I saw something on this (I think Jwyn wrote it) but I didn't have time to read the whole thing and now I can't find it for the life of me. So hopefully this place is ok...

How do you develop an AE?

AE stands for Alter Ego. Do make one, just post the AE sheet anywhere popular, like this thread. Speaking of AEs, Admins? I had an AE chat/RP thread called AE... Thing! an it disappeared. I've tried everything, but I can't find it anywhere!

I believe you're referring to the one we took down because the qualifications were too resstrictive.

I know what it stands for, but I was wondering if anyone had tips for character development.

It literally means other self, so sometimes people make them personifications of different parts of themselves. Spyro is the more sour, sarcastic, and outgoing/insane bit of me, for the most part. Alternatively, if you have an OC you like a lot, you could just use that instead.

The usual stereotype for AEs is a crazy, pie-flinging, possibly psychopathic and generally chaotic/evil character. Pretty much Spyro minus the whole donut thing, which is why I'm not too happy with him right now - not very original, in fact he's not even OC. Personally I really like Pooki P.'s new AE Starlight, having a younger AE is a cool idea and the whole description w/ the star-studded fingertips is very well-done.

Also, don't be afraid to just develop one, try them out for a while, maybe join a couple ski-lodges or RPs to see if you like them, and if not, go back to the drawing board. Lots of people scrap their AEs in favor of characters with more developed or likable personalities.

The captcha says afrg - yes, I suppose you could give it an afro ...

Now it's 2018. YES, this is spam. It is very brief and minimalistic spam. You can't criticize me on that. Actually, people can most likely find many things to criticize me about on that. But whatever.
