Launching my ideaaaaa
Launching my ideaaaaa
So this is the RP thingy I was talking about here: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/436073
Basically, this will be an RP, but with only a few people! Maybe just the people who commented on that thread ^^^ becuz including me that's six, a good number for this.
We'll start out with one charrie each and make more if needed as we go along. But I thought first of all we could discuss, what genre/what kind of story will this be? I love fantasy best, and mystery would be fun. So those are ideas. We can have a vote i guess xD And when we're done with that, we can make the characters and after THAT we can decide how they are all related to each other and after THAT we can start writing. Whatever. We can just figure this out as it goes.
This will probably go pretty slowly, so please only join if you are committed and willing to take time with this!!! Thank you!!!! The purpose of this is to actually finish something for once, and have it be well written as well!
Yay

I'm really sorry for not responding! I haven't forgot about this, just got extremely busy and wasn't able to do anything. I'll try hard to post this weekend.

***I'm so sorry, I sort of abandoned this, didn't I? I'm not great at RPs. But here we go. Also, I think I've asked this before, but is it okay if I give Grace some sort of magic? I'm thinking it would be something about controlling the wind, reading the air, and that sort of thing. However, I know we didn't discuss anything of the sort earlier, so I want to get your input before I do anything big like that.****
Rayne~
I race behind Grace, trying to catch up with her. She can't do this. WHY is she doing this?! Azazel may not be the perfect ruler, but he's kept the kingdom together for years. We can trust him. I'm sure we can.
"Grace! Wait!"
My sister whirls around, looking fiercer than I've ever seen her be before. Her red hair is streaming in a sudden wind, and, in the hard light of the morning sun, it seems almost to be glowing. But when she speaks, her voice is gentle and pleading. "Rayne," she says. "Something is happening. Something big, and scary, and important. And I need to be a part of it. But I don't know if I can trust you." I stumble backwards. It feels as if she had slapped me. I trust Grace with everything. Ever since she was born, we have been as close as twins, despite the year that separates us. In the past few months, though, Grace has become different. And now she can't trust me?
"You can trust me, Grace. I'm your brother. Rayne."
Her expression is sad. "You need to choose. Who will you stand beside, Rayne? Me? Or our parents and Azazel? What I'm doing is dangerous. Really dangerous. And if I can't trust you completely. . ." she trails off, but I understand. If I do anything wrong, she will leave me. Forever. And nothing in the world could possibly hurt more than the thought of separation from my little sister.
"You can trust me," I say. Grace holds out one of her hands for me to grab, and, in a moment, I have left behind everything I have ever known.

I'm really sorry, but I can't post this weekend. Things came up. Hopefully later next week I can.

~ Lyra ~
A loud bugle note sounded faintly. Lyra jerked awake, someone needed help! She leapt from her bed, and started yanking on clothes and shoes, contacting Soror as she did so. Quickly Soror! Meet me on the launching platform!
Lyra glanced out her window as she snatched her weapons from their hooks on the wall, the sun had barely risen.
She tore out of her room and down the hallway, buckling her sword belt as she ran. Lyra dashed into the saddle room to grab Soror's saddle before continuing at a run to the launching platform.
Soror was already there when Lyra came running onto the platform. Lyra tossed the saddle onto Soror and strapped it on. She climbed on and started tying herself to the saddle. Lyra had barely finished tying the last strap before Soror launched herself into the air, massive wings beating as she followed the other dragons flying towards where the bugle had sounded.
Lyra glanced down as Soror circled over the prone figures of Kayda and Stella. Jasmine and Lexi were kneeling beside their dragons as healers patched the arrow wounds in the dragons' wings. Blood stained the ground.
Blue, gesturing wildly, was talking with Mr. Marrin.
Soror tilted her wings and they began to glide downwards. A movement caught Lyra's attention, she glanced up. Taking a sharp intake of breath she snatched an arrow from her quiver.
Soror paused mid glide, what is the matter, Lyra?
Lyra nocked her arrow. It's Daniel, he has a crossbow. He's pointing is at me.
Soror looked up and narrowed her eyes. Lyra could feel Soro's anger pulsing through their telepathic bond. How dare he, Soror growled. How dare he. Smoke trickled from Soror's mouth. Her muscles were tense with anger.
Lyra sensed Soror was about to launch herself at Daniel. "Soror, no!" Lyra cried, both verbally and telepathically. "Don't do it!"
Daniel released an arrow. Lyra flattened herself against Soror's neck and the arrow whistled past their heads.
Soror, land. Please, Lyra begged.
Soror hesitated, then: very well, Lyra.
Soror dove for the ground, landing beside Kayda.

Okay, since no one has responded to my question, I am going to assume that you are all okay with me giving Grace non-dragon-related magic. However, if you don't like it, or think it makes her a bit OP, we can just disregard this post.
Grace~
At first, I am a bit nervous. I have never tried controlling the winds away from my own room, much less in front of other people. And my brother, despite being my best friend, hasn't exactly proved that he truly wants to defeat Azazel. What if he betrays me?
But I push all the thoughts out of mind and concentrate on the wind. I still haven't gotten the hang of controlling it, and the wild freeness in the outdoors is much different from the tame currents I am used to manipulating in my room. I’m holding the air in my hands, and, as I look down, I see that my knuckles are white and it looks like I am trying to hold something that is non-existent. I twist my head around to look at my brother. The view up here is truly incredible, and I want to know what he thinks. Rayne’s eyes are bugging out of his face, and all I can do is hope he doesn’t lose his dinner. The winds are whirling around us, and I don’t even want to think about what would happen then.
The wind that I am supposed to be in control of seems to be attempting to get away from me. The air that I clench in my fists is tugging in the way that my dog, Cherry, used to do when she wanted to sniff a tree. It was as if it wanted to tell me something.
I look around. There’s nothing new in our surroundings. Except. . . is that. . . a dragon?
Rayne~
I must be going crazy. I always knew that Grace was special, but this is so different from her bright, slightly tasteless sundresses and always present laugh. This girl is strange, powerful, in ways that I never imagined before. Her face is twisted in concentration, and her hands move as if she is trying to guide a horse through a particularly difficult obstacle horse.
No.
That is too simple of an explanation. This is far different from the horse shows my sister used to love. We are flying high above the earth, and Grace is somehow controlling it. The whole thing is surrealistic, and, when I see the dragon, I decide that I am dreaming. However, since this is a dream, I may as well sit back and enjoy the ride. After all, this is better than any dream I’ve ever had before.
There are three dragons on the ground, and three people who are obviously their Riders. Two of the dragons seem to be injured, and the other one looks as if it (He? She? They?) has only just arrived. The Riders seem to be tumbling over themselves to heal the wings of the dragons. And there is another person, a man. He is holding a weapon that, as is usual in the curious manner of dreams, seems to be morphing between the forms of a harpoon and a bow and arrow. The man seems to be cursing at it in a way that my parents would explode at. Is it possible that this man shot the dragons? How could he have the heart to do such a thing? The dragon are so beautiful, so majestic and powerful. Everything about them seems to ooze power and nobility, and this man has injured them!
I am about to scream at him, shout that these dragons are more wonderful than anything he could ever pretend to be, and he had better leave them alone, when I drop several feet in the air, leaving my stomach behind me. I glance up at Grace. What happened? Perhaps she is attempting to dive. But, looking at her face, I know better. She is terrified. She lost control, and it’s everything she can do to keep us from falling to the ground with a splat and dying instantaneously. And, at that moment, I realize that this is not a dream, that the man below us is dangerous, and my sister has lost her grip around my waist and I am falling, falling, falling. . .
Well, there sure seems to be a lot of falling from the sky in this RP. And Majestic Mary, I know you didn’t want the harpoon to come into play at all, but I just couldn’t resist. Your typo was just too irresistible, and I had to put it into this, but if you don’t like it, that can just be disregarded as well.

Top! Top! This will not die because we love it! TOP!

Sorry for never answering your question, yes, it's okay for Grace to have that power. I might give my other charrie, Raven, the ability to read the wind (but not control it). And it's a-ok that you brought back the harpoon. I did think it was kind funny... Anyway, here's Lexi's perspective.
Lexi ~
Healers are scrambling to tend to the injured dragons, and Mr. Marren and other riders are trying to wrestle the harpoon out of Daniel's hands.
Just when I think the chaos can't get any worse, I see yet another figure falling from the sky. But this time, there's no dragon in sight - just two people tumbling down, down, towards the ground. Everything is happening too fast and I can hardly think as the two people land - right on top of Kayda. I can hear her strangled oomph echo through my head, and I immediately run over to check if she's okay. The healer tending to Kayda's wing jumps back in surprise as the two roll to the ground. There's one boy and one girl that look somewhat like siblings, but that's all I can tell.
"Who are you?" I demand as I stroke Kayda's side. No response - they are just surveying the scene. Suddenly, the boy's eyes widen and he looks like he wants to scream. I turn around to see what he's seeing, and realize that Daniel has escaped the grasp of the riders who were trying to restrain him, and the crossbow is still loaded in his hands.
I can't react fast enough. But the boy can. He runs and tackles Daniel to the ground, and while Daniel is trying to collect himself, I snatch the crossbow from his hands and toss it to Mr. Marren. Someone runs over and claps a pair of handcuffs (don't ask me where they came from) onto Daniel's wrists. He wriggles and tries to get to his feet, but many of the riders are already surrounding him. The girl runs to her brother to check on him, and in my mind, I can hear Kayda say:
we are safe.
