CORRUPT A WISH--

CORRUPT A WISH--

CORRUPT A WISH--GAME!!!

This game is pretty fun.
First, an example:
Person 1: I wish I could run really fast.
Person 2: Wish granted. You run to the store, but hit a wall and get a concussion.
               I wish I could __________.
So, basically, you take the wish of
the poster above you, and you grant it in a way that's bad. The wish you pick doesn't have to be related
at all.

If you need me to explain more, feel free to ask. :)

I wish I could grant wishes....

Alright, I won't grant this wish, John F.Q., dear brother (heeheehee, your secret of two names is out, oopsie!), but for clarification, I believe you mean that you wish you lived on Gallifrey, just so other people might know how to corrupt this wish...

(oh, and also, I'm CaptainReed today, not CaptainRead, so TECHNICALLY, I could answer this!)

The muffins you recieve are awful and burnt and rotting and gross! (sorry for the bad muffins)

I wish I fell down less while I was skiing and was better at skiing (I am going to say that is only one wish because I would fall down less if I was better at it)

Wish Granted: You become an expert skier, but then you get terribly sick and cold up in the high altitude and snow, and nearly die from pneumonia.

I wish I could write a mystery story that's actually beliveable.

Wish granted! Everyone belives your mystery stories are actually real, the police get involved, and you end up in jail because one of your murder stories was told in first person.

I wish I could meet Lyra Belacque Silvertongue and be her best friend.

You've read The Golden Compass? I totally love that book, but I must say I was a little disappointed by Sublte Knife and Amber Spyglass. I couldn't stand Will Parry. Don't you think Lord Asriel and Mrs. Coulter ended up being the neatest characters in the end??? And Lee Scoresby. A Western character in a fantasy novel should be done more often. My other problem with the series is how atheist is it. I can deal with books that are agnostic or just ignore religion in general, but it was a little irritaing how Pullman kept trying to put down Christianity left and right.

Wish Granted: You meet Lyra but she tells you all these lies and once you believe them, end up in a trap and become in danger of being killed by Iorek Brynison.

I wish I could actually ride a mulefa.

Your wish is granted! You gain the ability to ride a zalif! But it then thinks you are a grazer and use you for food.

I wish my GPA was 4.0 or higher.

Wish granted!! Turns out, its 30 points higher and everyone thinks you're a super genius and you get sent to a special school, in which you flunk, and it all everything becomes this crazy mess and you actually end up getting no schooling so then you life gets messed up and.... you get the idea, don't you? (sorry, its a little absurd)

I wish I could live in The Penderwicks.

Don't spoil it for me! I haven't quite finished the Amber Spyglass. Oh Mr. Scoresby, why, why, why did Pullman do it? And Roger, too, why? (I'm trying not to be too spoiler-y) I'm holding out that Lyra will get to the world of the dead and save everyone, but it's probably really unlikely. *sighs*

You are right about western characters in fantasy, definitely more needed! For the longest time I only owned the Golden Compass and The Amber Spyglass, so of course I'd only read the first book, but then, recently, I had the brilliant idea to get The Subtle Knife from the library! I am sooo silly to not have thought of that before.... I thought that the second two books would be a lot darker, because it IS called His Dark Materials after all, but so far I'm enjoying them as much as I did the first book. I don't really mind his attack on authority too much, because I think it's more meant to be that, an attack on authority, than an attack on the church, it just so happens that the church has a good metaphor for his message, which is that we should all be free to choose what is right and what is wrong for ourselves. (I don't want to get caught up in a religious theology disagreement though, so please don't think I'm trying to challenge anyone's beliefs, because I'm not)

E.Fon or Elwood F. is John F. Q.? o.O

submitted by M
(February 21, 2014 - 5:50 pm)

Yup! They are one and the same! And who might you be, mysterious M?

Also, regarding my younger brother's names on here, neither of them is his real name, so if anyone wants to guess what the F.Q. stands for, they are quite welcome. (I think the John is because the example for your name when you're adding a comment is "John S.")

Regarding wishes, I don't know what the Penderwicks is, but if it's the sort of book it sounds like, and to kep this thread alive:

Wish Granted: you run into the evil guy right away.

I wish I could fly whenever  I wanted to.
