Book Town

Book Town
Book Town
The town was still. It was almost as if it knew what had happened the night before.
A girl had gone missing.
Everyone knew--or thought they knew--what had happened, but they didn't speak of it, except to offer their condolences.
Within a year, Lùthien Arwen Cappiello was "presumed dead" by all in the town of Carteridge.
...
About year after Lùthiens death, a new family moved to Carteridge--a small, nondescript town in a state of trees and rain and more trees and rain. It caused a great stir and the whole town knew of it months before the event actually happened. Rarely did people move to Carteridge.
The fact was, Carteridge was a little... odd. Oh, the people in it looked like ordinary people.
But there was one strange difference between it and other towns...
Everything in the town had the name of a book, its characters, or the author, including the people.
In fact, it had got so far that a certain old retired science professor, Mr. Coomis, had speculated that perhaps the town was drawing them in, for they only got, by way of newcomers, "book people," as he called them.
Even Mr. Coomis himself had the name of a book--found in his first name, rarely did people have the last name of a book character, author, or the title, in that his first name was Robin.
You could not imagine a person farther from being 'Robin Hood' than Mr. Coomis. He was an old man who liked his books (of course--the whole town seemed book-obsessed, if only for the names), and his work. For even tough he was retired, he took a great interest in the education of young people, and consistently volunteered at the library and schools.
Carteridge had even gone thus far as to be called 'Book Town' by the inhabitants, though if you said that outside of Carteridge, nobody knew what you were talking about.
But it was well-deserved--for as I have said, every person was named after a book, or a book character, or an author, no matter how small or unknown the book might be.
Such was the case with the new family who moved to Book Town, the Withees.
Louisa's mother, Emily, who was named after Emily Byrd Starr in L. M. Montgomery's Emily trilogy, and her father was named for J. R. R. Tolkien--John Ronald.
Louisa herself was, quite clearly, named for Louisa May Alcott, and she was an avid reader.
But, uncharacteristically, she had not picked up a book in all the drive from the east side of the state to the west side. She had merely stared off into space, thinking.
She knew that her fathers job had carried them here, but could it have been to a less boring place? Portland, say, or Salem? Not some small town in the middle of the mountains? Would that have been too much to ask?
She had packed books, of course, though not once did she read them. She touched pen to paper a few times during the long drive, but other than that, did not break her stem of thoughts.
When they arrived, she was mostly silent, except for exchanging necessary words with her father and mother whenever they tried to engage her in conversation, or ask her for help carrying in boxes.

This is a solo write--my first one XD ! (I apologize in advance if I have violated any rule of solo write-d-ness.) I'll accept ten main (well, all right, Louisa is my main character, but these characters will be at the forefront) characters. There's a catch--as this is Book Town, the characters have to have names from books. They can be named after book characters, or book authors, except for their last name.
Here is the character sheet:

Here are my characters' sheets:
Name*: Louisa Withee
Gender: Female
Age: 13
Personality: Kind, can be a little harsh when expressing her own opinions, is very well-read, writes in her journal, but certainly does not write as much as the author she's named for, can be a little old-fashioned sometimes, is particularly good at Math and Writing. Can be shy when first meeting people, but is a talkative, loyal friend once friendship has been achieved.
Appearance: Red hair, always in a braid, and really dark brown eyes. Two tiny freckles at symmetrical points across her cheeks, about four foot eleven but always wears high-heeled black boots which make her look taller, since she hates being short.
Other: Has been homeschooled all her life, until now.
*is named for Louisa May Alcott, the author
Name*: Frodo Cappiello
Gender: Male
Age: 13
Personality: Talkative, always excited for someone new to meet, loves to read though not as much as his sister, loves to write, good at schoolwork, kind, but can be a little insensitive to someone's feelings, is sometimes quiet and pensive at times.
Appearance: Is tall, about five foot six, with very dark brown, almost black hair and blue-green eyes.
Other: One of his older sisters died when he was twelve.
*Lord of the Rings.
Name: Èowyn Cappiello
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Personality: Quieter than her brother, loves to read, studies fencing (I know, it's ironic), does well in school, loves to draw, has some close friends but not the wide social circle her brother has...
Appearance: Long light blonde hair, brown eyes, one freckle across her right cheek, always wears gray sweatpants and a blue t-shirt, long-sleeved shirt, or sweater, depending on the season. Is tall, like her brother, about five foot five and a half.
Other: Her older sister died when she was nearly thirteen.
*also Lord of the Rings
