Spontaneous RP!
Spontaneous RP!
Sometimes I feel like we get so caught up in the developement and rules of a RP that it dies before we even make it very far (I know that's happened to me...Combat Cliff RPG, Griffinfeather RPG the first...and more).
So, let's just do some writing.
two rules.
1. Put forth your absolute best. Even if it's not going to be published or maybe no one else but me will read it. It's good for your writing. Trust me.
2. Make sure everything lines up! Mostly!! Inserting random flying unicorns is okay, but killing a character off and then making them reappear might be a little confusing.
If you are still confuzzled, check out this thread to see what I mean:
http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/65463
just make up a character and join the story. You can be a character I've mentioned or somebody new. My characters are Pheonix and Carlena.
Without further ado, let us begin.
~
"Carlena scratched at the wall's smooth surface, her heart pounding so loud she could hardly think. The dark rectangle seemed to close in around her, pressing in on all sides; squeezing her lungs flat and yanking away all the oxygen. The air was hot and sizzling with frusteration and fear. Throwing herself against the wall, Carlena melted onto the floor. She was stuck. Enclosed in a horrible crystal box while her own dear sister, Caroll, was set on destroying Jewel Academy. All she could do was sit here, helpless and terrified out of her wits, while Caroll did away with everything she worked towards. Carlena tried to take a calming breath and found she could not breath. The walls were closing in...her eyes whirled crazily around the shadows; searching for an exit. If Cassey doesn't get the children out of the academy in time, they'll all... Carlena let out a frusterated gasp of despiration. Oh come on, Carlena! You can't let a little claustrophobia defeat you, girl! She said to herself. The spunky Galaxy Witch sat up slowly and brushed back the gigantic bush of chalk-white, ankle length hair from her damp forehead. Carlena then—"
"Pheonix! Jaihra's on the phone!" My older sister called from downstairs.
"COMING!" I yelled back, dropping The Charming Adventures of Carlena the Galaxy Witch to the floor. Galexia looks up at me in surprise from her nest of pillows on the floor, her eyes clouded, obviously still deep inside the story.
"But...that's not fair! Nixie!" My little sister moans, "What happens to Carlena? What happens to the seven sisters and the academy?"
"You're just going to have to find out next time!" I say with a wink. Galexia shakes her head furiously, sending her fluffy brown pigtails into a frenzy,
"It's not fair that I don't get to see what happens next because you wanna go talk to your giiiiirlfriend," she says angrily. On the last word, an evil smile begins to curl on her lips. I stop half-way to the door.
"Jaihra is NOT my girlfriend. And we have very important things to talk about," I retort hotly before rushing out of Galexia's frilly, pink bedroom and down the stairs, taking the story book with me. The wood steps creak under my feet as I race down, nearly slipping on the last one.
"Yeah, Jaihra, he's coming," I hear my 21-year-old sister, Andromeda, say, Rounding the corner, I can see her leaning against the counter in a red tank top and shorts, her long brown hair in a messy braid over one shoulder. She has my phone tucked between her hear and shoulder while she casually flips through pages of her sketchbook, twirling a bright blue pencil with her free hand.
"I'm here!" I yell breathlessly in her face.
"Took you long enough," she says, rolling her eyes and handing over the phone, "go take your chatting upstairs. You two 'll talk my ears off. Upstairs!" She commands, pointing her pencil.
"Hi Jaihra!" I greet into the phone.
"Hi Pheonix! Ummm...are you alone??" She asks cautiously, "I have an update on...you know...project Milky Way Sorceress and...uh...the Precious Stone School," she hints not-so-subtly.
"Yeah, just a sec," I answer, dashing back upstairs to my room and bouncing onto my bed.
"Okay! Shoot!" I exclaim, tossing down the story book beside me. It flips open to the title page; which is covered with words I'm glad Galexia can't read yet.
For my nephew, Pheonix. I hope you enjoy my charming adventures!!! Please keep in mind that these are all absolutely true and my heroism was not exagerated in the least. Hope that you can soon join me in Jewel Academy! Once you set out on your journey to find it, that is.

Your Aunt Carlena, the spunky Galaxy Witch
P.S. do not show this to anyone or I may have to incenerate them.
I let the book cover slide closed. Yeah, Galaxia, we do have important things to talk about.

This is a little short story, but it will tie into the rest of the story! :)
~Jaihra~
(7 years earlier)
"'Sister, I'm almost positive Caroll won't be here.' Catherina mused.
'Caroll is not the reason we are here Cath, can't you feel it?' Carlena touched her hand to a tree. 'The magical force on this planet is different.' Catherina touched her hand to the tree. Indead, the life force of the earth wasn't like galexial magic. Almost like a distant relative.
'I think there are other magical children here.' Carlena said, excitedly.
'Will they be able to find the academy? I don't know if you've looked around, but they don't even have electricity! Much less ships.' Catherina pointed out, raising an eyebrow.
'We'll leave them some magic. Pure, galexial, magic. Come on, hands out!' They both extended their hand, and gave some magic to the tree. It double in size, and seemed to glow. Carlena smiled, and they started to walk back to their ship.
'WHOA!' Carlena and Catherina turned around, confused. 'You are real!' In front of them was a small boy.
'Carlena, did you forget your charm?' I looked at my chest, and there was a glowing blue heart. How could this boy see us?
'You have white powers! And you have black powers! I saw someone with silver powers once, but no one believed me.' Carlena crouched down to meet the boy's level.
'Silver powers? Tell us more.''
"Andromeda, let them get some sleep, it's a school night tomorrow!" Phoenix's mom called from the doorway. She was carrying Nixie's baby sister Galexia. Phoenix's mom looked exhausted; she had bags under her eyes and her bright yellow hair was tied into a messy bun.
"Just 5 more minutes!"
"We're about to find out about silver magic!" Andromeda smiled tiredly, and ruffled Nixie's brown(!) hair.
"Not now you little asteroids. You've got to go to sleep."
"We do not! We need to know what happens to Carlena and Catherina!" I exclaimed.
"Carlena and Catherina don't exist. It's a story! I've got to go kiddos, once you get to highschool, you get a lot less time to sleep." Andromeda walked out of Phoenix's bedroom, and closed the door.
"Carlena is real!" Nixie exclaimed. He crossed his arms. "I wonder if I have magic. I want blue magic."
"Of course you have magic. It's yellow though, sorry." Phoenix turned to me suddenly.
"YOU CAN SEE MY ARA?!" As he go excited, a light yellow halo surrounded him. I blinked, confused.
"It's 'aura', and of course, you're glowing right now. You can't see it?" He toppled out of bed, and over to his mirror.
"I can't see it!" He frowned. Then he extended his arm, and furrowed his brow in concentration.
"Nixie, nothing is happening. Come on, let's go to sleep. We get our Bytes tomorrow, remember?"
"Oh yeah." We both layed down. "One last thing: have you seen someone with silver magic??"
"No. Not yet at least. Goodnight Nixie."
"Goodnight Jai."

May I use content from this for a CB Book? (http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/chirpatcricket/node/377642)
(August 19, 2018 - 1:05 pm)
Sure! All right with me. That sounds like a great idea. Please let me know how it all turns out! Are you planning to include some threads from older CBers who've left too?
(August 19, 2018 - 9:12 pm)
Thanks! I’m mostly using recent stuff, but I think I’ll put in a few old things. If the CBer in question has left, I’ll pretend they gave me permission from the beyond or something XD

Animals seem to like Phoenix. I just realized that. Like the pegasi and the dolphins. I guess they have more of his crazy energy than humans do!
Phoenix~
The water sparkles with playful rays of light every time my dolphin and I come up for a breath. I've named him Jeffrey. Jeffry Gostopolas III of Earth.
As we go for another pass around the ship, Andromeda calls out, "Hey Sacra, do you think you can help us out a minute? We might be able to use your power to charge the ship. It's worth a try." Before plunging back into the water. This time when I surface, I come up close to Jaihra and splash water on her.
"HEY!"
"Gotcha!" I yell gleefully, preparing to take another dive.
Something grabs my foot and yanks me backwards. My face drags through the water, and for a second I can't breath until it lets go. Spluttering, I surface, only to be splashed in the face.
"Gotcha," Jaihra mimics, smirking. And thus begins a full-on splash war. Raja springs at me from behind, while Zephyr dive-bombs us from above, kicking up water in our faces. Even Sam joins in a little.
At a break in the game, I glance up to see Saphira flying around in circles, panicking, while Lyra helps Galexia onto the top of the bobbing ship.
"Hey! Come down here!" I called up.

MOR OH MY GOSH WHY DID YOU SUMMON THE ARMY!!!
(August 23, 2018 - 2:46 pm)
Darkking you are so sweet and that's really pretty! Thanks for thinking of me! You just made my day!
(August 23, 2018 - 4:49 pm)
Lyra~
Galexia and I watch Phoenix and Jaihra's splash war amusedly, enjoying the hilarious banter and paybacks and hollering. Glancing over at Galexia, I'm glad to notice the grin on her face, free of worry. At least she can forget about her magic for a little while.
I let out a quiet sigh of contentment. Finally having real friends has never felt so good.
Suddenly, Phoenix's shout jerks my attention back to the water. "Hey! Come down here!" A smile twirks my lips. "Nah, I'm good!" "Aw c'mon, don't be a party pooper! Or are you too scared to get wet?" he calls back teasingly.
Just as he finishes his reply, I hear footsteps behind me and turn to see Dathan walking out, looking like a mechanic in his grime-streaked clothes.
"Hey Dathan, you come on down too!" Phoenix shouts out exuberantly. "Maybe YOU can convince Lyra to get in and get wet! Galexia too!" Dathan grins. "Getting wet doesn't sound to bad right now!" he replies.
Now he turns to me. "C'mon, Lyra, just for a bit." he nudges in a teasing tone. "I said I'm good," I reply with a bit of a smile. "Well I'll come!" offers Galexia. Dathan shrugs. "Alright, then... ."
And without further ado, Galexia jumps off the edge of the ship. As Dathan starts to make a running leap for the water, without warning he grabs my arm before I even realize what's happening and we are falling through the air towards the water. If I use my wings now, I'll have to flap them to hard to stop in midair; I would hit Dathan with them!
All in a matter of seconds, we fall into the blue-green waves. My feet hit sandy bottom and I open my eyes under the water. I think Dathan's blurry form is grinning at me. Then he pushes off the ocean floor.
With a slight undercurrent of panic as I realize that my lungs are starting to burn and my wings are feeling somewhat weighted by the water, I push off hard, and just as I surface, I am met with a faceful of salty water.
Coughing and spluttering and taking deep gulps of air, I rub my eyes of the irritating sea water and find Dathan, half grinning, half smirking at me. "You are so on," I respond.~

Hello there, it's Fidelity, resident thread reviving plot twist creating fairy! *Rubs hands together.* Two days? This calls for serious measures...
Jai~
"Hey Sacra? Do you think you could help us out a minute? We think we could use your powers to power the ship." Andromeda calls out. That could work. Sacra's magic was unique, no do- I screech, as Phoenix splashes a wave of salty water into my face. It's on. I lunge for his ankle, and pull him underwater.
"Gotcha." Phoenix smirks, and I can tell he's planning something. Suddenly, something bites my leg. I scream, but soon I'm pulled underwater by some gnarly earth monster. When I resurface, I see a mischevious looking creature next to me.
"GO JEFFREY GO!" Phoenix shouts. "Jeffrey" does a corkscrew midair, gaining some extra air time thanks to Phoenix's magic. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Lyra and Dathan in the water too.
Through all of the madness, none of the "kids" noticed a glowing aura surround the ship.
"Guys, I think it worked!" Andromeda called. "Dominique, Dathan, can you give it a go?" Dathan pulled himself out of the water, and headed to the left engine to do some check ups.
"Come on Nixie, let's go see if it worked!" We clambured back onto the ship. It took Phoenix a few attemps to dry us off, but eventually it worked. I made my way to the cabin, where Raja was already sitting. Andromeda had her headset on, and was busy helping Dominique. The rest of the crew came in.
"I think it's working. It didn't magically fix the plane of course, but it's holding the levels pretty well. To do this, I think we need to add another member to our crew." Dominique said. Andromeda turned to the confused brown haired girl in the corner.
"It's your choice Sacra, but if you want, we'd love for you to join us."
"I don't know. I just... I don't want to feel like I'm alone anymore. All my life I feel like I don't belong." Andromeda kneeled next to Sacra.
"I get what it feels like Sacra. We all do. Here on the Amethyst, were all misfits. And were heading to the capital of misfits: Jewel Academy. It's a whole school for magical people! It's a big change, I know, but we would love to have you. So what do you say, do you want to join our band of misfits?" Andromeda held out her hand.
Smiling, Sacra took it.
"So where to?"
"To! Um..." Phoenix looked to Andromeda. Andromeda looked confused too.
"Jaihra, maybe pull out that Byte and do some research." I pulled up my dashboard.
"Raja, what are we close to?" Raja opened the map. Galexia looked at awe at all the planets and stars. In the corner of my byte, I could see a processing signal. Huh. I wasn't processing anything... I opened up the code, and started analyzing the incoming signals.
"Wait guys, I think I'm getting a message or something." I run my signature Hacking Program.. A file pops up on the screen. Everyone crouds around to watch.
...Intercepting. Transfering file to Student4389_JaihraTrey.
This file has been blocked by the SafeLandProtocol.
Protocol overided. Loading file.
"Jaihra? I hope .... recieve this message. I'm pretty sure you're the only person in .... galexy who can obtain this file. I hope I'm right. Anyway, I have to .... short, becuase I'm running out of time. Oh .... they're after me. I need help. Please .... quick! I'm at .....! Please hur-"
The recording ended. Who was this person? The recording was far to blurry, and they didn't give a name. Everyone else looked as clueless as I did. Galexia broke the silence.
"What are you guys waiting around for! DAD'S IN TROUBLE!"
Dad? Was that Mr. Starz?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Cackles evily* In case you don't remember, Mr Starz left two weeks before the crew in search of Chastice (I think), his wife.
Anyhow, I've got a science blog, a French paragraph, and a math assignment to do, so no editing today! I always chose the worst time to start one of these.
