Murder Game
Chatterbox: Inkwell
Murder Game
Murder Game
Oh boy, I'm excited for this!
Ok, so on my Musical game thread, I recently mentioned my first Murder Game ( http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/puddingsplace/node/182978 ) AKA Spectrum. We did have another Spectrum, but that one didn't really work out. Well, it's time for Spectrum 3!
Spectrum is a game where each of 6 detectives are assigned a color. There are also 9 items (which I will post when I assign colors). When anybody posts (In RP format, more detail and story will make it more fun!), at the end they must accuse a fellow detective of murder, matched with an item as a murder weapon. See the link for some awesome examples! If the detective gets both the person and item wrong, they lose a life. Each player starts with 2 lives (Representing sanity, I guess?). When both lives are gone, the player is eliminated. If a player is on to something and gets one of them right, I will reply saying so!
Once the murderer is confirmed (After checking the same person with 2 different items, and getting 1 of them right each time), The Murder Phase begins. The newly revealed murderer is then allowed to drop their investigation and murder 1 innocent detective each post, as long as they don't double-post. If all the remaining innocent detectives are eliminated during The Murder Phase, the murderer wins. But if an innocent detective matches the murderer with the correct murder weapon, the murderer is locked up and the detectives win. Again, the link goes to the first game of Spectrum, and this one has the same rules.
All you have to do to join is post saying so, and after we reach 6 people I will post the final 6 detectives and their colors, as well as the items and your scenario. Please join if you can, this will be really fun!

Okey doke, I didn't reply to all of the join comments (We got filled quickly) but here are our final team of detectives:
Red-General Waffleson
Orange-Allie
Yellow-Leeli
Green-elementgirl18917
Blue-Brookeira
Purple-Danie
We didn't get everybody, so I'm reserving Cockleburr a spot in the next game. Anyways, on with the show! Your cast of detectives have found youselves at the luxurious vacation house of Norbert Bartal, a wealthy and prosperous Hungarian investor. The detectives have arrived by helicopter, as the home is nestled right in the middle of the Himilayas. You were all invited to the home for a celebration of what Mr. Bartal calls "A festival for the greatest detectives on Earth". The team of detectives has dispersed into different rooms of the luxurious manor, and a warm feeling of comfort radiates around the expensive manor as a blizzard rages outside. Only a few others, servants most likely, were there besides you, but it was lively all the same.
Suddenly, that lively and comfy mood turns to dread as you all hear Julianna, Norbert's wife, scream for help. Norbert's been murdered, and the helicopter (the only way out) has been sabatoged too. There's no service or internet in the mountains either, no way to call for help. As paranoia and dread wash over our detectives, they start to suspect each other. It's one of you. It has to be.
Peppered around the manor, you find 9 possible murder weapons:
Rapier
Cricket Bat
Keys
Silenced Rifle
Lamp
Quill
Cleaver
Bar Stool
Spatula
Lightning cuts through the storm outside, and the investigation begins. (Feel free to post now!)

Alrighty! This'll be interesting!
I wanted to write out of my personality, considering I'm a fictional detective. So I might be more snotty than usual. (Then again, I'm a pretty snotty person.)
Oh, and taking some creative liberties when describing the mansion.
* * *
Someone nudging me on the shoulder wakes me up from a fairly nice dream. Startled, I nearly punch the person who did it, but they manage to duck out of the way just in time. As I look around and compose myself, I realize I'm on a helicopter. Mountains are below us, and just ahead is a beautiful snowy mansion. Ah yes, the detective party.
Why did I come again? Who's idea was it to invite incredibly intelligent sociopaths who hate conversations with people? Then again, I'm generalizing. Maybe not all detectives are intelligent. Or introverts. Maybe they're energetic and lively people who love to run outside and talk... Ugh. I think I would prefer the introvert.
I turn to the person next to me. She's a fairly friendly looking girl with yellow attire, and she smiles rather shyly at me. I don't smile back. What's her name again? Lily? Lucy? Laila?... Let's just go with Lucy.
We finally land on the helicopter pad, thank god. I release myself from the cramped space and don't duck my head when coming out because that's dumb and only people in the movies do it. Looking around, it's obvious how expensive this place is. The windows are all clean despite the snow, the ground is somehow clean despite the snow, everything is absolutely clean. It's almost scary. I look at my clothing-- A messy coat with multiple pockets and some winter boots because we're in the freaking Himalayas -- and wonder if I maybe should have tried a bit more.
I notice the door opening, and an old man with fraying gray hair walks through it, holding his arms out with an air of welcoming. I recognize him as Norbert Bartal, our host. His warm smile practically melts the snow in the air.
"Hello! Welcome to my lovely abode," He starts shaking hands with everyone. I greet him with a stiff nod of my head and wipe my hands when he goes to the others.
"So! As you know, this party is celebrating all you lovely detectives and the work you have done for this world!" He takes a pause as if waiting for some sort of applause or reaction. Someone coughs. "... Uh, please, come inside. It's incredibly cold out here."
As if insulted, the wind around us picks up and it feels as if a blizzard is brewing. I quickly follow him into the mansion. Straightening his back, he motions for a maid. "This is Miss Yvette. She will be giving you a house tour and introduce you all to your rooms."
I sigh miserably. House tours.
* * *
This party is... amazing! After the house tour, we were allowed to do what we pleased for around an hour. I spent it exploring the house, where I met the other maids and Norbert's wife, Julianna. I wasn't able to talk with the other detectives, however. Which was a mistake on my part, because what comes next surprises all of us-- Except the murderer, maybe.
I heard a scream coming from the living room of the mansion. I immediately jumped into action and rushed to the room. There, I found the body of the victim. Norbert Bartal himself. Quite ironic that a murder would happen at a detective's party, no? Everyone was there, and everyone held the same look of shock--so the murderer was a pretty good actor. This included Norbert's wife, who was wailing over Norbert's body disgustingly.
So yes, I find a murder mystery amazing.

If this was just an introduction, then that's fine. But I want everybody to remember their accusations at the end of their entries! I'm probably just being dumb, since you were in Spectrum 2 (And as purple there too. What a coincidence.), but just a reminder that every detective has the opportunity for an accusation at the end of every post.
*Cough cough* I mean... *Deepens voice*
On with the show, murder is afoot!
(November 29, 2017 - 11:06 pm)
Can I reserve for the next round?
(November 29, 2017 - 10:52 pm)
Of course. Just don't forget to check back with me once I post it. Murder cases are a big commitment! No pressure though, as long as you don't go on an untimely hiatus then you're all set.
