Hello dear students, may I welcome you to your first day at G.P.P.S. As your Principal, I am very excited to see young people learning. I wish you the best, and I hope your graduate with honors pinned on your shirts of excellence! You may now go to your classrooms.

------------------------------------
Hello students. I am your teacher, Mr. Gloworm. I hope you enjoy this wonderful experience of free-thought, story-creating, and so-on. For our first lesson, I'm going to go something different than your usual classroom; I'm going to let you choose something to write about. Remember, this is all about free-thought. I will tell you more about it later. First we have to see who we have in this classroom.

Miss Mathilda
Dawnpaw
Miss Brynne

If you are not on that list, and would like to be, please tell me before the third class.

Okay now moving on to the assignment part. No, no, moving on to the free-thought part. I don't ever want you to think of literature as an assignment. If you do, please refrain from joining this class, I don't want to ruin the experience for you.
~~~~
For your first free-though, I want you to write about something important to you. Make it no more than seven sentences and no less than 3. This is not to be a plain, boring, old bio of yourself. Make it into a story. Exaggerate; make things bigger, if you have a cat make it a lion! The choices are yours.
Your papers will be graded when returned.
I'm here! (By the way, I'm a girl)
Now, what to write about...?
When is this due?
Oh, fun!
Acting
Many people would argue that I am not exactly outstanding at acting. I would probably agree.
But for this particular production, I felt confident--I, along with the rest of the cast, had worked on it for nearly four months. Costumes, props, time, commitment--all had contributed. And now we were ready. In five minutes, the curtain would go up on the opening night of Pinocchio.
I could hardly wait.
Yes, okay, bad. Sorry. And I ask that you please grade me honestly (I know that I would be at least slightly tempted to grade higher than deserved). Do we get reading assignments in this class, too?
(October 10, 2009 - 7:44 pm)
Can I join this class?
(October 11, 2009 - 3:48 pm)
Miss Dawnpaw, as I don't want this to feel like an assignment, I will not make a specific due date, except for the fact that it MUST be done before the third lesson has been given.
Miss Brynne: I give you a B+! You free-though was very nice, and I felt that you really enjoyed acting. The only reason it wasn't an A was that I saw a few mistakes, but we won't go into them.
Three-headed cat dragons
Fluf yawned. She glanced at her other heads. Flore and Faun were both asleep. Fluf stood up and walked along the forest path.Flore's eyes opened and she yelled, "Fluf! I'm TRYING to sleep!" Fluf rolled her eyes and sat down.
How did you like my short tale about three-headed cat dragons?
(October 11, 2009 - 3:29 pm)
Dear Mr. Gloworm,
I am interested in literature class and am wondering if you would be willing to let me in.
Charlotte
I am 11 and do about 7th grade stuff.
I hope to be an author.
Please accept.
Charlotte A.
Mistakes: Do you mean the tense-switching? That was intentional. :) It didn't turn out great in such a short format, though.
(October 12, 2009 - 1:36 pm)
Um, CAN I join?
(October 12, 2009 - 5:01 pm)
Miss Brynne: It was lovely, it was just something about it that didn't quite click. You should be proud of yourself for a B+ though.
-
Miss Dawnpaw: D-. The format wasn't good, and it was supposed to be something important to you.
-
Miss Mango: I believe you have already joined two other classes, so I'm afraid not.
-
Miss Charlotte: Yes, you may join.
Well, when I said English, I meant literature! I'll quit English!!!!!
(October 13, 2009 - 3:00 pm)
Can I try again? Please?
Three headed cat dragons are important to me because I made them up!
Please tell me what I did wrong exactly. You told us to make it a story, I did. I'll happily redo it...
To tell you the truth, I'm a 6th grader and I can not live with a d minus.
Cats
Cats are very important to me. I love them. In fact, I just came inside from seeing a cat. I was playing outside, the cool air freezing my fingers. And then I saw a small figure trotting down my driveway. I chased after it and the cat ran in to a small patch of forest. I watched it and walked slowly up to it. The leaves crackled under my feet and it ran away.
I really like cats, but my parents won't let me get one. If I ever get one, I will be happy.
Cool! May I join? But what happens if we miss an assignment?
(October 18, 2009 - 11:29 am)
When people think of electric guitar players, they usually think of tough people, rather wild, not to mention the fact that more boys than girls play guitar. That's not always true! I've been playing for 4 years now, and I love to play a variety of things, from the Beatles to Taylor Swift. It's actually a lot of fun! Writing songs is definetely the best, though. I love it when you can turn your own ideas into songs! I still haev a lot to learn, though, which is why I have to practice a lot... so I'd better go down to the basement to practice. See you later!
*puts down fake guitar prop* Well, erm... what do you think?
(October 13, 2009 - 4:33 pm)
You may try next semester Miss Mango.
-
Very good Miss Mathilda, while I did note a few spelling mistakes, overall your score is A-.
