*walks in* “um.. hi again!” *thinks* I wonder if I ever got on the council.. *looks around at all the familiar faces and the ones she’s never seen* *sits down in a awkward position with her wing folded*
I bang on the door of the Resistance. Nobody answers. I bang again. Someone opens a small slot in the door. "Who are you?" they ask gruffly.
"I'm Secret. Would you happen to have a position for me?" I ask.
"Maybe. Come in."
I loosen my pink shawl, and open the door. I shiver for a moment, and shake the water droplets out of my wavy hair. "I see that your base is, er, empty," I comment.
"Mind your own business."
"I'm looking for a job as an artist. I'm especially skilled at mapmaking, forgery, and a little bit of cryptography."
The person seems to contemplate my quick introduction. "Come. We'll decide about that."
I crack open the door to see an unfamiliar elf in a pink shawl standing in the doorway. It's sleeting outside, and I'm suspicious of anyone who shows up in it. Superstitions, you know.
"Hello?" the person calls.
"Who are you?" I ask.
"I'm Secret. Would you happen to have a position for me?" she replies.
Claaws, I don't know. Ask one of the generals, not me. I thought. I decided to settle for a safe answer.
"Maybe. Come in, it's freezing out there."
"I see that your base is, er, empty," she says the second she steps inside. After staring at my wings, of course, which she couldn't have seen from outside the door.
I roll my eyes. "Mind your own business."
"I'm looking for a job as an artist. I'm especially skilled at mapmaking, forgery, and a little bit of cryptography," she says hurriedly, as if I would throw her out if she didn't speak up.
"Come. We'll decide about that."
I lead her down the hall, talking all the way.
"My name... well, I guess my name is Microchip. I am totally not in charge here, I want to make that clear right away. Yes, I made my wings myself. Yes, I can fly with them. Sorry if I'm a little irritable today- I haven't been able to get through to RP."
"What?" The elf looks as if she is trying to process all that I had just said.
"Never mind." It looks like I'll be doing a lot of eye-rolling today. Where is everyone?
I start asking her the average interview questions, where she's from and that stuff. It's protocol. Then I check her pockets, cloak, clothing for illegal items. Again, protocol. There's nothing but a bit of pencil and a burnt-out candle stub.
"I guess you can join, because we are very short on people these days. If I get in trouble for this, it's your fault."
Secret looks like she's about to start laughing. I roll my eyes again.
I duck into the clothing room that we had been standing in front of, and grab Secret a Resistance uniform.
"Enchanted. One size fits all." I gesture to a nearby dressing room.

Finally, Secret and I run into Mina.
"Hello, General." Secret lets out a small gasp and quickly bows. The corners of General Mina's mouth twitch upwards just the slightest bit.
"Good afternoon, Microchip. And this is..?" General Mina gestures to Secret.
"I'm Secret," she says.
"Secret?" the General questions.
"Secret is my actual name."
General Mina nods.
"She was standing outside," I tell Mina. "I examined her already."
"Thank you, Microchip. I will take it from here." she says with a curt nod, and I am free. RP, here I come!
