Yeah. Who's doing it this year? It's my first year and I'm really looking forward to it, because I have more than a germ of an idea before I actually start writing!
In short, does anyone have tips on getting through, experiences, plans, potential summaries?

Admins are still discussing whether to post your Nano username or not. We usually don't post any usernames or addresses for other sites, but we may make an exception for Nano. If you want me to post the comment without your username, let me know. Otherwise, we'll try to have a decision by sometime on Thursday.

I'm doing it this year! I'm not sure how it's going to work out, though... this is my first time and I'm not good at getting stuff done. Also, a member of the Dark and Dangerous species Evil History Teachers is trying to murder me with homework, so that's not going to help much. -__-
For anyone who wants to know, my NaNo username (Admins, you can take this out of the comment if you're censoring usernames) is alex_dragonlover. I think I'm already friends with Ivy *goes on NaNo* *checks* *confirms* but if anyone else wants to add me, please do!

I am... even though I'll be in Chicago watching shows all month... because I'm either insane or a masochist. Or both?
I've done NaNo for... what... five years now? Last year I stalled at 17k and failed miserably because my advisor died during the first week (;_;), but every other time I've made it over 50k (100k is my record; 75k is my average). I find the best way to do it is to, well, just do it. Force yourself to write every day and don't get behind or else. (the time I got 100k was because I made myself write at least 3,334 words every day, and then only update in increments of 3,334 every day, for a week, so that the word count bar graph went up evenly. After that week I had to keep writing because of my obsessive/compulsive tendencies. and that is the ONLY reason I met my goal.)
This year, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING :D so it should be fun.

I originally signed up for the Young Writers Program, but I wasn't sure if I should do the other one because I will be thirteen when Nano starts. I am going to try the adult.
