Hunger Games RP!
This is my first thread and I decided to do a Hunger Games RP. You can post a character, but be sure to include their age (12-18), name, district, skills, family and personality. This thread may later become a game not unlike Ruby M's sugarbowl. (Thanks Ruby ) I may post my character later. -Evan S.

Of course I will comit to this thread! I think we should have at least one character from each district before we start, and make up extra characters ourselves as needed.

It is most definitly the pizza district, at least to Chip. I mean, you need electricity to get pizza, right?!

Name: Fina Wolbach
Age: 16
District: 5
Skills: Knows how to build a self-powering flashlight. She is also very light and sly.
Family: Her parents are the most prestigious in the electrical industry of Panem. Her older brother skipped his last year of school to go work for her parents because of his ideas about innovative technology.
Personality: She can figure out any task put in front of her, very hard-working, a perfectonist. Her dream is to one day live on her own and have an electrical workshop.

She is also very playful, but not mischievious!

I think we should start posting even though we don't have a lot of people yet. Otherwise this thread will die before it starts!

Actually, I agree Elizabeth. Maybe some of us should make some extra characters though?

I'm up for starting whenever.

I hope nobody minds that I'm starting. I may make another character but probably after Jal dies.
Jal-
The first rays of sun are just peeping over the horizon but my net is already filled with fish. I learned this trick from Dad. Go out in the morning before the rest of the fisherman wake up and you will get the best catch. A few of the other very sucessful fisherman of District 4 do the same thing but they keep to their part of the water and I keep to mine.
I start to pull the heavy net out of the water, tying it together in one of my favorite knots so that no fish can jump out before they die. I heave the net onto the faded grey wood of the boat, causing it to shake dangerously. I turn the boat around and row to our dock, right in front of our run-down home/store. We used to live up the lane but after Mom's death I decided to move us because it was getting to be too much for me to run down to the dock every morning and carry the fish all the way home.
I tie the boat carefully to the dock, making sure the knot is secure, heave my fish out of the boat and walk to the back door of the house, a cloud of fish smell surrounding me. I set the net by the door, dry my bare feet off - Avi doesn't like water being tracked into the house - and enter.
The light is dim for there is only one window. The room that now serves as our house used to be an old store room. If Dad's home he sleeps in the loft I built that is stuffed with boxes of our stuff and dust. Avi and I sleep in the store room. As far away as possible from Dad.
"Did you get a good catch?" Avi bounces towards me, her arms outstretched.
"Yep. It looks like fish for breakfast."
Avi keeps the smile on her face but I notice how her eyes darken. We almost only eat fish now. Dried fish, pickled fish, cooked fish, baked fish, fried fish, fish soup, fish stew... Feeling guilty, I hug her and apologize. She buries her face into my reeking grey shirt. "It's fine. But I thought maybe..."
I pull away and cock my head to the side. "What?"
"I found Mom's old recipe for seaweed bread and I thought since today is the Reaping and all..."
I have completely forgotten the importance of today. The Reaping. How could I forget? This is my least year and if I can get through without going to the Games, I won't have to worry. I'll find a way to protect Avi when she turns 12.
"Jal?" I shake my head to clear it and focus on Avi again. I need to stop spacing out like this. There is no spacing out in the Hunger Games. if you do, you're killed.
"Sure, Avi. Sure, you can make Mom's bread. But we'll need to go get some seaweed. Do we have enough flour?" I agree, only because I want Avi to be happy. She doesn't remember Mom and the smell of her bread in the oven. I know we are risking Dad having a fit if he smells it baking but I will do anything for Avi.
"Yes, we do. I checked. And I already got seaweed." I grin and ruffle Avi's hair. "Well, why don't you get started then. I'll skin some fish."

When I wake up, Gramma Mags is over at the vanity, braiding Annie's hair. "Morning, Gramma," I say, "Morning, Annie."
I walk over to the table and grab an apple from the bowl. Annie must have brought them over; Gramma thinks fresh fruit is a waste of money. I love them. "How come you're here?" I ask as I bite into it. Juice drips down my chin.
"I can't be in my house. Not today," Annie whispers.
"Shoot, the Reaping's today, isn't it?"
Annie nods. "I don't even want to be in the Victor's Village," she whispers, "but I wanted to see Mags." Mags had been her mentor many years ago. They have a special bond because Annie thinks she owes her life to Mags. I can see Annie's about to cry so I change the subject, "How's Finnick?"
Her face lights up. "I just got a letter from him. He said he'd come home from the Capitol after the Games. And the good thing about the Games is we get to mentor together."
OOC: Will finish this later.

Question: Sorry, but this confused me. When is our story taking place? Because I thought Mags was dead. If Finnick is just coming back from the tour, wouldn't Mags be dead?
