Dear Cber,
Chatterbox: Inkwell
Dear Cber,
Dear Cber,
You are one of the selected few formally invited to the Somnum Exterreri Academy, otherwise known as S.E.A. Our Academy is the first of its kind, a school that specializes in the catching, research, and training of nightmares. You may not know this now, but your nightmares are caused by creatures called Night Terrors (NTs). They have the appearance of a monster but don't be intimidated by their looks. These creatures can be tamed with proper training.
Here at S.E.A., we defend the world from Daydreams/Daylings. You may think daydream creatures are good, but they are anything but. They lure their victims in and attack once their victims are completely absorbed in fantasy. The spike of recent disappearances of children is something we need to stop.
So sign up today to join S.E.A., to keep the world from drowning in dreams.
Signed the Headmaster,
Luna Lillith
Here is your sign up form! Hope to see you at S.E.A. (Only one sign up per Cber please!)

What would you like to name your NT once you meet them:
Name: Azlyn (Lyn) Estee
Age (12-18): 15
Appearance: Kind of short, bright red hair that's been braided behind her back, slim, fair skin covered in freckles, bright emerald eyes, likes wearing green hoodies and purple shorts, only wears sneakers, wearing a small gold necklace with an eye carved in the pendant.
Personality: Lyn is pretty friendly, but only after you've known her for a bit. She prefers to observe to gain knowledge than to actually do anything. She's sort of quiet but when she gets angry she turns into a whole new person. She's a lover of books and loves learning knowledge for the sake of knowledge.
Backstory (Keep this short if you can!): Her little brother Farall went missing when she was nine. When she asked her parents what happened to him they only said: "He just liked the world in his mind better than the real one." As soon as she figured out what a Dayling was, she knew exactly what happened to her brother, and wanted to find a way to get him back.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Her strength is her ability to deduce, sort of like Sherlock does in the BBC version. From her years of observing, she has a pretty good understanding of how the world works. Her weakness, along with her lack of physical strength, is her lack of patience and trust. When someone is taking to long to understand something she is explaining, she can get very annoyed and a little aggressive. Her parents constantly lying and keeping secrets from her keeps her from trusting people until they prove they are genuine.
Worst Fear (This will play into how your NT looks later in the story): The Fog/not being able to see
What would you like to name your NT once you meet them: Fernando
I only have one thing to say to you before you go. Just remember: Not everything is as it seems. Keep your eyes open, for if you close them it might cost your life.
Whatever you do...
Don't fall asleep.

This is my character. He's kinda wierd.
Name: Stephan (Pronounced STEP-HAN) Plrgshmt
Age: 16.2
Appearance: Stephan is kinda similar in appearance to a goat. He has grey-black fuzzy hair with orange colored eyes that never seem like they're focusing on one point. He has ears that are set a little further back than normal and rather pointy. His face is long, his neck stretched, and his chin pointy.
Personality: Stephan is odd. He moves eraticly, as if he decides what he's going to do as he does it. He talks to himself and doesn't really seem to understad why he does half the things he does. He's not very self-aware either, and typically has no idea why people are staring at him so strangely.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Stephan is simple, yes but this gives him a kind of inner peace that people more intelligent or deep tend not to have. He's cool under pressure, but sticks out like a sore thumb in a crowd and doesn't seem to be understood by anybody. A loner, but mostly by choice, as he finds it difficult to meaningfully communicate with anyone.
Worst Fear (This will play into how your NT looks later in the story): Spectrophobia (the fear of looking at one's self).
What would you like to name your NT once you meet them: Nahpets (Pronounced NAH-pets)

When can we start?
Here's another guy charrie if its alright. I'm sorta impatient. ;p
Name: Bear
Age (12-18): 17
Appearance: sturdy built, but on the smaller size for a guy his age, like 5'8. Warm tan skin with a few freckles and hazel eyes. Usually wears a goofy half-smile on his face. Messy light brown hair that sticks up towards the front. Usually wears a blue shirt with shorts. Also has a necklace with a shark's tooth, and two stripes tattooed on his right arm to represent his pacific native ancestry. Has a leather braided anklet.
Personality: kind, optimistic, tries his hardest to please or impress people. Always gives everything 110%, without expecting much in return. Although he cares a lot about things like grades and skills, he pretends he doesn't and that everything he does comes naturally to him. Extroverted. Strives to be liked by everyone, or have extremely hated enemies, no in between. Used to never being good enough, so he pretends he doesn't try.
(Optional) Backstory (Keep this short if you do it!): his parents were divorced, his mom lost custody and his father always expected too much from him. Everything he did, every accomplishment he made was never good enough. He thought by joining this he could make himself useful, and maybe his father wouldn't be as dissapointed in him.
Strengths/Weaknesses: good at sports and athletic things along with people skills and smarts. He's not very good at expressing his feelings, and when he does it can get a little messy. When he gets frustrated he isn't good at anything and can't concentrate, and has a very short fuse, but will apologize later because he doesn't like people staying mad at him.
Worst Fear (This will play into how your NT looks later in the story): Never being good enough, being a disappointment.
What would you like to name your NT once you meet them: Buc. its cub spelled backwards, and his mom used to call him bear cub before she got divorced and wasn't allowed to see him. She always belived in him, and was proud of him.

I'm here! I'm so so sorry Ice Wolf, I told you I would join but my only excuse is that I forgot. But here I am now.
Name: River
Age: 16
Appearance: tall and athletic, but curvy. hazel eyes, curly brown hair to her shoulders. likes simple clothes such as hoodie and jeans, with perhaps the occasional ring or bracelet.
Personality: ENTJ
Strengths/weaknesses: determined, can persevere through anything, so long as she's not doing it alone. however, she can be very impatient and has a bit of a temper.
Worst fear: abandonment/losing loved ones
NT name: Andromeda
This is a rather sparse charrie sheet, and I'm really sorry, but I'm actually supposed to be doing homework right now... shh, don't tell

Since it looks like the signups are done that means it's almost time for us to start! I'll be adding in a few more characters that won't have stories told from their point of view. Unless something in the plot changes.
We will be starting very soon! I am writing the first section as we speak!

Hello everyone! I am pleased to announce that the gates to S.E.A. have been opened! Ready for your newest adventure full of wondrous creatures and literal living nightmares. Keep your eyes open at every turn! You never know what could be there! Thank you for waiting!
Welcome to S.E.A.
Lyn~
I jerk awake to the sound of rocks banging against my windowsill. Normally I would be extremely paranoid about loud clunking noises right outside my window, but I know exactly who is causing this. Armando, or Dodo as we call him. He's the youngest kid in the neighborhood and for some reason, he's grown to like me a lot. Sluggishly, I pop the hinges on the window and slide it open.
"What does a girl have to do to get some sleep around here, Dodo?" I yell down at the smiling six-year-old. Now that I see him, I see just how messy he is. His hair is disheveled and I see mud smudged on his legs. He must have gotten up early and run over here so he could say goodbye.
"No sleep! I'm more important than sleep!" Dodo shouts at me. When he laughs you can see he has a few teeth missing. Gosh, I love this kid. He reminds me a lot of what Farall acted like.
I slam the window closed, throw on a random t-shirt and jeans, quickly braid my hair, snatch up my letter, and dash down the stairs. Dodo gets impatient really quickly so I need to hurry to see him.
I give a quick wave to my parents who watch me as I yank the door open and practically leap onto the driveway. "Hey, big guy!" I laugh, picking up Dodo and spinning him around. "You're almost too big for me to do that anymore!"
Dodo giggles and hugs me. After I stop spinning him he suddenly remembers why he came here. "I'm going to miss you, Lyn."
"I'll miss you too bud. I won't have anyone to be my morning alarm clock!" I joke, ruffling his hair.
"Hey!" He protests. "Stop I have something I want to give you!"
"Alright," I sigh. "Let's see what you've got."
Out of his pocket, Dodo pulls out a golden pendant. "My mother said this gives good luck. Like the eye is protecting you." He points to the carving of an eye in the center of the pendant proudly. "Look the gem is the same color as your eyes!" He shows me the emerald in the iris.
"Oh my gosh, it's beautiful, Dodo." I stare in awe at the pendant.
"I know!" He jumps up and down a bit before running behind me and tying the leather strap around my neck. "There! Now you have something to remember me!"
I pick up the pendant. For its small size, it sure has a decent weight to it. I toss it up and down in my hand a few times before going in to hug Dodo again. "Thanks, bud. Now go run home. I'm sure your mother is worried about you running off again." I tease.
"Okay fine. Goodie-two-shoes." He sticks out his tongue at me before jumping into the bushes and dashing back home.
I sigh. Seriously I am going to miss that kid. I hope he stays safe while I'm gone. With how common the Dayling attacks are, and how much of a daydreamer he is, I've been really worried about him.
He'll probably be fine. His older brothers Wren and Hawk will keep him safe. Right?
---
After finally packing all of the rest of my things, I'm ready to go. My parents both bid me farewell.
"Be sure to be careful. Those... monsters are despicable. I honestly can't believe you're willing to go!" My mother tells me.
"Yes," my father agrees, "Even though N.T.s are better than Daylings, they're still both monsters. They're part of the same family."
"I know they're dangerous, but they're sort of our last hope," I say.
"Sorry we are just worried," My mother confesses. "You'll do great."
"Make sure you call us every night! You know, if the school is rich enough to have such rarities as working phones. Those Daylings have been destroying telephone lines all over the place-" My father starts his rant, but before he can finish I interrupt.
"I will I promise! I have to go." With the tearful goodbyes over with, I board onto the Academy bus. An eager busman takes my bags. He looks to be about my age with longish honey blond hair pulled into a small ponytail, warm eyes, fair skin, and a friendly smile.
The boy greets me, "Hello. My name is Will. I'm just helping out my mother today with bags. Her Night Terror bit her leg and she isn't allowed to carry anything." Will gestures to a really tall women sitting in the bus driver's seat.
She almost looks nothing like Will, with black spiky hair and a tanned skin, except for the eyes, which were equally as friendly. She gives me a shy wave before putting her hands back on the wheel.
---
Soon, the bus is crowded with all sorts of different people. Some tall, some short, pale and dark, loud and quiet, brains and brawn, all crammed in a small space. I've been on the bus for hours and it's starting to get to me. There doesn't seem to be anything around us but rocky cliffs and animals. There is a damp grey canyon to the left of me and miles of empty black sanded desert to the right.
Right as I am about to call it quits and ask the driver to drop me off at the nearest... well anything, a mansion came into view. Giant stone walls, towers, and a huge metal gate grow up. It almost looks like a castle or even a small town, but it is all one campus. The very famous Somnum Exterreri Academy. As the gates open and let us through, the air around us seems to shift a bit. Suddenly, a wave of uneasiness hits me. Something just seems sort of off about this place. Almost fake, if you will. But that feeling is soon replaced with wonder as a giant iron statue shows through the window.
The statue is of Luna Lillith and her famous N.T. The inked wolf. Her statue is moving and bending, almost like it is alive. The wolf's body drips with thick globs of ink. Luna Lillith is not only the founder of the school but the first person to ever successfully tame an N.T. in the history of... well... ever.
The bus pulls in and we are escorted to the main door of the biggest building. Dramatically, the doors creak open to reveal Luna Lillith in all her glory. Many people gasp at the sight of her. She is a wonder that is for sure. She's a skinny woman with hair as white as snow itself, it's long and almost drags along the ground behind her. Her legs from the knees down have been stained black from when her N.T. attacked her, and of course, her most noticeable feature: her wheelchair. It's decorated in S.E.A.'s logo up and down and the wheels seem to be made of gold. She wheels down to us and begins her introduction.
"Welcome everyone! You have all been specifically chosen as gifted children showing promise of being able to control your own Night Terrors!" She proclaims. "This is no easy task; very few have the ability to do so. Not all of you will be able to. If you do, you might gain scars such as mine," She gestures down to her legs. They almost look like they're melting. "But! All of you have been chosen for greatness. Here your greatness shall begin! Here, at S.E.A. you'll be turned into heroes! I wish you all good luck! I'll leave you to my trusty assistant Igor." She gestures to a tall bulky figure in the shadows. Out stomps a seven-foot tall man with a small red fox looking creature around his neck, which must be his N.T.
"Alright everyone, ready to see the rest of the campus?" A voice asks. Everyone looks around to try to find who is speaking because Igor's mouth hasn't moved one bit.
"Ahem, over here." The voice says again. Everyone looks back at Igor to see his N.T. flicking his tail impatiently. "Well, shall we?" The fox creature asks. Everyone is stunned at this, Igor just silently smiles.
"Oh yes, I forgot," Luna Lillith speaks up, "Igor here has been mute ever since a Dayling attack, but his N.T. Ember is more than willing to tell you what Igor is thinking." She gestures to the tiny fox. "Adieu, everyone!" Luna shouts as she zips in her wheelchair back into the darkness.
Igor leads everyone around the school and shows then the different dorms.
"Over here," Ember gestures. "Is the dorm Lucidum, where most of the seniors and masters live. You all will be living a few dorms down. That is where all beginners go, both girls and boys. Into the dorm Misce. You all will be trusted to behave and report any suspicious behavior. On your invitation, there will be your room numbers. I suggest you get to unpacking. Classes start tomorrow." Igor thumps over to the door of Misce and opens it, letting everyone in. "Good day!" Ember yells before shutting the door behind everyone.
I slowly pull out my letter to check for the number and sigh. It's going to be a long day. I'm excited but already exhausted. I just hope whoever I am rooming with won't wear me out anymore.

Hyra~
I stare at the giant building in front of me and hum contentedly. It sure is beautiful here. Lots of other kids mull about, various Night Terrors sometimes trailing in their footsteps. I wonder what mine will look like... I shudder. I don't want to know what the manifestation of my worst fear will look like. All I know is that its name will be Aryh. After taking a deep breath, I walk through the main doors.

Stephan~
"Rooms, numbers, people..." I muttered to myself. "54. Room 54. Gotta find it, gotta unpack, gotta sleep. Easy." I walk down the long hallway searching the walls for the brass number that will determine my home for a while. Thankfully, I am given a wide berth. People tend to let me pass through areas rather easily, though I've never quite understood why. It wasn't long before I came to Room 54. I knew it was Room 54 because of the brass numbers '54' on the door. I twisted the doorknob and walked inside, bending my neck to pass through the archway. My roommate(s) hadn't arrived yet. Doubtlessly caught in the hustle and bustle of the crowd outside. The dorm was centered around a circular room with beds and enough space to put things down around each bed. I sat down on the bed furthest from the door and placed my light tan bag down on it and began to unpack.
A thought struck my mind and I bolted upright immediately. I hopped off of my bed and walked briskly to the bathroom, making sure to avoid the reflective surface of the wall mirror. I balled my hand into a fist and smashed the mirror with one quick blow. It shattered with a loud crashing noise, and my hand was cut slightly. And that was the moment my roommate decided to open the door.
(November 14, 2018 - 5:20 pm)
Well, you still can join now. Right now is probably the best time to do it. Right before everything starts really going.
