Underlands RP!!!
It's you first day of school in Canyon City. You hear the trees rustling, the birds singing, and as you are leaving your house, you say bye to your parents, grab a map and leave the house. You're waking down the road, going over the mental list of things you need, and looking at your map. Suddenly, a hole opens up beneath you. You tumble into the blackness below.
You wake up in a bustling building. Where are you? A skeleton sitting at a desk in the center of the building greets you.
"Welcome, newly deseased, to the Underlands!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is basicly an RP where you and all of the people who have just moved to Canyon City are dead, and you have to find out who killed you and why. But there is a problem. You are unauthorized to leave the Underlands. So you will have to work it out from down there. You have the coice to be:
1) A skeleton (only 3)
2) A zombie (only 3)
3) A ghost (only 2)
4) A (object) spirit (only 3)
5) Something else I haven't thought of! (only 4)
You all begin in the hall of records, but the other areas are:
1) The Snowlands (Snowy Tundra)
2) The Wastelands (Baron Desert with Lava Geysers)
3) The Castlelands (Old castle ruins)
4) The Junglelands (Jungles. Duh.)
5) The Cavelands (Massive Cave System)
First day of junior year in a new place, and of course, my family is overreacting. Josh even came home from college for a couple days, just so he could see me off. Honestly, it's just like any other day in Piñon Heights, except that now I walk to school instead of driving and, of course, this isn't Piñon Heights.
Mom and Dad have me sandwiched between them. I swear Mom's actually crying. Seriously. How dramatic can you get? "Are you sure you've got everything, sweetie?" Dad asks, for the thousandth time. "Binders? Calculator? Map of the city? Do you remember everything you learned in tae kwon do--"
"Dad! Unnecessary!" I whine, pushing out of the hug and straight into a noogie from Josh. It doesn't help that he's a good foot taller than me. "Have a great time, little sis!" he says with a smirk.
"Oh, drop dead," I grumble back.
Annoying big brothers and drama-queen parents notwithstanding, I wave, smile (okay, more like I grimace) for a couple pictures, and go on my way.
I turn the corner onto Sixth Street and immediately realize that I don't have the map memorized as well as I thought I did. I pull it and my iPod out of my backpack and cue up a tune, putting on my headphones and allowing myself to just sit and snap my fingers for a couple seconds. I pick up the map and read it as I walk. If the school is on the corner of Alamo and Third, and I'm on Sixth walking north toward Charleston Avenue...
My foot hits nothing. I pitch forward, expecting my hands to hit the ground any second, any millisecond-
The collision never comes. Instead I just fall. Wherever this is, it's dark, and the fall is a long one, and oh crap what is this why is there a humongous hole in the middle of the sidewalk am I going to die when I hit the bottom is there even a bottom--
---
My first thought when I come to is my head hurts.
My second thought is how the devil did I just survive that.
My third one is holy cats, what IS this place?!
If I didn't know better, I'd think I just fell into the lobby of a giant subterranean hotel or museum or something. There are people everywhere, all talking in low voices, though I can't pick out any individual conversation. Everything is dark gray: the walls, the shiny stone floor, the ceiling unbroken by any sign of whatever hole I fell through, even the people's clothing. Somewhere off in the distance, there's the kind of music you notice when it starts and then forget about utterly.
I haul myself to my feet, noting that while my head hurts the worst, there doesn't seem to be a single part of me that isn't bruised somehow. There's a receptionist's desk in the center of the room. That ought to be a good place to start.
The desk is fairly normal, a circular island with a black stone countertop.
The receptionist is not.
He's a skeleton. And no, I don't mean he's underweight, I mean he is a literal skeleton. He wears a dapper gray suit, but his head is a skull, his hands nothing but bony phalanges. He spots me and turns to me with what I think is a pleasant smile; his eye sockets have little white lights in them, almost like pupils.
"Welcome, newly deceased, to the Underlands!"
Well. This is new.
Guess I might not have survived that after all.
Can I change my species?
Go ahead! just repost your charrie!
What a day to die on. My mom is not that fussy, even in a new city. Canyon City's pretty nice, but I've only been here three days, and have barely emerged from 'the abode' as I call it. Before I go downstairs, I boot up my computer and check my Email to see if Bryce or George had contacted my yet. Nope. Still 'too busy'. Yipee. A great start to the school year. I put the CPU to sleep, and go downstairs.
Mom's still asleep, so I cook some eggs, and leave a note that I set out for school. I grab my trusty backpack (loaded with all of that weird stationary stuff they make you bring, but you never see used) and headed out the door. The bird were singing, so much that it seemed the trees were humming, and the weasles were scheming as usual. Pesky weasles. I'm turning my map inside out, looking for the school, and then i find myself teetering on the edge of a bottomless pit. as I try to step back, a weasle comes up from behind me, and pushes my in. Darn those weasles. I fall into the pit, and think Ha! and you thought you had a normal life!
I wake up in a sleek grey room crowded with the undead (at least I assume that's what they are) and there's a skeleton beckoning at a desk. An actual skeleton. Whoah. He's wearing a Blue hoodie and shorts, and he has one blue eye, and one white one. He grins at me as I walk over.
"Welcome, fellow Bonehead, to the Underlands! I am Sans, your guide for today! I'm gonna show you around, but first I would like you to tell me your name, and how you died so I could record it."
"Stanley, and, uhhh, a weasle pushed me into a bottomless pit." I said, slightly flabbergasted.
"Hmm... where do I record that? Animal Incedent? Or death by impact? Or maybe, direct access?"
Sans checked all of the boxes, and wrote my name.
"Alright, right this way!"
On the way to wherever Sans was taking me, I looked into the mirror on the wall. Holy Bonetrousle. I'm a SKELEBONE!
"Here is the Waiting Room, where you will wait until someone calls your name for the Underlife survey." He said with a sweep of his arm as a blandish room came into veiw. It had white walls, and a blue carpet. Sans handed me a slip of paper with a number. "Call me if you need any advice,OK?"
"Cool, thanks," I now had a skeleton's phone number. Sans turned to leave, but I stopped him. "You wouldn't happen to have a brother named Papyrus would you?" He grinned and winked at me.
"Hah! I see we have an Undertalor! As a matter of fact I do!" And with a quick wave, he walked off.
(February 2, 2017 - 5:06 pm)
Thanks!
(February 2, 2017 - 6:42 pm)
Can I just make up a random font ame to make the skele? Or does it have to be Sans? I want it to be Sans, but I can't think of puns. I'm just using Trade Winds.
I wake up like normal. My new house feels empty. Dad was out late last night, doing something that he probably shouldn't be doing. Mom passed a few years ago, and my younger sister Audrey sleeps until eleven, when she has to start getting ready for daycare.
I swing out of bed. My clothes(the same ones I wore yesterday) are rumpled so much that it is hard to tell if they are pajamas or street clothes. They are both.
I change into a black blouse, blue jeans, and a pair of running shoes. My hair is pulled up tight into a ponytail.
I check the pile of mail that I got out of the mailbox yesterday, hoping to see a letter from my best friend Willa. Zilch.
I scarf down a breakfast bar and orange juice and grab my map. Making sure to double-lock the front door, I leave to find my way to school.
I pay close attention. Canyon City is new territory for me. Who knows what could be lurking around?
The next thing I realize, I'm falling down a black hole.
Hey I think my first post on here got jacked so uh. . . Here's my first thing.
~Siri
I had woken up first. Like normal. When my three sibs wake up and realize that they are forever late, they're going to be so mad at me. This'll be the best first day of school EVER.
Yep. Welcome to my life. I shut the door behind me, lock it, and start walking down 4th Street. So the school is on the corner of 1st and Hamilton. I should get there 20 minutes early. That should give me enough time to visit all of my classrooms to make sure I don't die on my first day.
I trip over a part of the sidewalk that sicks up. I hold my arms out to hit the ground, but it never happens. I open my eyes, and see nothing but black. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" I scream, and twist around. The sidewalk is already 20 feet above me, and now 30, then 40. I close my eyes. "Please be a dream, please be a dream, please be a dream," I whisper over and over again. Then, BAM! and my senses go black.
LATERZZZZ. . .
My eyes squint open. The ground, the walls, even the celing is gray. I realize, there's a glass cage all around me, except behind me, which is black. I press my hands against the front. I realize I'm inside a television, and the glass is the screen and sides. The black is the back of the screen. I knock on the glass, trying to get the attention of a skeleton behind the counter. Wait. A SKELETON?!?!?! What is this, UnderTale? This has got to be a dream. But it doesn't feel like a dream. It doesn't feel fuzzy or blurry at all. Everything is clear. The skele behind the counter walks up to me.
"Welcome, newly deceased, to the UnderLands!" He says.
"That sounds suspiciously like UnderTale," I say. "Also, can you tell me why you are a skeleton and why I'm stuck in a TV?" I cross my arms. I'm in denial that this skele is talking to me.
"Oh, you're not INSIDE the TV. You ARE the TV," he explains. "You can move around and stuff, too. It may seem weird at first, just floating around and not having any arms and/or legs, but you'l get used to it."
"What's your name?" I ask him. "Mine's Siri Arelne. Can you tell me if I'm dreaming, if I'm dead, or if I'm still alive after tripping over a rock into the abyss?"
"Call me Winds." He says, grinning. "And you're dead. I presume you know what UnderTale is?"
"Yes," I giggle. "Of course I know what UnderTale is, silly! It's my favorite game!"
"Favorite character?" Winds asks.
I'm not sure what to make of that, so I say,"W. D. Gaster, even though he's more than half fandom. My favorite ACTUAL characters are Sans and Mettaton."
"Then I have someone I'd like you to meet." He winks at me, and I blush.
Yeah, so I forgot to say that Siri has three siblings, but I'm too lazy to think of names for all of them so I made it so she woke up earlier than all of them.
