WWII RP!I

WWII RP!I&#3

WWII RP!

I'm creating this RP today in honor of FDR, who died on this day in 1945.

This RP will be about the Allied invasion of France (D-Day) in 1944. Some backround: The invading Allies are Britian, the U.S., and Canada. France is occupied by the Germans and the Allies have been planning the invasion for over a year. They will invade five beaches in Normandy, the northern coast of France, on June 6, 1944.

Okay. Your character can be an Allied soldier, a German soldier, a French civilian and/or spy, or a nurse/doctor/medic. One character per person, please. The limit for now is seven people, but that might get bigger depending on what I decide.

Here's the charrie sheet and my character:

Name: Jerry Meade

Age: 19

Position (if applicable): Private in U.S. Army.

Appearance: Dark curly hair, dark eyes, somewhat shortish.

Personality: Dogged and determined, generally good-natured, with a wry sense of humor, eager to prove himself and very sincere about everything he does.

Bakcground: He's from New England and has three younger brothers and sisters. When this RP starts, he is in southern England with the rest of the Allied army, waiting for the invasion.

Hobbies/skills: A musician; he plays the harmonica for his fellow soldiers; he also has a knack for writing.

What other people think of character: Most people think well of him, but don't have much respect for him.

P.S. You don't need to know much about history to do this RP. Have fun!

Alice~

Slowly but surely, the Allies troop towards Southern England. My hometown, which I haven't seen in a year, is near where we will be in two days time. I'm nervous for this invasion that the soldiers call D-day. It breaks my heart to see all of the wounded men, but instead of frightening me, it makes me want to do everything I can to stop this suffering. Many of the other nurses travelling with me have similar feelings.

"I can't comprehend why these people do this," my friend Betty had said.

"We can only hope that this war is ended soon," another nurse, Rita, remarked.

I agree, the war should end soon. But I think the Allies should fight 'till the very end. I'm not Jewish, and I don't know exactly what Hitler's men are doing to them in those Concentration Camps, but I know it's bad. Horrible. I know that the Allies have to win the war, or else.

Hello people of this RP! You all are probably wondering why HSG never posted her character. Well the truth is, I've been REALLY busy. I told Isabelle( we have been really good friends since we were 6) the reason why so she, the creator of this thread, would know but I probably should have posted why on here. So here is my character!

Name: Madeline Beck

Age: 16

Position: French civilian...there's more but you'll find out as the story progresses

Appearance: Dark hazel eyes, average hight, brunette hair, simple clothes such as-short pleated skirt, tucked in stiff shirt, knee high socks, and black shoes.

Personality: Polite and sincere, determined to help others in greater need than her, she loves to read and takes school very seriously.

Background: Her dad is a doctor in the Allied army. She has lived in France her whole life. She loves France and would never leave. Her mom is a teacher at a local university. She has 7 siblings, she is the oldest so she is always looking out for them.

Hobbies/skills: She is a strong student. She is a very skilled when learning new languages, she has a knack for picking up on codes and such like her sister, Aurelie. She also is a fantastic writer and reader and often writes stories to entertain her younger siblings.

What other people think of her: Everyone likes her and many admire her intelligence. All but her brother Pierre who thinks he has been cast in her shadow. What he doesn't understand is that she does not like when people bring attention to her intellect; she feels embarrassed.

Terribly sorry for the shortness, l do not have much time right now.

Karl~

It's quiet here, the days blending into one another, each the same as the last. The other German soldiers complain about the lack of action, but honestly, I don't mind.

I can imagine that this little French town used to be buzzing with life, the countryside rolling all around it, before the war came to their doorstep. And now....it's empty. The people are still here, somewhere, it's that they simply stay away...hidden, out of sight. They're afraid. Afraid of us, of the Germans, of the Nazis, of the war coming to their homeland. Afraid of the soldiers that occupy their town. They keep out of our way, scurrying away like insects. I almost felt...sorry for them, although frankly it was their fault that they lived in fear. Yes, there is a war going on, but we aren't very well going to kill you, just as long as you get along with us. No one ever seemed to realize that.

The German soldiers have taken up residence in an small hotel. The owner graciously provided us shelter......at gun point.

There are about fifty men in my regiment; we were posted here to keep watch over the citizens and the surrounding countryside, and to alert the Nazis of any uprising, any movement looking like military action. There had been none. The other soldiers are bored, they want to be on the front lines, battling the Allied Forces. But alas, we are stuck in a little French town of no importance. I'm happy staying here, just as long I don't get....killed.

It's late May, but still somewhat cold and cloudy. I'm technically not on duty, but l'm still out, wandering around. None of the citizens bother me, but as I pass, I see a few of them giving me glares, muttering under their breaths in French. I, of course, a German farm boy, understand next to nothing of French. But I don't need to to know what they say. They hate us here. However, being here means not being in a battle, which means very greatly increased chances of living.

Is it too late? Is there a spot? I'm sorry if it seems like I'm butting in, but I LOVE WWII. I mean, I don't love all the horrible things that happened during this war, but I guess you could say I'm a bit of a history freak! If there's not a spot, that's okay.

Sincerly,

Will(FINE. My real name is Willow)

Aw! You are a sweetheart Isabella! And please call me Will.

Will(ow) is a charrie name for a RP that I really want people to join. It's about the New York newsies strike of 1899, and it is historical fiction. (I based it off of the 1992 Disney movie Newsies, which, in my opinion is one of their best unknown live action Disney films if all time.) If you are interested in joining, I can give you historical info, and you can create your own newsie...here: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/212710

Okay! Sorry about my rant, I'm just kinda lonely on my HistoricalFic RP. Here is my info.

Name: Clara Bellerose

Age: 14

Position: French spy.

Appearance: Tall and skinny, with long, wavy black hair, and abnormally green eyes.

Personality: Brave and bold, and usually amiable, with obvious intent in everything she does. Sincere, yet sly, she is one of the youngest spies in her village.

Background: She was born in a small French fishing village, and soon discovered her passion and talent for acting. This experience as an actress lead her to the local baker, who is the head of their own spy ring. Her number is 16.

Hobbies/skills: Beside acting, she loves to sing and dance.

What other people think of her: In her village, she has been labeled as the sort of oddball, who sings to herself in the street. Her music coach, however, encourages her "odd" habits, and...her spying.
