I think of myself, a cat, again. I turn back into myself. I look back at Icy and Sienna.

Icy gulps. "The antidote thing.... It made you a shape-shifter!"

Just then, Shadow wakes up. We all turn to look at her. She sits up and rubs her eyes.

"Did I miss anything?"

I'm sorry Mina, but I have to make a couple corrections. Firstly, Aslahari is a giant city with advanced architecture, not a village. Also, the wells are everlasting and we do have running water. I am really sorry, I don't want to be mean. I think you should just know it thats all. It might help to read the intro/thread topic. Thank you for posting so much. I really didn't mean to sound rude.

Alia~

I ignore Ravage. After being shaken by those...kids...in the desert, I am rather rattled, and in no mood to discuss war tatics. I head back to the city, and enter Sienna's house. I have a message for her from an Ember. I step in and begin to speak, but they are there. Those kids from the  desert!

"You!" The one I was told had wings hissed. I slowly backed up to the door, fumbling with the lock. It was locked. Stupid hi-tech doors. Gulping, I turned around to face the angry group.

I had really put my foot in it now.

After Mina's...... Incident, they decide not to give me the potion. I try to argue, but they object.
"We're not taking any more chances," says the Aslahari native, who I think is named Sienna.
"Fine," I grumble. I'd actually started to get used to my wings (they have their perks!) but I haven't gotten used to the stares brought on by them. And the shouts and insults. In the woods they're few and far between, but in Aslahari and other less diverse areas of Kyngdom, the taunts are more common. People either think I'm an angel or a demon, and neither are very realistic.

~Icicle 'Icy' Soul

I try my hardest to comfort Shadow. Either--
"Oh, it's just me. I'm famous." As a joke to why people are staring, or-- "Ignore them--they're just jealous." Or, very loudly when a girl was staring---"Give me a twirl in those wings--they look so realistic!"

And when it wasn't enough, I got angry, and grabbed Shadow's hand. She gave me a look, but then realised it was to activate...the glow. I'm sparkling blue now, although my wings aren't here, and I give everyone a dazzling smile, like I'm a supermodel. But they still won't stop sharing at Shadow, and they're staring at BOTH OF US now.

~~~
Mina's taken to wearing a cloak. I got one for Shadow (DIDN'T STEAL IT OR ANYTHING!), but the tips of her wings stick out, and I think it's hot and scratchy on her, she just isn't saying anything. As we continue through the sandstone streets, I try to point out things to myself to distract me from my real mission, protecting the Powers.
"Oh look, here's a sign. Oh look, that store canopy is so colorful." I think to myself. Shadow shoots me a look and I realise that I'm saying these things outloud. And suddenly, I double over, feeling waves of a tingling sensation shoot through my body.
"What is it?" Mina asks, sounding politely concerned. Smart, she's drawing less attention to us. Or is she just being cold?
"I...I think there's a Power here in Ashari." I gasp.
I feel better, but Mina and Icy still think I should take the next few days off.
"It's for your own good," says Icy, "We can't expect you to fight Catastrophe in this condition."
They leave the palace room we've been given to stay in, closing the door behind them. Sienna's probably going to show them around the town or something. Once I can no longer hear their voices, I get out of bed. I pull on some native Aslahari clothes I found earlier and tie my hair up into a long braid. I tuck my wings into a large jacket and admire myself in the full-length mirror on the wall. I'm a stranger.
I throw open the shutters covering the window, and carefully climb down. Once I reach the ground, I walk briskly past the palace entrance just as it opens and see Icy, Mina and Sienna walk out, talking.
"I hope shadow's feeling better soon. This place is so beautiful!" I hear Icy say. Their eyes pass right over me, not noticing me at all. I try not to laugh. This was to easy. Did they really think I was going to listen to them?
