A bunch of kids accidentally discover a time machine in the shape of a locket and whenever they travel through time their characters change to some awesome person with powers (in normal time they are dorky so give me both descriptions).

I'll join if it's not too late.

Name: Sam Elphick

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Personality: Rather abrasive, a guy who spends his time with books and gadgets more than people. He's kind of a hipster and is condescending to people all of the time. Depends heavily on science for explaining things. People really don't like him but it can't be denied that he's the best at building stuffs. It doesn't matter what it is, he can build it and it will work. (In the beginning time, he was fairly good at this, but it became his power when they traveled back.)

Appearance: Spiky dyed-green hair and brown eyes, always wearing a T-shirt with an obscure band name on it and jeans. Really tall.

Alt. Appearance: Pretty much the same, save for his eyes. The right one is midnight black, and the left is purple with a yellow ring around the pupil.

And because this thread needs reviving, I'll make the next post.

--

Sam rubs his forehead and stares at the small contraption. "What is wrong with you?" he begs it. It sits there, a locket clasped around a perfectly cut emerald. Within it, Sam can hear a slight ticking emanate from inside.

However hard he tries, though, it will not open. He has tested scalpels, picks, even a wedge against its unforgiving surface, but it hasn't yielded to any of them. Sam is quite past frustration at this point.

He turns it over in his fingers. The locket is quite plain. It shows no signs of his attacks on it. Gradually, he becomes aware of a warmth emanating from its placid gold. The tips of his fingers begin to tingle, and he places his thumb on the only point of entry to the mysterious inside - the brass catch.

The hook pops open easily under the pressure. Sam's eyes widen. This isn't possible. There is no scientific way...

No way...

No. Freaking. Way.

Where am I? Certainly not back in his shop. It seemed to be a library, but not a normal library. The bookshelves stretched high above Sam's head, filled with dusty tomes and miscellaneous other items.

The walls are hung with mirrors. Mirrors in every shape and size, tinted mirrors, three-dimensional mirrors. Even some of the book jackets are mirrored. Sam stands up slowly, seeing himself reflected around the room a thousand times.

"Whoa." The gasp escapes his lips before his brain can rationalize the change.

He looks different. Taller, maybe. A bit older. His bright green hair is more vibrant, and his face is thinner and more pointy than he remembers it. But the most startling difference is that of his eyes.

The right eye is pitch black, dark and soulless. He likens it to a black hole. The left, however, is a vibrant purple, with a bright yellow ring around the pupil.

A bemused smile cracks Sam's face. I think I like this.

So sorry for the lameness bu I don't want it to go on forever and he'll show up with the others soon enough. Blarg.

Name: Nymphadora (Harry Potter steal, I know, still, I like the name.) No last name.

Gender: Female

Personality; Smart, quiet, sweet, frequently smiling, always laughing. Protects those she cares about with her life. Is an archer, can fight well, if needed.

Taday! Cappie says wphv.

Durn! I just realized I didn't list her power or her age! Okay, here they are;

Age; 14-soon-to-turn-15

Power; She can teleport anywhere, so long as she has a good understanding of what it looks like, and it's not more than 500 yards away. Like, she can't teleport to Africa, since she's never been there, and doesn't quite know what it looks like. But she can teleport out of her bedroom and into the backyard. If that makes sense. Soo...

Also, are our characters supposed to have alternate looks? Cappie says zavb.

Okay, so, here's Nymphadora's alternate look...

Name: Same.

Short, dark brown hair that curls under just around her chin, bangs, always has a silver streak in her hair, just along her face, large golden eyes, a little thinner, a little taller, around 5'2 or 5'3. Paler. Wears time period clothing.

Personality pretty much the same, though a little more mischevous.

How's this? And, forgive me, but where are we right now?

It isn't too late, right? I read everyone's posts, which is a big achievement for me, reading on a screen for too long makes my head hurt.

Okay, here comes the most nerdy character ever (exception of me myself).

Name: Maddie Sybil

Age: 14

Appearance: Striped Orange and Blue Shirt, Braces, Glasses people might wear to look like a nerd, but she wears them because she needs them.

Personality: Math + Computers = life Free going, not energetic

************************* (I love asterisks)

Name: Maddie Silver

Age: 14

Appearance: brown jacket, perfect white teeth, steampunk goggles, black cape

Personaliy:  HYPER !! Still loves math and computers and still has almost 0 opnions, but bitter

Power: Genius; Can fly (but doesn't know it) She can calculate things quickly, her mind is always feverishly at work, and has a thing for making little mechanical animals appear out of nowhere

*************************************

Maddie Sybil looked down the hall. Late for reading class. AGAIN.

It wasn't necessarily her fault, she reminded herself. She had just gotten so worked up in math, she hadn't noticed when class ended.

Maddie felt the locket around her neck... The locket around her neck!? Since when was she wearing a locket around her neck?!? This was absurd, she told herself. You stay late in math class and someone manages to slip a locket around her neck without knowing.

It was actually very pretty... she'd examine it on her way to reading. She opened the locket with a bit of restraint and was swallowed up entirely.

0o0o0o0o0o0

She found herself standing in the lookout tower of a castle, overlooking a field. Her cape flew softly in the breeze as a tumult of noise wandered by. Her cape?! This was getting ridiclous! Why did her clothing keep changing?

Well, she thought to herself, it was quite obvious. Her mind caculated all of the possiblities, and with a 37% chance of being what had really happened, transportation to another time dimension. The sky darkened, and Maddie's goggles switched into night vision. Her goggles?! She really should examine herself in a mirror...

How's that???

Nymphadora stood, bow in hand, out in the middle of a field, where she knew she could practice archery without somebody walking in the line of fire. She notched an arrow. Just as she was about to fire, a huge pack of ravens shot into the sky, like some sort of funnel. They flew straight up, then shot straight down toward Nyphadora. She screamed and covered her face. The flew in a 5-foot radius around, nearly blocking out the sun. Then another bird, larger than the rest, flew straight down the center of the funnel, and landed on her head. It slipped something over her head, and around her neck, then they all took off, and were gone in seconds, as if nothin had happened. All that was there were her bow, unfired arrow, and... A locket. Some sort of locket hung around her neck. A pretty little thing. Golden, with a piece of ivy stamped into it. She slid the arrow back into her quiver, slung her bow over her back, and started toward home. She studied the locket as she walked. It wouldn't open at first, till she finally got her thumb nail in the latch. The locket sprang open, as if only just containing it contents. Nymphadora was enveloped in a bright shining light, and suddenly, she wasn't there anymore. She was standing in some sort of courtyard, like in medieval times. Archery targets stood lining the back wall. Weapons of all sort hung on the wall behind her. Swords, old fashioned bows, knives, javelins, and much more. Nymphadora turned a full circle. She realized she was in a castle courtyard. The castle looked just as she had always imagined them. Large, with grey stone slabs. Suddenly, she looked down at herself. She no longer looked like her. She was dressed in an ankle length, deep blue, velvet dress. The it had a white v-neck front, with gold string criss-crossing across it. Her shoes, though, thank goodness, were brown lace up boots. Then she realized she still had her bow and quiver. Where was she? Had this locket done this?

Okay, if it's alright with you, Lexi, I thought I might put Nymphadora in the same place as Maddie. So, anyway, I hope this is okay!

Agreed! Don't die! Since no one else has written, I'll go ahead and write again.

Nyphadora gazed around. Finally, just off to her left, she saw a door exiting the courtyard. She pushed it open, and followed a spiral staricase lit with torches up. Finally, she arrived at another door, and pushed it open. She found herself in a long hallway, lined with red velvet carpet. Banners, family crests, and elaborate swords and weapons lined the walls. Nyphadora began slowly walking down the hall. She passed a mirror hanging above a small table with an old fashion water pitcher and dish, used for washing your face on it. She stopped short when she saw her reflection. Her hair was no longer a blond shoulder length, but came just below her chin. It was a dark brown that tucked under her chin. She also had bangs. Along the side of her face she had a silver streak. She also realized she was a little taller, thinner too. Her eyes were now large and golden. 'Okay,' she thought to herself. Once again, walking down the hall. Finally, she came to yet another door. Again, she pushed it open and walked up. At the top, she stepped into a large chamber. A tower, she guessed. Standing by the window, a girl about her age stood. She turned when she heard Nymphadora enter. "Ahh," she said, evidently taking Nymphadora for someone else. "Can you tell me exactly where I am, and how I got here?" Nymphadora struggled to answer at first, being in a state of shock. "I don't really know. I guess you can't tell me either." "Wait," the girl said. "You mean, you're not from here?" Nymphadora shook her head. "This locket brought me here," Nymphadora said, pulling the locket out from under her dress. The girl's eyes widened. "That's..." she said haltingly, then pulled a locket, looking very similar, out from around her neck. We looked at each other.

Taday! Cappie yiia. Is he being insulting again?

Sam searches for a way out of the mirrored library. Or tries to, anyway - he is so distracted by the things he could do - over there lies a table strewn with metal pieces, and over there, rolls upon rolls of blueprint paper.

Finally he stumbles upon a doorway (quite by accident, he would never leave this place voluntarily) cut into the floor. He falls through with more than a little surprise, but soon discovers that he has but a few feet to fall. As his feet touch the ground below, he stumbles forward a little bit, and the doorway closes above him.

Sam scowls at the place where the doorway disappeared, and surveys the rest of the room. Two girls occupy it, obviously as surprised at his entrance as he is. They are both holding lockets identical to the one he still clutches in his fist.

Opening his hand, he gives a half-grin and says, "So, ladies, we all get a piece of bling and get here or is this some sorta magical derring-do from a guy who wants to epically mess up my life?"
