Sorry! Is this going to be an RR or RP? How about we start with the what, where, who, why and how of the story. I'll start filling that in.
What:
Where: A cave in the mountains.
Who: A brother and sister who live with their grandmother in a cave, a talking cat, and numerous other characters.

Just to let you know, I'm going to stay overnight at my Grandma's house for a few nights, so I'll be back in a few days. Just wanted to let you know so that you weren't wondering where I was. :-) Have a good weekend!

Hi, Amy! I'm back! Sorry I was gone for longer than I said I would be...I hope you don't mind. :-)
I like your ideas! Maybe we could make a "collection" of short stories. If we make a bunch of them, we could make it into a book! :-) It's a good goal to aim for! :-)
I added a few things to our plot/chart/whatever it is. Here it is:
What: A collection of short stories by Amy G. and Princess P.
Where: A cave in the mountains.
Who: A brother and sister (Joseph and Kayla?) who live with their grandmother (Grandma May?) in a cave, a talking cat, and numerous other characters. Their grandmother is not an old grandma whom the brother and sister have to care for their whole life. She is a wise (but still old! :-D) lady who helps the children through all their adventures. She is kind and likes to tell the children stories. The children's mother and father died when they were little, and the children were left in their grandmother's care. She has lived in the mountains her whole life, and she did not want to leave her home to go back to the city, so she took the children up onto the mountain to live with her. Joseph is 12 years old and is a protective older brother to Kayla, who is 10 years old. They both have light brown hair, brown eyes, and brown skin from being outside all the time. Kayla loves all kinds of animals and loves to take care of them. She has pity on all little animals, and big ones too! Especially kittens, or animals that have no home. Joseph likes animals, too, just not as much as Kayla. He likes to teach the animals tricks. He prides in his pet goat that he has raised from birth. He has trained the goat to do many tricks. The children have saved many animals from death. They cared for some while they were sick, they took in animals who had no parents, and they helped some recover from bad injuries. They released some animals back into the wild when they were able to survive on its own, and they kept some animals as pets and continued caring for them.

I added the "what" and I put in the personalities of Joseph, Kayla, and Grandma May. Feel free to change the names and/or personalities if you think of better ones!

I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner : ( I'm in a play and I'm so busy I won't be able to continue the story 'til next week. But I really liked what you added to the story line thingy (sorry, I'm tired), especially the good character description! I think the next to add is...a villainous guy. Any ideas??

Plot and antagonist ideas: When Joseph and Kayla (with Kayla's cat Mal) sneak off to the city (in the valley) to go to a circus (against their grandmother's wishes) they find the circus...and some more unpleasant things. Partway through the circus Kayla finds that Mal is missing. Thinking he got lost in the city, she and Joseph retrace their steps. They find Mal in chains in the back of the circus ring. Before they can rescue him the circus strong man, thinking the two kids are sneaking into the show without a ticket, throws them out of the tent. By the time they get back inside the tent Mal has vanished. The two of them realize that the grandmother would have realized they have disappeared by now and race back up the mountain. But when they get back to the cave they find that she too has vanished. The cave is a mess and they realize that she was taken by force. They find some mysterious symbols painted on the walls of the cave and decide to search for their cat and grandmother. To be continued.
Do you want to do an RR, RP, or something else? If an RR or RP I would make the plot line that I started into the beginning of the story. I'm sorry, I kind of got carried away with the plot line thing I was writing! It sounds like the beginning of a fantasy novel, not a short story.

Okay, see you when you get back! Oh, wait a minute. I'm going to be gone soon, too! :-) I'm leaving this Wednesday, and I'll be back sometime next week. I forgot exactly which day we get back. Anyways, I'll see you when you or I get back, whoever is back first! :-)
