good news is i don't have school tomorrow so i have time to write :D c'mon, i'm almost (not really lol) at 20K we can do this let's go
i tell myself if i reach my daily word count i can have some halloween candy. it's a good system.
alright i'm just procrastinating at this point. i know it, you know it, my neighbor knows it.
so, good luck everyone, you're all doing amazing. words are hard, so even if you only write one word today, that is one very hard thing that you did, and one more word than you had yesterday.

That was such an inspiring post. Especially the last part.
not to discount anything you said about words being hard, I want to hang that quote on my wall, it's so true (and perhaps I will)
it just motivates me knowing your cat is proud of us too. What praise from a cat! The only cat I'm really close to only wants US to praise HIM (which, oc, I'm happy to do. He's an affectionate little purring machine and single-handedly changed my whole view of cats). But the cat praising US? High praise indeed. Thank you pangolin's cat and pangolin and pangolins the animal everywhere also while I'm at it (you're all awesome) :)
yess we can do this!! 20K words is a LOT! Wow! Give yourself a pat on the back, that was all you, you did it, you can do it some more, congratulations you're amazing!! And I'm glad you spend your procrastination time doing such wonderful things (speaking of procrastination time...)!

Awww it's so cute!!! I love it!!! And that's the perfect advice :DD
Also I finally started writing today!! I'm kind of behind because I started so late but I love my story so far, and my new-story excitement lasted longer than it usually did--I wrote a full three pages! Hopefully it stays at least a little!! :D

Awwww! Jellycats are the besttttt! I'm currently sitting with Chrysanthemum Jasper (my Bashful Tiger), Trinket Cookie-Crumbs (my Bashful Raccoon), and my Smudge Elephant (who I don't have a name for yet). Smudge Elephant is so soft, and I haven't even brushed him in a long time. She gets so much softer when you brush him :D (I haven't decided on her pronouns yet, he/she works for now at least) We're actually watching The Nutcracker right now, but we were watching Sleeping Beauty a little bit ago, so close enough *shrugs* This version of The Nutcracker is the best. The music is good, but the dancers are amazing. Especially the person who plays The Nutcracker, Marcelino Sambé (he's sooo good it's unbelievable) but they're all amazing. Anyway your drawing is so cute, it definitely looks like a Kitten Caboodle :D

First time posting as a fiifteen year old, and it's to talk about writing, of course.
I'm also writing a novel this month, yippee! My novel's only 10k words so far but it's going good. It's in first person present tense, and it's set on my home island of Maui! The main character runs away from home with her best friend, which I know is a trope, but she is going to go through such a cool arc because of it!
In the beginning she believes that she can't stand on her own, and she has pretty major trust issues. By the end she'll be sure of herself and be able to trust people.
Oh also, she falls in love with her best friend. And the book is called Dragonfly.

lol I started I am not going to say how many words I'm at(Its not good but in my defense I started late) But its fun to do!! My goal(since I started late) is 10k but idk... I will have time to write more this wekeend so I'll see. The support is awsome though. EVERYONE YOU CAN DO IT! WRITE WRITE WRITE WRITE

Shining Star!! hi! it's always so good to hear from you! i always love hearing about your writing projects--they're always so creative and vibrant. Dragonfly sounds like an awesome project :D and i'm sure everyone else's projects are wonderful <3
my bit of advice today is to remember self-care!! i don't know about you guys, but i can sometimes get so caught up in my writing and reaching my word count goal for the day that i can forget to take a break and take care of myself, whether that's by eating something, going outside and/or exercising, meditating or listening to some music to relax, playing with a pet, or anything else! remember to take some time to just chill this november! <33

Sorry I have not been updating on this thread. Remember that brief hiatus I took not too long ago (like, idk, 2 days ago? 3?)? Well, that also meant hiatus from writing, and that added on top of all my before kinda procrastination meant I came back into it...
really behind.
So I've spent these past 3 days (so it was 3 days), including today, feverishly/fervently writing (and writing, and writing, and writing, and doing homework, and writing, and studying, and procrastinating on the CB, and writing, and drawing, and reading, and eating, and writing... oh, sleep? What's that? and writing...). Because, yippee, I was so behind I had to write over 10,000 words in three days! And then I procrastinated a bunch on the first day so I really had two days! And then...
well, I'm grateful for Thanksgiving, (hey! Spirit of the holiday!), because it meant no homework today, and I.. uhh.. forgot it was a late start day and got to school 1.5 hours early, and stayed 6 hours late, oh, and I got to write in pouring rain (as in literally imagine standing underneath a shower going full blast, which was awesome, except since I write on my laptop...), which was fun, but basically all that means...
I WROTE 10656 WORDS TODAY!! NOW MY TOTAL'S AT 25010!! AHHH!!!

but also I made the mistake of sharing my moment with my parents who were in the room at the time and as a result I don't really feel excited, like I feel like I should, cause this is a huge accomplishment, but my parents don't get that, and they were just like, "oh, that's cool.. what's NaNo again? I mean, I know you explained it to me before, but I'm really busy and forgot," which is, ok, fine, reasonable, but I MEAN ARGHHH then we got into a huge argument and when I awarded myself the badge for writing 25K words in 15 days I was so proud then they were like, "seriously, that's it? That's all they give you? You just reward yourself a badge? No fireworks? There're fireworks on the badge, they should do more" and I wanted to scream, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?! I wrote 25010 words, this isn't about the badge, this is about the progress, the badge just displays that, SERIOUSLY?!? I felt SO GOOD rewarding that badge to myself, because I EARNED it, me!, all me!, me and the CBers and my brother who kept me going and motivated me (btw my brother literally left for school overnight trip today, that's why he's not here) not you, and you want MORE?!?
*takes a deep breath*
sorry, Ik it's not my parents fault or anything. I just feel like that rush of exhilaration and pride is the best prize you get out of it and I've just been cheated out of that. That's why I put all the smiley faces in the former post. Usually I mean them fully and truly, and so I thought, if I do this, then maybe I'll feel it, right? Fake it till you make it?
but I don't, so sorry. And I feel bad because I always strive to be extremely genuine because what's the point of giving compliments/encouragement/comments if they're not genuine, and plus, I feel guilty if I don't 100% mean everything I say, prob why I'm writing this all out...
sorry, just needed to get that out. And sorry for being uncharacteristically angry. Usually just being on the CB cheers me right up so I have no need for posts like this. Sorry admins for having to read all that too.
hope everyone's writing is going well and you feel extremely proud of yourselves! You should! Remember, this is for yourself, and yourself only. You don't have to do this for anyone else! This is your gift for YOU. You deserve it. Even if you don't feel it, you do. Keep that in mind, and be proud of yourself!! And know that we're all proud of you too! You're doing this! :)

oh, i'm so sorry, Celine! that skids really frustrating. you've made such amazing progress, and your achievements definitely deserve to be celebrated. *hugs if you want them* <3
wow, 10K in a single day? that's incredible! i hope that your parents' reaction didn't make you feel any less proud of that accomplishment! :D
and everyone--keep writing! we're just past the halfway point! you're all doing amazingly, and i'm so so proud of all proud of all of you. i hope you're proud of yourselves too <33
