Magic RP. I

Magic RP. I

Magic RP. I think we should do an RP were everyone lives in the present and they all (at different times) find a book at the local library. This book when opened will whisk the opener into a magical land called Soyrema where there are fairies, elves , dwarves , dragons and other magical things. There are five places that you can land in the booked depending on where you open it. The first chapter is about fairies and elves and if you open to that chapter you land in the forest.  The second chapter is about  dwarves. If you open to that chapter you will end up under ground in their mines.  The third chapter is about magical animals. You will land in the mountains if you open to that chapter. The fourth chapter is about humans you will land in the planes. The fifth one is about the things that live in the ocean and all that live in it.  If you open to that chapter you will land in a rowboat with land in sight. Anyway the idea is for ten children ages 8 to 19 to come through the book and stop the war that has been raging in the land. One more thing only the distant relations of the people listed above can find and go through book. What do you think? Here is the person sheet.

Oh, wow! Totally forgot I was in this RP! Really, really sorry, so yeah.

Jennifer

I sit Alex down in a chair in the children's section, giving him a bunch of picture books to look at. Then, making sure I can still see him, i head over to the Juvenile Fiction section and lose myself in the shelves of books. I see one lying on a table, something about a place called Soyrema or something. I'm about  to go over and give it to the librarian to reshelve when it falls out of my hands and onto the floor, opening up to a page about odd-looking animals. I bend over to pick it up, and before I know it, I'm in the mountains.

The mage pulled out an old-looking scroll and opened it. "This is the original copy of the prophesy." He placed it on a table they were standing next to. The mage read aloud:

"In Soyrema's darkest hour, the most feared one will rise to power. Though doom he doth reap, heroes will rise and our kingdom keep. They will be relatives of the first, yada, yada, yada, something, something. There's more to the prophesy, but it's too worn for us to read."

"What does that mean?" asked Nellithiel.

"It means several things really, for one, Soyrema will be taken over by hostile forces."

"Who are they?" asked Zack.

"They're a monstrous race known as the Gargonians."

As the mage was in the middle of explaining the prophesy, a loud gong sounded outside. A soldier came bursting into the room. "Sir! We are under attack!" The mage's face darkened.

"Who are they?"

"Goblins, a whole troop of them, fully armed!"

"What  can we do to help?" Zack asked.

"Well, You could certainly help in combat, if you wish."

Zack grinned. "I'd be our pleasure." With that, he, Nellithiel, and the fairy girl marched behind the mage into the battle.

So picture this. Me, sitting on a cliff, staring like an idiot at a giant predatory eagle I just knocked out cold. With a shockwave-type thing I didn't think was possible. And then the exhaustion hits me like a physical punch to the gut. I double over. My vision is foggy, there's a strange buzz in my ears, and I feel somehow detached, as if I'm looking at myself from the outside. Why is this happening? Why didn't I see it coming? Why is the rock shaking underneath me? What's that noise up above? Why can't I think?

The vibration grows stronger. Might be an aftershock of that...thing I did. Or an earthquake. Do earthquakes happen in the mountains? I'm seeing spots now, and trying to think is making me dizzy. More than anything I want to sleep, to just fall unconscious like the roc...And then the shaking reaches a climax, and the edge of the cliff crumbles, and I'm sitting on empty space...

My last sensation before the sweet silent darkness takes me is of something, hard and smooth but not altogether cold wrapping around my body, breaking my fall and carrying me off as my eyes close and I know no more.

Sabrina~

I walk slowly to the book. I
just saw a kid pick it up, drop it, and vanish. I as a
librarian-in-training, should report such things going on. So, I pick up
the book, A History of Soyrema. I've seen this book meany times,
but never have read it. Which is surprising, I've read all the other
books in this library. I open to a page called Creusa, The Water Goddess of Soyrema;

This Goddess is ruler of the Nymphs, Mermaides, Sirens, and all Water Folk. She had one chil- I couldn't read any more, before the words
started swirling around me, I was in an ocean of words- No. A real
ocean. I realized, I  could not breath, I swam to the top, gulping air. I
saw a woman, with blue hair, her skin had a slight mist of silver
scales, her sea green dress, soaking wet.

"Hello," said she, in a warm tone, "I am Brea. I need to take you somewhere, Sabrina. Or should I say Seabrine."

"Wait,
what?" Was all I managed, she grabbed my hand, my dress, staying the
same, my hair, turning blue, my feet and hands, webbed, my skin, had
golden scales, and I had gills on the sides of my neck.

"Come quickly, you must meat your mother, the Queen Creusa!"

Admin, I created an rp called Avatar 2, and I think it got thrown into the back pages. Does it eventually come back or do we have to do something special to get it back? I  saw it in the front pages just yesterday and today it's gone.

I've heard that called the Back Pages Effect, and it is REALLY ANNOYING!! The first post or two on a thread tends to throw it to the bottom for some reason, but then if someone posts on it again, it's back up top like nothing happened. I think someone did get your Avatar 2 back up, 'cause I saw it recently on the first or second page.

~Corina~

I come to slowly, almost reluctantly. Everything- sounds, sights, feelings- is unfamiliar and indistinct. I perceive my surroundings, but I can't make any sense of them. There's something soft above and underneath me. The air is cool, but not cold. I am lying down, too weak to move much more than my eyes. Trying to talk comes out as a tiny croak. The light is soft pink, turning the stone walls a nice shade of dusty rose. Someone is bending over me, saying in a soft, soothing voice, "Ssh. Drink this." Water, pure and sweet, trickles into my mouth. "You've exhausted yourself trying to use too much magic at once. You're in a hospital bed at the Dragonhold. Now go back to sleep."

I comply at once, unable to resist sinking back into the dark.

************

When I again regain consciousness, the light has changed to hard clear daylight. The lady (nurse?) from earlier is gone. I am indeed in a bed. How long have I been out? What caught me back at the cliff? Who brought me here? I feel a little better, enough to hold my head up and have a look around. There are many other beds in the long hall, a few of them occupied. The masonry walls and Gothic-style windows with no panes make it look positively medieval, not very hospital-y at all. Two nurses are at one end of the hall, conversing in low voices.

By my bed there's a wooden nightstand, with a little porcelain bowl and small decanter of some orange liquid. I can't quite muster the strength to lift my arm and take a peek up close. It's probably just medicine; this is a hospital, however much it may seem like a castle. With nothing else to do, I soon fall asleep.

************

I wake again feeling a good deal more refreshed, to find a man sitting on the edge of my bed. I don't recognize him. He's got on a tunic and trousers of some kind, as well as a white tabard with a red teardrop design. The teardrop has some kind of upside-down 2, stitched in white, on it. I've never seen that kind of an emblem before. I tense, understandably since there's a strange man sitting on my bed watching me, but he pats my shoulder under the blankets. "Easy, there," he says with a little chuckle. "Sorry if I startled you. I am Master Geribald, chirurgeon, but you can call me Geri. Everyone does." His face is elfish and angular, with a small pointed beard and mustache, but his eyes are kind.

For the first time, I find that my voice works, if hoarsely. "What's a chirurgeon? Where is this place, anyhow? Do you know what-"

He shushes me, cutting my flow of questions short. "Take it easy on the questions there. You're still tired, but at least you're out of danger. A chirurgeon is a healer, a master of the medical sciences. Many are also alchemists, as am I. This is the hospital at the Dragonhold. Have you heard of it?"

"No," I reply. So he's a doctor, and doctors here call themselves chirurgeons. This just gets stranger and stranger.

"Ah, so you're from down south maybe, in one of those rural human villages." He says something to himself under his breath, which I don't catch. "Anyway, the Dragonhold is a walled city in the Thied Mountains. It is the main home and gathering place for those who have dragons for kin, and can thus do magic. The dragon blood, and thus the potential for sorcery, has been proven to run for at least a hundred generations, maybe more. All I know is that Breezetail the roc came flying in here screeching about a new dragon daughter, and not ten minutes later, Arrhanias flew in carrying you."

"Who's Arrhanias? How long have I been out? And...hold on just a minute. You said dragons, like real dragons?"

Geri looks at me oddly. "Why, yes, real dragons. Don't they have them down south too?"

Things have just gone from weird to insane. Here is a doctor, at a hospital, telling me that dragons exist and can somehow have kids with humans. "Look, Dr. Geri, I am not from down south. I am from Hartfield, Wisconsin. In the past twenty minutes or so that I've been awake, I have seen three things that can't possibly exist. If this is a dream or some crazy hallucination, would you be so kind as to wake me up from it?!"
