Current works? This

Current works? This is the thread to talk about works in progress, ask for titles, share samples, etc.

WHAT I'M DOIN' AT THE MOMENT (in case anyone cares): My family is insane. And I mean crazy. My (fraternal) grandma bit my mom the other day. We have all these quirky family stories, and I'm using them for a basis of a collection of short stories, about a girl in the almost-fictional-but-not-really-cause-it's-kinda-mine family.

You?

My works in progress:

Well, first off, I have to come up with two poems for my local library's poetry contest. I'll probably end up writing one new one and the other one will be one I've already written. Out of curiosity.....for those who read some of my poems on the "Allison's Writing" thread, which one would you say I should submit?

Also, my newest story idea is for a story titled A Place Called Destiny. (copyright 3/25/09 by Allison P.) But that's all I'm going to tell you about it for now! Wink The story ideas are sort of slow in coming, though.....

Well, Broken Dreams mostly, my dark steampunk/fantasy novel about a boy who was improperly resurrected, has total amnesia, and was chosen by the god of death and goddess of deception to restore peace between warring kingdoms. It's based on Hand of Sorrow by Within Temptation.

There's also the Jack Frost story that I'm writing in segments on this site... No idea what's going to happen, to be honest.

Screnzy starts up in six days (SIX! SIX DAYS! ZOMG SIX DAYS!), and I will of course be participating. All I know is my first line: "You can tell a lot about a person by the way they eat their watermelon." and it'll be satire. Probably. Though I might actually end up in a more serious vein, you never know.

There's Ghost of the Cinema, a spoof of Phantom of the Opera I'm writing with a friend based on the random stuff that keeps happening at the theatre where we work. The pizza oven breaking, the water cooler freezing up, broken cupholders, hole in the ceiling, shattered pipe/flooded theatre last February, constant shortage of Swedish Fish and Rolos, that sort of thing. Also, there is a bedroom with a shower next to the office above the projector room (!!!), which heavily influenced some of the scenes. Am I rambling?

And that's it, really.

I'm working on my Sydney story, my tiger story, and my . . . *turns red* my Rashayalee story.  If you want to hear what they're about, I'll tell you, but . . . *mumblegrumblemumble*

Screnzy = Script Frenzy = month of April = 100 page script. It's like NaNoWriMo, for scriptwriters. It's fun.
