You are one of the selected few formally invited to the Somnum Exterreri Academy, otherwise known as S.E.A. Our Academy is the first of its kind, a school that specializes in the catching, research, and training of nightmares. You may not know this now, but your nightmares are caused by creatures called Night Terrors (NTs). They have the appearance of a monster but don't be intimidated by their looks. These creatures can be tamed with proper training.
Here at S.E.A., we defend the world from Daydreams/Daylings. You may think daydream creatures are good, but they are anything but. They lure their victims in and attack once their victims are completely absorbed in fantasy. The spike of recent disappearances of children is something we need to stop.

Name: Azlyn (Lyn) Estee
Age (12-18): 15
Appearance: Kind of short, bright red hair that's been braided behind her back, slim, fair skin covered in freckles, bright emerald eyes, likes wearing green hoodies and purple shorts, only wears sneakers, wearing a small gold necklace with an eye carved in the pendant.
Personality: Lyn is pretty friendly, but only after you've known her for a bit. She prefers to observe to gain knowledge than to actually do anything. She's sort of quiet but when she gets angry she turns into a whole new person. She's a lover of books and loves learning knowledge for the sake of knowledge.
Backstory (Keep this short if you can!): Her little brother Farall went missing when she was nine. When she asked her parents what happened to him they only said: "He just liked the world in his mind better than the real one." As soon as she figured out what a Dayling was, she knew exactly what happened to her brother, and wanted to find a way to get him back.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Her strength is her ability to deduce, sort of like Sherlock does in the BBC version. From her years of observing, she has a pretty good understanding of how the world works. Her weakness, along with her lack of physical strength, is her lack of patience and trust. When someone is taking to long to understand something she is explaining, she can get very annoyed and a little aggressive. Her parents constantly lying and keeping secrets from her keeps her from trusting people until they prove they are genuine.
Worst Fear (This will play into how your NT looks later in the story): The Fog/not being able to see

Appearance: Auburn hair, silngularly heterochromatic eyes, lightly tanned skin, average height, broad shoulders, hourglass figure.
Personality: INTJ. I don't know what I'm doing I just searched 'MBTI' and it was the first one that showed up. *Shrugs*
Backstory: TBD
Strengths/Weaknesses: Hyra is physically and mentally strong, but she tends to overthink things and she easily makes people exasperated because she's having fun in a verbal debate but they think she's bickering with them for no reason.
Worst Fear (This will play into how your NT looks later in the story): Herself. She knows she has the potential to turn into a villain.
What would you like to name your NT once you meet them: Aryh, because she wants her fear to be the opposite of herself.

Whoa... WAY too cool to pass up!
Name: Winnie Rosewood
Age: 12
Appearance: Indian, wide, sparkling, brown-black eyes with long eyelashes, skinny and flexible, slightly wavy thick black hair that hangs down to her thighs (she either wears it down or in two braids), likes to wear colorful, traditional Indian scarves with a simple but pretty cotton dress with a skirt that billows out when she twirls
Personality: A ray of sunshine, Winnie is always happy and smiling, bouncing on the balls of her feet and skipping around/twirling (pretty much a Pollyanna), radiates youth and joy; she's outgoing, friendly, helpful, and trustful to a fault; she's really naive, childish, and gullible too, always believing what other people tell her, really imaginative and creative... she kind of lives in her head, so she's particulary vulnerable to the Daylings (luckily they haven't attacked her yet)
Backstory: Raised in a wealthy family as an only child, but when she was really little she had an older brother who went missing because of the Daylings; as a result, her parents are a bit overprotective of Winnie and dislike how she's always in her head, thinking the Daylings are going to get her any day
Strengths/Weaknesses: She has a happy aura around her and always manages to cheer people up; very easily likable--she manages to bring the good out in everyone, even the most grumpy and bitter people, but she trusts too easily and is very gullible; also, her imagination makes her very vulnerable to the Daylings
Worst Fear: the dark/what she imagines is in the dark

Name: Astelle Rose Estefan (double name, goes by Astelle)
Age: 13
Apperance: Tall, lanky build. Around 5'3", sort of tall for her age. Caucasion. Long, loose curled, fire colored hair that goes to middle of her waist. Bright green eyes. If she stares at you, she can almost instantly strike fear into one's heart. A splash of freckles across her nose. Is most likely wearing a brown-green colored tunic, a short, navy blue skirt, and leggings the color of her tunic.
Personality: Astelle is an introvert, very shy at times. She is very intelligent, and excels at academics. She can be very ignorant, and wants to do her own thing. Astelle almost never talks, letting her go wild and free into her own world, imagining stories, fantastical moments, among other things. This makes her vulnerable to Daylings, but has never been stolen.
Backstory: Astelle has 2 brothers-Scott and Ernest-and one sister-Crystal. Scott and Ernest were taken by daylings when Astelle was merely seven. She and her parents have hung on to Crystal, the baby of the family. Crystal, now eleven, will come to the Academy next year.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Astelle loves to read, and devours anything. She can really draw, and loves to use watercolors to paint portraits of people. Astelle is very cautious, and always hesitates when asked to make a decision. Many people underestimate her, thinking she isn't very smart.
Worst Fear: Losing Crystal to Daylings.
What you would like to name your NT: Emily, after her first and only friend, the only person who really understands her.

Name: Valentina Katherine (goes by VK or Val)
Age (12-18): 16
Appearance: Latina, dark skin, lithe but strong build, silky black hair with two amber streaks by her face. Round face, big amber-brown eyes, full lips, sorta curvy, very strong. Wears a black crop top and flowy amber pants. Has an amber stud bellybutton piercing. (or if the admins won't allow that) a gold stud lip piercing. Short for her age, rarely wears shoes, usually wears mascara but just that. Tattoo of a golden jaguar on her shoulder. Gold hoop earrings in three piercings on her left side, one helix on her right.
Personality: Outgoing, loves adventure, kind to those who deserve it. Sarcastic, snappy, uses dry humor to cover up her flaws. She's very defensive and never opens up to people. When she does she regrets it and doesn't talk to them again. She's very loyal, and will be loyal to someone without needing them to be loyal to her. She's used to be hurt and lied to. A protector. Will defend basically everyone. Hates death, but isn't afraid of it. Kind and extroverted, likes socializing, doesn't like being alone, doesn't like being defenseless and when she feels vulnerable (which is a lot) her fight or flight will kick in. She's a fighter. Because she doesn't trust a lot of people, and is defensive, and blacked out most of her past, and afraid of being hurt again even though she's used to it, she runs away to her head, and daydreams of a better life. She knows it's bad, but she can't stop. She thinks this Acadamy will help her.
(Optional) Backstory (Keep this short if you do it!): abusive past, parents lied to her a lot, could never keep a friend, every 'relationship' she's been in weren't good ones. And although she's broken, this just makes her even more of a fighter, as she will fight for others to have better lives.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Fighter, will do anything for others, but often helps others before helping herself which makes things even worse for her. She's kind and is very determined to help people. Although she can't get close to others and has very bad trust issues (no matter how much she tries to hide it) will flinch if touched, but rarely lashes out, unless someone deserves it. Is not assertive, but she will be as she gets comfortable in a group or surroundings or if she's doing something helpful. Blames herself for everything that goes bad.
Worst Fear (This will play into how your NT looks later in the story): is afraid of being hurt/ hurting others (afraid of the world crumbling away around her, losing someone/thing meaningful in her life and it being her fault) and of being alone/ defenseless.
What would you like to name your NT once you meet them: Ciaran (little dark one cause she isolates herself bc this fear) and Shane (gets lonely and imagines things). Can I have two? She's a broken child.
Other: She's bi. Can be shipped to both genders if wished. (is there any guy ones yet...?)

Anyway to answer your questions: Normally people only have one NT, but I suppose you can get away with two. Especially if they were connected in some way like conjoined twins or in more of a mental sense if you prefer.
No, so far no male characters. If none sign up I'll make a few myself. There will be boy characters in the story that attend the school.

Oh yea, what were you thinking for like the mental sense? Maybe the first one could be the 'real' one, then the other one could be in her mind...maybe he could be a dayling? oh that would be cool. Like, he could be posing as a Ninghtling (i forgat what they were called hope thats right) and then he was really a dayling or something. Dunno. Or they could just be conjoined twins ;p
