HELLO INTERNET PEOPLES OF THE INTERNET! My name is Not An Admin, and I have an Ask Admins thread here! I am another CBer on cricket, but I thought I'd go undercover today. *Cue spy music* anyway.... It's been soooo long since I've seen an ask Admins thread, so I've decided to make one! Everyone, let's just have fun and talk with some Admins!

So Admins, did you all have a great time over the holidays? What was your favorite part?

We did have a great time! My favorite part was going home to visit my family. ~Admin

just wondering, what do you like to read more things from RP's or writing contests?

I like both equally! I'm always impressed by the creativity and writing skill of Cricket readers!

A random question: What would you want your job to be if you weren't an admin?

I'd be happy working in a library with great books, other media, and people who like to read! Or in a national or state park, in the great out of doors! Or in a hospital helping people. Or in a preschool or primary school. . . .

ooh I don't know what to ask!!! Here is my question list:

1) Is admin being your job or is it a volunteer work?

2) Do you ever join in, in a thread?

3) Does any 'admin' powers come with being an admin?

4) Which is your favorite chatter box?

Being an Admin is just part of my job for Cricket Media.

I don't make independent submissions to any thread, but I occasionally comment at the bottom of other people's comments, especially if the comment is about something I really enjoy. I usually put these replies in italics to stand out from the original comment. However, if I'm posting comments from my tablet I don't do the italics.

Admins have the power to post, edit, or delete comments.

I  can't really name one favorite Chatterbox, because I really enjoy the variety of threads and comments. But I do like reading book recommendations and about the activities and life of all you Chatterboxers.

Being an admin sounds incredibly awesome...do you work from home and have video chat meetings, or do you all live in the same area?

Two of us work from home and others from the office. We have occasional phone meetings, but mostly communicate via email.

@Admins, I was looking at some old "Ask Admin" threads and there were a lot of posts about blue moon ice cream. What was all that about?

OH . . . the whole story is somewhere on Chatterbox. Someone on CB (from Michigan, I think) mentioned Blue Moon ice cream. I'd seen it while on vacation in Wisconsin but never tried it. (too many other known yummy choices!) I searched online to find out what the flavor was (not moldy cheese, I hoped) and learned that it was only available in Michigan and Wisconsin (and I think both states claimed creating it). Then one day I happened to find it in our local grocery store in Illinois! So I bought it and tried it. It's fruity, I think has raspberry, maybe pineapple, and other fruit flavors mixed in.

Fast forward to our neighborhood block party . . . after it got dark, people started putting desserts on the buffet table. I hurried home to get the Blue Moon ice cream to add it to the table. The kids were excited about trying it. In my haste to get across the yard to tell a friend I'd just put it out and to come try it before it was all gone, I tripped on a beanbag game frame in the dark grass, fell, gauged my leg, tore my jeans, and broke my wrist!

I learned the lesson to watch my step, especially after dark, and carry a flashlight, and have since changed to another favorite flavor of ice cream. I've never bought Blue Moon again.

Wow! That is quite the story. I think I need to get that ice cream now just to try it  ;)

Let us know if you find Blue Moon ice cream in the Milky Way.

Wow, that sounded really painful! I've learned my lesson the hard way when it comes to speed, but never through that experience. Although Blue Moon ice cream does sound fantastic, I'll have to try it if I visit one of those two states.

Actually, the broken wrist didn't hurt, but it was my right wrist and I'm right-handed, so keeping it immobilized in a brace for six weeks was really inconvenient. I did, however, have the use of my fingers, so it could have been worse.

Ah, okay. I suppose that isn't as bad. At least it wasn't your whole arm or something similar, that would be a lot worse.

Wow!

That was very interesting. I haven't broken any bones, and I don't want to!

@Admins

By the way, is your wrist still broken, or is it OK?

Oh, it's fine now. That was two years ago. Thanks for asking.

Hey Admins, I have two questions.

1) How much did you change Kyngdom to fit with what we wrote. As in, during the power of claw, a note showed up in the tunnles saying that Who was the spy. He was. Did you read the note and then make Who the spy, or had you already picked Who as the spy?

2) How does one become an Admin? Also, is there a way of interning or something for people who are too young to be Admins?

1.) We tried to include as much of what you wrote as we could, but we couldn't keep up with EVERYTHING for continuity in what we added for Power of Hoof. 2.) We became Admins by working for Cricket Media on the literary magazines.  ~Admin

Admins, I'm wondering the same thing as KtG. Do you have any pets? Also, is the same admin answering all of these, or different ones? And are you all women, all men, or a mixture? Sorry for all the questions!

Just two of us are answering these threads. One admin only provides tech support, one is in Taiwan (for vacation!), and one only jumps on if the two of us are out sick or busy. The two answering on here are women, but we are a mixture.

I have two parrots named Sunny and Owl. One is bright orange and yellow (a Sun Conure) and the other is green with little orange circles around his eyes (a St. Thomas Conure). I used to have a horse, beta fish, rabbit, cockatiel, hamster, and parakeet when I was younger (though not all at the same time!).

What are your favorite parts of Kyngdom? Not characters, but maybe events or landmarks or groups that have been written into the story.

H'mmm... that's a tough one. When We're reading it doesn't come in order so it's really hard to keep track. I think the Admin who helped create Kyngdom would have to answer that one! ~Admin

Wow! Cool! Your parrots sound so pretty! Can they talk? I have a fish, two dogs, seven chickens, one lamb, AAAAnd two hamsters! I really want a parakeet for my birthday. (Jan 26)

Nope! My parrots don't talk. But they do dance, nod, and imitated laughter, doors creaking, and certain loud noises. Parakeets are very fun! I find that it's best to get one that is finger trained (and not from a petstore) so that you don't get bitten so much while your bird gets used to you. ~Admin

@Admins

Do you play any instruments? If you do, which one? What's your favorite song to play? (on your instrument)

SURPRISE!!! I baked you a pie! It's blueberry! *holds up pie*

P.s, I actually don't bake

Oh, thank you! I love blueberry pie! (and cherry and apple and cranapple and peach)

I play violin and I can't say which piece is my favorite. I love beautiful folk songs, Civil War songs, waltzes. In a group my favorite is any Symphony by Dvorak.
