I have an idea?
I might start writing a character's journal entries--each in the year of the post number of the LTE. I think it would be an interesting thing to play with and develop, and watch as technology (and dystopia) rise with the post number.

The year is 2027, and scissors are becoming scarce. Paper now has to be ripped or cut with a knife (not that many people have those).
The deserts are becoming more and more populated, and though we are far from overpopulation, violence is growing and every living thing shows high levels of aggression.
New York, New York is under siege from desperate immigrants from across the globe. It is one of the only cities on earth to have actual fresh water ice, and with the constantly rising temperatures, the ice is in incredibly high demand.
Coyotes have gone extinct. The last one was killed yesterday in Montreal, Canada.
Russia is beginning to fall. It has been a major war zone for the past six (6) years, and dictator Asha Palin was murdered three (3) nights ago while at a war council. No one has taken her place, as all of the eligible people are also dead.
Astronomical scientists are working nonstop to attempt to colonize other planets, because there is no way around it. Earth is dying.

There are four (4) sloths left, but no water for them to take baths in. The only reason these sloths remain is that they are too slow for hunters to see through the smog that coats earth.
In Australia, only Mount Kosciuszko is above the water. No one lives there now, except for two insane women and their pet crocodile.
The size of Canada is greatly decreased, as much of it was islands. Its indigenous peoples are all wiped out by the immigrants and citizens desperate for supplies.
