I have been wanting to start an RP for a while now... and I thought, what would be better than Mythology? Nothing. That's why I decided to do an RP on Mythology.
1. Setting- Ancient Greece! Also Ancient Rome if you so choose, and areas outside of Ancient Greece.
2. Characters- How are we going to make up characters? To be fair you are allowed one God and one Goddess. Make sure you do not do one that is already taken. You can have as many mortal characters as you want though.
3. Background- It is going to be during the Trojan War. We mostly will make it up as we go along.
My Characters:
Goddess: Hera
Looks Like: Has dark brown hair mostly worn in a bun. Has tan skin, dark black eyes. Is tall and thin. Is beautiful.
Acts Like: Is a warrior queen. Can be jealous very easily, especially of Zeus. Is clever and smart. Does not like to be bothered. Likes to be in control. Did I mention clever?
About her: Is the wife and sister of Zeus. (Don't ask me how this happened.) Used to be in love with Zeus, but old age (can Gods get old???) has made them more apart.
God: Zeus
Looks like: Has gray hair and a long beard. Has pale skin, dark black eyes. Is tall, but "heavier." Was handsome when he was younger. There are still some traces of beauty.
Acts Like: Can be angered very easily. Does not care about being in charge or not. Likes to act like he is still young and mortal.
About him: Is the husband and brother of Hera. He still loves Hera, but hinks it is hard to manage her.

There are really lots of others, Greek mythology is full of them, but I'll just stick to god/goddess or mortal.
Goddess: Eos, goddess of Dawn
Appearence: Brown hair, has blue/purple wings ( when she wants to), looks about 18
Personality: Always dreamy and floaty, but when she's angry, you don't want to cross her
About: Aphroditi found her with Ares and cursed her, so now she's always in love
I'll post my god or mortal later.

I know you said that we aren't allowed to have half-bloods or demi-gods as characters (and I agree, because that would really be way too much like Percy Jackson) but are we allowed to have humans as characters? What about mythological monsters like Medusa? Are we allowed to have hunters of Artemis as characters, or would that be too cliched also? What about servants of the gods? What about non-Greek gods? (I'm thinking along the lines of, say, Japanese gods of luck, Chinese dragons, Egyptian guardians of the tomb.)
Also (sorry, trying not to be too inquisitive) are we allowed to have more than one character?
Right. I'm going to go ahead and plan my first character, but feel free to tell me if it's a no go.

Yes to: humans, mythological monsters, hunters of Artemis, servants of the Gods
No to: non-Greek Gods
Definitely allowed ot have more than one character, as long as you can keep them under control.

All right! I've decided on my god and goddess set.
Goddess: Eris, goddess of strife and discord
Looks Like: short, spiky black hair, pale skin, yellow eyes, and a cruel smile. (She can shapeshift, like all gods, and often uses that talent to get out of trouble or frame others, but this is her favorite form.)
Acts Like: Evil, scheming, and always seeking vengeance from the gods. She's very ruthless and manipulative. Loves to cause trouble and war.
About her: She believes they have scorned her and humiliated her by not allowing
her onto Olympus, and is currently working on a plan that will cause a
great deal of trouble for Zeus. (In mythology, she may have been the cause of the Trojan war.)
God: Thanatos, patron god of souls, especially the dead.
Looks Like: a young, innocent boy with gray eyes and angel's wings. Often seen holding a butterfly.
Acts Like: Very quiet and thoughtful, gentle to humans, and sometimes sad.
About him: Because of his reputation as the bringer of death, the other gods shy away from him and the humans fear him. He is also banished from Olympus, and frequently walks in the Shadowlands or the Underworld with only his butterflies to keep him company. (His butterflies are actually soul messengers and his patron creature.)
I know they're both pretty minor gods, so I had to do a bit of inventing. I'm hoping Eris can be the villain of the piece. It would be pretty cool, I think: Eris manipulating the Trojan war into existence and sending all of the other gods into disarray and conflict; the other gods have to realize the underlying cause and unite to fight her off before it's too late and she destroys the world.
Anyway, let me know if it's too much.

Goddess:Aphrodite
Looks like:Flawless skin,long curly blond hair,blue eyes,wears pink,blue,and purple,meduim hieght,skinny,looks like she is always wearing makeup when she really isn't,Streaks in her hair that change color depening on what color she is wearing.
Acts like:flirty,nice,sweet,Nice to animals.People think that she is vain and concetied by how she looks,but she really isn't.She tells everyone,even if they are ugly,that they are beutiful.
About her:She goes to earth the most.Although married to Hephaestus she had many lovers(got the one about her lovers from wikipedia).
God:Dionysus
Looks like:has some stuble on his chin,black short hair,small and fat,tanish skin.
Act like:Doesn't really care about a lot of things excpet for his love,wine.Crazy.
About him:Drinks a lot of wine and parties with immortels
