"Amethyst please, let me in," I began to question my own sanity as a pounded mercilessly on the

thick door.

At that moment, whats-her-face (Joy Rose), came running down the hall.

"Why are you here?" I  cringed at the sight of her, "You need to learn to stay in your room and be a good little princess, you hear Joey Rosie?" 

"This is serious," She glared at me, "Amethyst and her whole family is in trouble. I have to talk to her."

"In trouble?" I turned to bar the door with my body, "Of what sort? Why wasn't I told? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM ?"

"It's about the Eternity Jewel," She mumbled grudgingl.

"You know," Her annoyance made something inside me feel at peace, "I had a dream last night about the Fraternity Jewel being stolen."

"The ETERNITY Jewel," J.R. yelled furiously.

"Personally, I'd suggest finding the others, bird girl, that oversized pelican you all wanted to save, and so forth," My movement hinting towards exiting the doorway, just to remain their to the horror of Jenny Rosebud, "They might help."

"We have to get Amethyst out of there," The princess declared, "It's turning into a prison."

"Well, Stone forbid that," I laughed (cackled) demeaningly.

"You're a creep," J.R. retorted plainly.

I drew my rapier slowly, "You want to get Amethyst out? Tried this method?"

I slid my thin weapon between the door and the doorpost. The door swung open in seconds, revealing Amethyst. The look of sorrow upon her face was nearly enough to make me actually want to help this band of heathens and their little bird too.

"Amethyst!" Miss South Castle charged through the door, hiking up her dress, "Your father, what he has been saying to me lately-"

"What she is trying to say," I cut in haughtily, "Is we are here to get you out of the castle."

The two girls shot me mixed looks of confusion, shock, and relative disgust by your know who.

"He wants us to reunite with the others," Jimi Rosaline replied, "I hate with all my heart to say it, but he is actually quite right." 

Everyone in time will admit that the North Kingdom is dominent, the people, the land, but most of all, the king. I may be king now, but the day is approaching quickly when you will have my position. Can you feel the power as I do now? They lie and say the Eternity Jewel holds true domaine, but in time everyone will sucumb to fear, everyone will bow before the stone.

In what seemed the deepest part of my being, I could feel the slightest taste of the power Father mused over, that that moron of a wizard tried to warn me about. 

It turned your father into the cruel, haughty king he is today.

"Does it sting, Joy Rose?" Suddenly, I barely felt real anymore. All I wanted was to ruin." Yes, shocking, I do know your name. But why should I even remember it? what ever happened in the Southern Kingdom? What is it's worth? Who are-"

"Oh Cale," Amethyst's saddened voice suddenly broke whatever trance I had been pulled into, "He simply will never trust me!"

Jenny Ride suddenly opened her eyes, "W-w-we should get going. 

"Right," Amethyst seemed relatively pulled together, "I'll make sure Sarah Ann is gone."

Jinger Ring looked at me, eyes full of rage and fear.

"IT'S YOU!" She hissed, "Father always said the King of the North was out to get us all with that mad stone. I guess your Daddy decided it was time you get into the family buisness."

"I didn't do anything," I openly protested, which was a lie. I did do something, I knew it. It had to be the stone, it just had to.

Is Father right? Should I trade my conscience for the power of fear?

"We can't make it out of the castle gates without anyone noticing," Amethyst broke my thoughts.

"Gates?" A devious smile crept across Julia River's face, "We are taking the window."
