I need ideas. And I figure other people do too. So, on this thread you can post writing prompts. They can be one word or a couple sentences or a whole paragraph or dialogue or a journal entry... really anything you can think of. I personally quite like one-word prompts but anything's good :) Here's a couple just off the top of my head:

Some more :)
- The main character is a blind mermaid, and therefore has to learn echolocation
- The main character is Lebanese. Their rival/love interest/you decide thinks it means that they're Lesbian, through a misunderstanding. Shenanigans ensue. (this was like the entire plot of Mean Girls)
- The main character thinks they can talk to plants. Trouble comes when the plants start talking back.
- The main character, who's a museum curator, comes into posession of an ancient mask that's said to be able to posess other people if they put it on. The main character, not amused, puts it on a rat terrier. It flies off into the night, gaining new superpowers, and the main character has to get it back.
- The main charcter is terrified of their reflection. They become a roommate with someone who's obsessed with their reflection. This can either go a kind of sad/emotional route, or, you know, if you're like me, comedy.
- The main character of a cliche isekai (when an ordinary person is transported to a fantasy world) brings a gun. Shenanigans ensue.
- The sun isn't real. It's just a giant firefly.

-Teardrop fabric pattern
-What would happen if the MC couldn't feel physical pain?
-Where do you go in between doing things?
-Party
-Childhood friends
-One friend is jealous of everybody that their best friend talks to because they feel like their attention is being stolen
-Locker room
-Seeing an old campus during the late afternoon, bonus points for nostalgia + reminiscing
-Wheat field
-A world that is so much darker than you once thought (heavy isekai/transmigration vibes)
-A scenario where the MC gets angry/indignant, and how they express it
