Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ Power of Fin

UNDERWATER BALL GOSSIP&

UNDERWATER BALL GOSSIP

The sand is golden, the water is pleasantly bubbly, and everybody who’s anybody in Southeast Kyngdom is here. We’re your proud Sea Anemone hosts, Actiniaria and Hexacorallia, reporting LIVE from the most exclusive event of the year: the Enchantment Above the Sea ball, South Kyndom’s first-ever dry land-themed underwater ball. If you see us milling around, come say hi and give us the dish on all the watery gossip! You’ll recognize us by our wavy pink tentacles (quick shout-out to our sponsor, the Subaqueous Salon and Sea Spa).

Of course, in about twenty minutes, we expect the next Guardian of Fin to be announced, and believe us, the room is simply awash with anticipation. You can’t swing an underwater lasso without bumping into a group of whispering shellfish. But first, let’s turn our attention to the incredibly glamorous attendees and give you unlucky landlubbers listening to our broadcast a little taste of the P-A-R-T-Y.

Land ho, this place is sparkling. Each twenty-foot-tall underwater cactus is decked out in glimmering lights. The sand on the floor has been carefully blended with real gold flakes, creating a shimmering carpet underfoot. The punch is flowing, and graceful seahorses are passing out dry land-themed appetizers: miniature sea cucumber tacos, tiny teacups of coral chili, and nacho towers topped off with smoked seashells. We’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the celebrity chef that the organizers swam in for the occasion—he’s a clownfish who trained off the coast of France.

Most of the guests have adopted a look that we’d have to term “highbrow underwater cowboy.” We’re seeing a lot of denim gowns encrusted in barnacles and diamonds. Some of the wealthier guests are wearing silk bandanas and golden spurs. There’s even a cowboy hat or two—ooh, we’re seeing a scuffle unfold on the dance floor! There’s gold-tinted sand swirling through the water! Hold up one second, we’re getting the 411…apparently a Fangtooth Fish attempted to dance with a Vampire Squid, who turned out to be the date of a very muscular Frilled Shark. The sand just cleared, and neither Fish nor Shark is anywhere to be seen. Security here is no joke!

Naturally, the Powers are here in full force. They’re flexing their powerful…do dragons have muscles? They have to, right? They’re looking fabulous in formalwear specially designed by none other than the untouchable CERES AND COMPANY (we’ll hold for applause). And these drama-prone Kyngdomites even seem to be getting along, at least for now.

We’d be remiss not to mention the cornerstone of the décor: a giant ice sculpture in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by tantalizing desserts (salt-water granitas, anyone?). The sculpture is carved into the shape of a massive and very realistic rodeo scene, but instead of a cowgirl, the artist depicted a breathtakingly accurate version of our very own Finny—the heir apparent to the Guardian of Fin. The little dolphin is portrayed so accurately that she looks practically real. In fact, if you glance at the sculpture at just the right moment, you can almost see her eyes move. Magical! At the base of the ice sculpture is a keypad that requires a code, but it’s unclear what it’s meant for. Does anyone have any information? Come find us and spill the deets—we’re all tentacles.

The dancing is being put on hold for a moment, because it’s time for one of the much-anticipated activities: some of the lucky guests are about to try their fins at roping sea cows. The massive creatures are being released from a series of gilded pens, while guests shriek and attempt to catch them with lassos made from kelp. This activity certainly fits the theme, but it’s looking like no one can manage to catch a sea cow. In fact, the cows appear to be taunting the guests. We can’t believe it—they’re lining up and dancing a can-can! Hold on, now they’re swimming over the heads of the guests and disappearing into the deep blue of the ocean. The organizers look irate.

Having just slipped over to try a bit of the punch, your faithful correspondents are happy to report that the punch is especially tasty this year. Jeweled Rockskipper!

There’s something a bit different about it…a certain fizz…a tang on the back of the tongue. Perhaps the celebrity chef is trying out a new seaweed-infused simple syrup? In the interest of full gossipy disclosure, we’ve been hearing rumors that the punch is spiked—but we’d have to try another cup in order to report back for sure.

Ooh, Imagine Sea Dragons is about to take the stage: their hair is gelled, their buttons are shelled, and they look ready to rock. Hope they play their hit single, Radioactive (Materials are Leaking Into the Ocean—Thanks a Lot, Humans). Looks like it’s time for these anemones to get their groove on—come find us at the dance floor and tells us what’s really going on at this party. The wilder the rumor, the more we want to hear it! Actiniaria and Hexacorallia out.

what, hold up everyone! so... now catastrophes army is against us, and has attacked the ship, or certain individuals, and that prompt brought back up to surface a really important admin created character. can whoever is in the fight with the marsha girl plz rap it up soon? I know it sounds weird, but it's been awhile since I've seen land, and Im kinda missing it.... and we can't be far now. AND we should also try and complete the alliance with brazen gild to find the next power... AND AND Admins, maybe it's time to tell us what the next power is if you had it all planned out, because most everyone is thinking it's the hoof, but there are so many different pleads for powers, and you can only answer one. we don't want this to open up a different reality.

Woah, woah, woah Vivean.

Yes, I agree. The ship has been too eventful, I want to wrap this up too.

But second, it isn't Zephyra at all, Caelani stated that she was home at her peak. It was Whist, just playing with us. (Whist is Sylvia's side-affected Power. Which makes no sense, because Sylvia hasn't been activated yet. Hmmm...)

I'd like to write Sylvia's summoning, because she's my favorite character (and my original character) on here and I had some special ideas. If, of course, the next highlighted Power is the Power of Hoof. And Whist makes no sense. Does it correspond with Sylvia's state of consciousness?

Hey Trixie W, a spot just opened up fur Ayearth, since Lucy is leaving. (By Lucy!!!! ); by the way, why are you leaving Cricket? If its an age thing, I'm probably a tleast a year older then everyone here. Probably. Of most people. Not everyone, but probably most people.

OMK!!!!? OMK!!!!? What if Whist is actually the sideaffected power OF CAEALANI! IT WOULD MAKE MORE SENCE OF WHY SHE WAS BACK, AND MAYBE CAELANI JUST BELAMED HER ON SYLVIA BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, HIS PRIDE. TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!!!!!!

~Caealni

Whist glared around the boat, the mist kreeping around the railings like it was gaint fingers rising from the sea, grasping for land. Whist circled down and landed squarly in the middle of the boat. Mist flew from her wings in a gush of air, spreading across the ship and into the air. She glanced up, her one scared eye clouded like the mist. Her feathers were still charred and crisp in places, splayed for all to see in an arch over her loward head. Her sharp obsidian talons gripped the earth as she took a step foward, her shinny black beack glimmering even though there was no light to make it glimmer. She lifted one talon, and her obsidian black claws curled in towards her palm before arching back out to grip the ground a few feet farther from the last gouges.

There was a screeched from above her. Caealni bristled, his feathers along his spine slowly rising. Eico raised his head higher next to Caealni, pushing off the ground to arch way over the heads of the onlookers. His long, strong rock-like brown body was curled underneath him. His talons danggled in the air and his broad, flat face glared down at the snowly owl.

Caelani caught sight of tens, maybe hundreds, of birds of prey arching low through the mist, beaks parted and talons outstreached. They all had distant, blue eyes like the one of Whists that was scared, like the mist was controlling them itself. Caelani took a step foward, his talons digging into the smooth, polished, wood. Whist glared into his eyes and Caelani saw her slim, shinny beak open. A shrill sound escaped, and it seemed to echo through the mist, as, body after body, the hawks swooped into war. Caelani roared, the sound like that of an egal and a lion, smooth and welcoming, the opposit of the shrill that came from Whist. Then he charged, his wings half spread and his talons peircing the wood, one by one, and his head lowerd.

Whist just laughed.

And laughed.

And laughed.

Okay I can be Ayearth. He's a sea serpent, because he's the power of fin, right? This kind of thing:so, has he been activated? I'm sorry, I was out of town when all the stuff happened.

Zoth says zfix. You'll fix it, zoth? Is anything broken?

Okay so if u want to know what Ayearth his, what his personallity is and all of that stuff go to the That RP is......thread and it has a whole page on all the Power personalitys, and the art thread has a hole bunch of picks on Ayearth and the Powers. I'll give u some pointers if u don't have the time to go through all of it. ;)

1. Ayearth is quite and lonely. He used to be in love with a Chinese dragon of whom I connot pronounce the name, actually we may change it if nobody can pronounce it. She was his sideaffected power and all the others killed her and he was sad and extra depressed ever since. But she is comming back with all the other SideAffected Powers so ya.

2. Ayearth only has two fins and a tail. And his instrament is aa ocean harp. (As we voted on alot)

3. We havent really decided on an appearance yet but we are getting there.

ALSO I CONNOT BELIVE THAT LUCY ACTUALLY LEFT! OMK THIS IS REFUSING TO PROCESS THROUGH MY MIND RIGHT NOW.

(September 3, 2016 - 6:55 pm)

I put a picture, but it didn't come through. By harp, do you really mean harp, or is just a poetic name and it's really a lyre or whatever? Harps are big, and I thought the powers were all small.

BUT REALLY, I HAD NO IDEA THAT LUCY WAS LEAVING UNTIL CLAAWS SAID!!!! Good bye! You will be missed!

I'm back! As it turns out, Hurricane Hermine cut the power off around here, so I was off for a while, but the power's back on(obviously)!

I had an idea for Ecio's sideaffected power, but tell me if you don't like it. Maybe since Ecio can see into the future, maybe the sideaffected power should be able to go into the future. But please tell me if you don't like it.

And now for some actual RPing...

Ronan(of course)--- I hear a smash of glass and screams, followed by a rapid succesion of slashes, cuts, and general attack. Shielding myself from the birds, I get under a large barrel which quickly is toppled. I'm out in the open, with the Gryphon about twenty feet behind me and Whist five feet in front of me. Her eyes gleam malevolently as she stares at me.

"Well, well. It appears you're too smart for Marsha Yearwood," she spits.

I say nothing.

"Cat got your tongue?"

I still say nothing.

"Haven't you got anything to say at all, you idiot boy?"

"Why is everyone after me?"

Whist smiles, a dreadful thing with entirely too much eyes and no beak. "I belive I shall leave Lord Catastrophe that pleasure."

Lord Catastrophe? Bleah.

"I think the birds would like some prey..." Whist says in a soft, soft whisper, still doing the smile with too much eyes and not enough beak.

My eyes widen as in a split second , I am airborne, birds clawing and tearing at me. All I see is feathers and beaks.

submitted by Ronan, In mortal peril
(September 4, 2016 - 2:37 pm)

Feathers--beaks--that's what's surrounding Ronan right now. I scream for about five seconds straight before regaining my composure. "Caelani, what are they doing?!" I ask, scared and determined. "Do you think I know!?" He roars. I sigh and push my hand into his side, lighting blue, fairy wings bursting into existance.

I dart into the air, suprised at how easy flying is in the end. Those birds are looking for Caelani--not me. And maybe, just maybe, I can use that silver owl's mist to my advantage.

I fly straight into a cloud of mist, and immediately I feel dizziness, and overpowering....I've faced possession before. And it's trying to happen to me, and my blue glow starts to turn red--and I quickly fly out of the cloud, and behind it. Whist's creatures are shrieking and I see Ronan struggling, but eventually realizing that he'll fall into the ocean...if he dropped, I don't think I could carry him.

"Should we take him to o....Lord Catastrophe for the...?" I hear. What do I do!?

Nothing but follow him. Realizing one last thing, I dart back towards the ship and yell--"Get off the ship at the nearest harbor. Make peace with BIG. GET OFF THE SHIP when land comes!" They probably won't listen to me, but it's worth a try.

I fly back, kicking the air, towards Ronan, hiding behind a cloud.

I'm going to rp, even though I've been a bit lost ever since I got back home.

-Trixie

All of a sudden, I see Ronan get lifted up by a bunch of birds. There's a moment where everyone is stunned, but then Icy sprouts wings and flys toward him. She seems to be having trouble though. Her wings have turned red and she's backing off. She shouts something I can't make out. Was that make peace with B.I.G.? No. Way. Not going to happened. At least not long term. Anyway Ronan looks like he needs help. I pull my throwing knives out of my belt and hurl them into the midst of the birds, careful so I don't hit Ronan. He's falling! I dive over the edge so I can keep his head above water if he's knocked out. Urk, this boat bigger (Ha ha) then I thought. I hit the water and feel my shoulder wrench. That was a horrible dive. Oh well this will be a good rescue. The rescuer hurts herself diving in. I guess I have to do this one handed. I swim over to Ronan and put my arm under his. Keeping his head above water, I start kicking us toward the boat. This was hard! I've never done this one-handed before. Addmittedly, I've never done it with someone whoes knocked out before either. It's always just been friends in a still pool with a floor to kick off of. By the time I make it to the boat, I'm already tired. I start treading and calling help, hoping someone can pick us up before I pass out.

-End rp

I'm stopping here. Can someone save us. Also, if I messed anything up please tell me. Thanks!
