I see that our posts don't correspond, and I understand that mine is a little confusing. I just thought I would try something...
(June 23, 2015 - 5:11 pm)
In my honest opinion, I like your post better, Rose.
(June 23, 2015 - 7:39 pm)
Okay then...
I want to know what happens to Crescent :) Any ideas? Maybe she has rocket shoes or something.
(June 24, 2015 - 9:26 am)
l'm really sorry about the conflecting posts. It was my fault.
And l think perhaps Crescent suddenly gains some knowledge of something, or gains some sort of ability. l don't know exactly what.
(June 24, 2015 - 2:53 pm)
It has something to do with her feet in my post. Maybe we could change that?
(June 24, 2015 - 3:07 pm)
Maybe her eyes, perhaps. Maybe Cresent's eyes changed, and she seemed to stare into the distance? A vision, and she managed the way?
I'm going with this idea, but ignore my post if you don't like it.
Jackson's powers (Gwen and Cresent don't know): He has visions, and can also look into anothers mind and memories, which can calm the thoughts and give more knowledge to that person.
Jackson~
I look at them.
"Jackson. Jackson Perry. A boy who was given a vison, a few powers, and this icy hair." I pace up and down. "We were all chosen to go on a special mission to help the Thrum and defeat the evil forces killing it."
"What evil forces?" Tiger asks.
"That..." I try to remember the vision, what was it? "I'm not so sure."
I shake my power off Cresent, and she blinks away that last of it.
"This way." She points toward the left and we follow her.
(June 25, 2015 - 4:45 pm)
Crescent~
l ponder what Jackson said, as we march though the streets. Evil forces? What could it be? l see nothing that suggests evil, only disaster from the abrupt stop of the Thrum.
Machines shuting down, causing things to topple and break. Crops withering under the hot sun, wells drying up. It hasn't even been a day, yet chaos already gripped the city. And silance, not total silance, for there are sounds of people talking, children crying. But the sounds that were here only yesterday, the sounds of a living city, are gone.
No sound uttered from a feeble human throat could ever equal of that which inhabited the city. The sounds have fled with the sound of the Thrum, the engine of the city.
While l am deep in though, thinking all of this, we turn a corner. "Hello?" calls Edvard, rather rudely. "Are you even awake? Wh-"
"l am." l snap."You little-" "Keep the peace." Says Tigereye, pushing us apart. "Look, we are here. Pay attention, will you?'
We are at the base of the hill, the castle looming over us. We begain to climb the winding road to the top.
"Halt!" Cries the guard, at the gate of the castle. "No one is to enter this castle by order of the Duchess!"
**************************************
The Duchess rules the city. Is that alright with everyone?

I like it! I am out of ideas right now... let me do some reading and I'll be right back!
(June 26, 2015 - 8:23 am)
Tigereye~
"I've got this," I whisper, staring down the guard.
"Wait-" Edvard begins, but I shake him off. We take a few steps backwards, and then I whisper my plan.
"I'll distract, you run past the guard and... um... try to get over the fence." Before anyone can object, I start running straight at the guard. He is holding a (insert Steampunk weapon here. Remember, I am new to this so... I have no idea) but nearly drops it as I hurtle past him.
"Stop!" he calls, but I am already to the gate. What next? I think. Not knowing what else to do, I begin climbing but I hear something whir and pop from behind me, and with a splitting pain in my back, everything goes black.
~~~~~
So, Tigereye charges without a plan. I am sure you guys are getting VERY annoyed with my charrie by now. So sorry that I don't know anything at all about Steampunk writing. Ignore this if it seems... I dunno, just now exactly right.
(June 26, 2015 - 5:43 pm)
Nah, I'm not annoyed! She's great!
Jackson~
"Tigereye!" I streak toward the guard, with Edvard right next to me. We shove the guard into the fence and grab his weapon.
Tigereye's arms twitch, her eyes closed. Cresent slowly picks her up and I look at her back.
"A Steam-Crack," my eyes narrow. "It cracks the bones with fire hot steam. It's a dangerous weapon... Too dangerous for the guards... Why would they use it?"
"Don't ask me," Edvard replies. "You're the smart one."
"Can we move on?" Cresent taps her foot impatiently.
(June 26, 2015 - 10:55 pm)
Edvard~
"Well, well, what do we have here?" l spin around, frightened. There, at the gate, stands three men. All of them have Steam-Cracks in their hands. The one who spoke is clearly the leader.
Jackson grips the Steam-Crack in his hands. l sure hope he knows how to use it. Crescent protectively stays by Tigereye, lying unconscious on the ground. l glance over to her, nervous.
If that gun can knock someone unconscious, and crack bones, and do-who-knows-what-else, we're good as dead.
"Surrender!" cries the man, "and no one will get hurt!" All three of them point the guns at us.
(June 27, 2015 - 7:44 pm)
Jackson~
I breathe in nervously.
"What should we do?" Edvard looks at the men.
"I'm not terribly su-" Cresent interrupts me.
"I got an idea," She whispers quietly and quickly. "Just go along with me."
"Sir, I am just a poor clock-seller," Cresent gets closer to the men. I follow her, getting the idea. "Please just help us. We have nothing to sell to our home-town, and we where hoping the Queen would like our clocks."
"Can you show us one?" The guard asks. Cresent nods and gets closer to the man and draws something out. "Here it is."
She tosses it, distracting the men for a few seconds. Thats enough. Edvard pushes one guard while I push another. We grab the weapons and race toward castle, with Cresent and Edvard helping Tigereye.
We push open the doors, with a greater vision then any I have ever seen in my mind.
Gears push and pull ropes, setting steam and hot gas out of tanks. A thump thump arises out of the clocks and pulleys, while the bursts of fire have a fwa! fwa! sound. Grabbing onto the nearest pole, I watch in awe as this machine creates wonders... Until I see a flaw.
A small pipe leans on another, with steam gushing out from holes. A exhausted sigh escapes from a tank, while the thump thump of harmony seems to quiet down. It is no longer a amazing machine to make people gasp with awe... It is cracked, filled with age, and no longer able to work.... With no one able to fix it.
"Who are you, and what do you want?" A voice demands. The duchess.
(June 27, 2015 - 8:32 pm)
Crescent~
"We-we are here-' l stammer uselessly. The Duchess fixes her gaze on me from the elegant chair at the front of the room.
She is young, twenty or so years old, and very pretty. She strokes her red velvet dress as if it is a dog and raises an eyebrow. "Well?"
l shiver nervously in the cold air of the castle. l glance at the Duchess and notice somthing that l hadn't before. Her hair is the exact same shade as mine and her eyes, though cold and sharp, are a mirror of mine.
Jackson finely speaks up. "We are here to fix the Th-" "That will do." She says coldly, tucking stray bits of hair behind her pointed ears. "Guards, take them to the prison. They are greatly annoying."
"We want to help!" Protests Tigereye. "You just can't-" A guard points a gun at her. We don't argue any more as the guards march us to the prison underneth the castle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The door clangs shut after we are push into the cell. There is a deadly silance. "The Duchess looks a lot like you, Crescent." Says Edvard, trying to break the silance. "If l didn't know otherwise, l'd think she was your mother."
(June 28, 2015 - 5:41 pm)
Again, I apologize for my little knowledge of Steampunk writing...
Tigereye~
I don't know what happened, but when I woke up, my shoulder hurt so bad that I couldn't think of anything else. Edvard and Crescent were carrying me, and as soon as I got over the pain, I flipped and dropped to the floor, crouching on the ground. Edvard and Crescent looked surprised; I recover easily. I am pretty sure my shoulder is broken, but that doesn't stop me from protesting loudly when the Duchess orders us to prison. I attempt to leap at her, but an acute pain stops me. I stare at the gun the guard points towards me, and swallow. They haven't gotten me yet, and they never will! I think, sitting with the others in the cell. My strong body fights not to be overcome by the pain, and I look over to see Edvard and Crescent talking. Jackson is sitting against the wall, and I can tell he is thinking hard. I squirm, trying to run away from the pain in my shoulder. The effort tires me, and I finally lay on the floor, and a single whimper escapes from my lips. I scold myself. You do not whimper; you stand strong. I mouth over and over.
"Tigereye, only you can save the Thrum," The voice that spoke in my head earlier repeats its message.
"You cannot do it alone. Crescent will free you all, Jackson and Edvard will guide you, and they will stand beside you. You know what to do, Tigereye. Lead," I barely have time to register his voice, before I am again falling into unconsciousness; exhausted and pain-racked. Before everything is completely black, I hear a grating sound... and footsteps...
So I was thinking that Crescent's connection with the Duchess will spring them free! (but it is whatever you want to do). I am not saying that Tigereye is the only person who can fix the Thrum, I am saying that she knows what to do.
