Hi! Okay, so this is just a casual RP; it doesn't have to have a real storyline or anything, just about life in the palace, secrets and romance and secret rooms and scandals and whatnot.
The setting is the kingdom of Esbeth. Prince Harry was murdered in his sleep, Princess Ruth was captured by a wyvern, and war with the land of Kohr is looming. But life in the palace goes on . . .
You may have as many charries as you like, with any position appropiate for a palace, though I would prefer that royals are NPCs.

Gender: Male
Position: Royal Guard
Time having worked/stayed at the palace: 2 years
Personality: Grumpy, seems cold and calculating, but has a soft side. He never shows it.
Appearance: Tall, muscular. Has dark hair, wears a guard uniform. His skin is pale and he has dark brown eyes.
Shipping status: Open
Relations to other palace people: He doesn't like anybody really, and nobody really likes him, but it's his job to protect the royal family with his life, and he will do that.
Other: He has a german shepherd named Rex.

Position: Seamstress, also a tailor. She makes and mends dresses for the aristocrats and royalty.

Personality: Quiet, introverted, gentle.
Appearance: Small and petite. She has dark skin and dark hair usually pulled back in a messy bun or ponytail. Bright blue eyes.

Just wondering, what time period is this? I know its in a different land, but what do they wear? And what is their transportation and such? Im getting a fantasy-ish/1930's feel.

Well like I said this is purely fantasy and you can do what you like with it though I was mostly thinking - have you ever read Gail Carson Levine's books, or Seraphine or Just Ella? If so like that. Not Middle Ages though.

Position: Training to become a personal medic/physician for the queen
Time having worked/stayed at the palace: Almost a year
Personality: Very happy and bubbly and cheerful. She's very sweet and also extremely accident prone, which is why she's still only in training.
Appearance: Looks to be of Asian origin. She has a round head, tanned skin and long, straight, dark hair. She's always smiling and usually wearing a colorful dress.

Relations to other palace people: She thinks she's friends with everyone but she probably isn't
Other: She should be done with her training but because she's so accident prone and can't take things seriously, they decided she required some extra training.

"....Gift of gold from Latia; they've had trouble with Kohr too, you know. It's coming next week."
"Are you sure it will be safe?"
"Of course, darling."
I stop outside the door to the king's parlor, where he and the queen are talking. A shipment of gold? Interesting.
Suddenly Ryan Kelver, the new servant boy, comes racing up the passage, feet light on the carpeted floor. "A message for you, sir." Smiling, he holds out a handwritten note on a scrap of paper.
As I read the note tears come to my eyes. My sister has died of starvation, my brother was forced to join the army, and my family has less food than ever.
"Any response, sir?" Ryan's voice is low at the sight of my tears.
I brush them off suddenly. "No. I mean - no. Thank you, boy."
"Yessir!" He races off down the passage.
Suddenly a thought occurs to me, a thought so daring it chills my bones. Dare I?
There's no time. "Ryan? Come back! I do indeed have a message for you!"
He comes back almost immediately - that boy moves fast.
"Tell one of the gardeners I want some nightshade," I say, praying he doesn't know what it is. The gardeners will, of course, but I have a habit of using poisonous plants for good and they shouldn't suspect anything. . .
"Yessir!"
The deed is done.

I hope it isn't too late to join! I might not post very often during July, because of NaNo and a how I'm in, but after that, I should be able to.
Full Name: Oliver Lucas Bennett

Gender: Male
Position: Palace Kitchens/Baker
Time having worked/stayed at palace: Three years, give or take a few months.
Personality: Very easygoing, gets along well with the other people in the kitchen and likes conversation. He'll talk to you for hours if you let him (nobody does). He's pretty inquisitive and always wants answers, a little more invested in palace gossip than he should be. He's a terrible, terrible liar, so he usually tries to tell the truth. He makes jokes at his own expense a lot, mainly to try to put other people at ease.
Appearance: Reddish-brown hair that's on the longer side and always getting in his eyes, lots of freckles along his nose and cheeks, hazel eyes, tall and lanky build. Usually wears trousers, a white shirt, and an apron.
Shipping Status: Open. @icarus, do you want to ship Oliver and Theodore?
Relations to other palace people: He's friends with Josephine Gebble, which is where he gets most of the gossip, and maybe he could be friendly with Luna, since they both work in the kitchens?
