So here is what I propose: all who join this RP work together to keep it alive for as long as possible! Really! Let's try to break the record!
I shall not be as presumptuous as to suggest that whatever subject I come up with is the one everyone wishes to keep alive, so, this is the system I think we should use:
First, we vote for genres -- Steampunk, Fantasy, etc., and after one is voted the most popular, we all submit plot ideas, and vote for those, and whichever one we voted to the top, we follow, and after that, we make characters. (Of which you can have three.)
And here's where it gets a bit more interesting; while we all will try to keep it going as long as we can, if it hopelessly dies, we will (DUN DUN DUN!) switch to the second-best-voted genre, and try and use our same characters (with minor adjustments, like if one character is a tech genius in the sci-fi part of the RP, they are and inventor or something in a Medieval part.)

Oh yeah, I don't know if I have to say this, but you vote by saying something like '1 vote for Apocalyptic!'. You only get one vote, but you can change your mind, so long as we haven't started deciding on plot lines yet.

Okay, TRAITORS! I love this kind of stuff! Where there are traitors in your mist and other people who are related to your enemy and betrayed them... anything to do with that and I'm sold!

We can vote until Sunday, right? I vote for Alias's second idea, about the ship and the power limitations. It is 6:20 on Friday, April 17, my time (California) right now, just so that everyone knows, since the time zones are going to be skewed with the posting time.

Air, thank you so much for pointing that out! That's a really good point about time zones.
Since it's always earliest by Pacific time, we'll go by five o'clock Pacific time, so no one has to get their vote in earlier than five where they live. (That's also five o'clock in Arizona)
So that's six o'clock mountain daylight time, seven o'clock central time, and eight o'clock eastern time.
Also, Owlgirl, that's an excellent question: if we kill our characters can we make other ones? Normally, I would say that would be a bit too confusing, but since this is an Everlasting RP, and we want to keep it going for a really long time, we could make it work. So let's make a rule that a character must live for at least two weeks (real time) That way, we can give characters time to develop, and we don't have an ever-shifting cast.
Remember everybody, also, we each get no more than three characters at a time, but you can have less than three if you like. =)

OKAY, GUYS!
So Brookeira's idea, and Alias' second idea tied for first, each with four votes!
Usually we would vote between these to break the tie, but we started this RP nine days ago, and (dramatic voice) I can feel it fading.
So I started both! The one Brookeira created is called "The Elf RP", while the one Alias created is under "Everland Island RP". (Check both the front and back pages.)
They both count as part of the Everlasting RP, and it's still our mission to keep them alive! However, The Elf RP is now under Brookeira's management, as it was her idea. The Everland Island Prison one is still under mine.
