1. Why do you post on the CB under the name you use?
(I ask this question because there are some interesting stories behind such names. This isn't to say your name is inferior or anything, I'm just curious as to the reason.)
I don't actually know. Which is to say I don't remember. FYI I first posted on the CB a few years ago, and settled on the name Oregano for some really weird reason that I don't remember. I've occasionally posted under my real name, but only once or twice, and then out of habit - something asks you what your name is, you say your name. This year I've only posted under my real name on one thread, the Sewing I sup... thread on Pudding's place. When I realized that I just turned it into a joke.
2. How did you find out about the CB?
I don't remember that either, but I think it had something to do with memorizing the cricketmagkids.com link and first finding my way to the author and artist corner, and then poking around everywhere else out of pure boredom. I found my way here pretty fast, though at first I only posted on the Inkwell.
3. What is your favorite school subject?
WHY AM I ASKING MYSELF THIS QUESTION!!!! I don't know. (This is pretty pathetic, I can't even answer my own questions.) Latin maybe. Biology is fun. Phisycal education (I prefer the term "fizzèd" and yes I made that up). Not really sure.
4. What is your favorite section of the CB to post on?
Inkwell.
5. Do you prefer RRs or RPs?
Not sure. Probably RPs. It's really fun assuming the character of another person. But RRs are really fun too.

6. Do you wear socks inside your sneakers?
Yes.
7. What is your favorite genre of music?
Classical and most movie music. I like old English dance, too, but nowadays that counts as classical.

Fiction? A Wrinkle in Time (Madeline L'Engle). Nonfiction? Wheelock's Latin. But not cover to cover.
9. Have you ever been in the hospital?
Other than being born, no. Actually I don't remember well but I may have been, once or twice other than that, to visit someone.
10. Do you have a crush on anyone?

I use the name Lizzy because there is another person (Elizabeth M) named Elizabeth so I use my nickname.
2. How did you find out about the CB?
I got the magazine and I sometimes went online to recomend a book or something and I saw Chatterbox. That was I think about when it first began. I posted a little and then forgot about it and then just recently (February) I got back on. Not sure why I just decided to then.
3. What is your favorite school subject?
Grammar or math I think.
4. What is your favorite section of the CB to post on?
It changes to often for me to decide.
5. Do you prefer RRs or RPs?
RPs for sure.
6. Do you wear socks inside your sneakers?
Usaully, yes.
7. What is your favorite genre of music?

In the begining I posted as Sarah, which is (wait for it) my real name. But then for somereason I was trying to type a capital 'B' and my pinky finger slipped from the shift to z, and so ZB was born :D But is does have a nice ring to it, doens't it.
2. How did you find out about the CB?
My friend charged into me like a bull yelling "SARAH SARAH YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT THIS WEBSITE I FOUND!!!!!!!!!" In her awesome British accent. Yes, I have a British friend. Who's name is Sarah. How skillaged is that?!
3. What is your favorite school subject?
History, no question.
4. What is your favorite section of the CB to post on?

RPs. I like making up characters.

Currently reading Percy Jackson 1, The Hobbit, and Star Girl. Multi tasking is my thiing now-a-days.

Yes, I spent weeks going to the hospital to visit my grandpa before he died.

Well, I knew I wasn't allowed to post on the CB with my name, so I wanted to come up with another name for myself. I was looking out the window, and decided to use something to do with nature. I was thinking maybe sage or lavender, but then I thought, "Why not go even simpler and just do 'leaf'? And the name was born.
2. How did you find out about the CB?
I was looking at Cricket one day, and saw that they were going to do a website. I got very excited and then would check every day to see if it was up yet. When it was, I was extremely excited and then saw that there was a "Chatterbox" that was yet to be set up. I started reading the threads when it got started, but I didn't think my parents would allow me to post. Finally, they told me I could post in the summer of 2010, I believe. And that is my CB story. :)
3. What is your favorite school subject?
@Fizzèd: I don't like PE, but I think that is hilarous, Oregano!!
I personally love English, since you know, I love books and writing and all that sort of thing, and I also had the best teacher ever in that class. I also enjoy History, since I also had a fantastic teacher and I like American history. (A lot of the things we learned really helped me understand modern-day politics. And I am interested in politics.) I also like science, but mostly space and the like. I loved, loved learning about the Doppler Effect. My parents are scientists and so they're always talking about it. Oh, I love when my parents take me on nature walks and then point out all the plants and tell me why they're so special. I think I'm getting off topic here, aren't I? Moving on.
4. What is your favorite section of the CB to post on?
Well, I don't think I have a favorite, but I guess I'd say Down to Earth, since that's what I usually go to first and post in the most. But I really like everything!

Aha! I like your choice in music, Oregano! I love classical music, folk-y music (fiddle, contra dance music, etc.), and musicals. I know that's three, but what can you do? And soundtracks. (Yes, that's four.) I've ranted about music before, so I don't really want to repeat myself here.

I love A Wrinkle in Time, Oregano! Such a good book. I love the rest of the quintet as well.
But to my books. The last book I finished was Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. <--amazing book! But I'm in the middle, currently, of The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (also fantastic book) and Pride and Prejudice by the one and only Jane Austen. And this awesome book about Mary Dyer that I found in my grandma's bookshelf.
9. Have you ever been in the hospital?
Well, I was born there, and I had to go the the ER a few years ago when I cut my chin. Want to hear the story? No? Well here goes. I was running to get my viola (no, I don't play often or well, but in this case, I was playing in a group with my parents and was late to practice) which was in the family room on a brick ledge. There was a guitar case in front of the brick ledge. In the room, there were two chairs, both of which were long and stuck out into the main part of the room where I was running. You can see where this is going. I tripped over the chairs, and went flying across the room, and then in the guitar case with my face. Thank goodness it was there. However, my chin hit either the guitar case latch or a brick (my parents still haven't come to a conclusion about that) and got cut. So I went to the ER to have it glued. Gluing is very fun and cool and much better than stitches. It felt very good. /rambling

Oh hi everyone. The Facebook group guilted me into coming back, so uh..yeah. Hi.
1. Why do you post on the CB under the name you use?
Uh, my middle name's MacKenzie, and a year or two ago I was completely in love with the name Kenzie, so I started going by that rather than Paige.
2. How did you find out about the CB?
It was advertised in the magazine. Several months before the website was even working, actually. I was SO excited for it to open, but every time I checked, the CB was still "too buggy".
3. What is your favorite school subject?
None lol.
Though I enjoy teaching myself things about nutrition and dieting and stuff. Which I guess I originally learned in health class. So does that make health my favorite subject? Oh gosh.
4. What is your favorite section of the CB to post on?
I used to really like DtE because it used to be 90% debates and well thought-out discussions. But it's different now. :/
5. Do you prefer RRs or RPs?
I never did either. I'm not the biggest fan of writing. Or reading.
...don't ask me why I ever got Cricket, because I'm not totally sure. I love Cicada though. And don't ask me why.

Occasionally.

I listen to literally all types of music except mainstream/pop. I can't choose a favorite.
8. What was the last book you read?
The Catcher In The Rye. It's probably the best book I've ever read, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it for this general age group.

Yeah, several times a month; most recently on Thursday.

You're welcome. From time to time we wonder how the former Chatterboxers we no longer hear from are doing. So we're really happy when they check in from time to time! We considered you the first hostess of Chatterbox, because you always welcomed new people and explained the workings of the different sections to them.

1. Why do you post on the CB under the name you use? I used to post under my real name, Hannah, but 1: I don't really like my real name, and 2: I started to feel a bit uncomfortable putting my real name on the internet. So now I go by 'Kiwi' because it's my fruit nickname among a group of friends. I love kiwis!
2. How did you find out about the CB? I used to get the Cricket magazine and I read that you could chat to Frederick S. Durbin on this website. So I went on it, and that's how it started.
3. What is your favorite school subject? I used to like English, but now I have to do literature which I do not like! I mean, I love to read, but I don't like it as a subject at all! Don't I read enough already?! And the book that I use is from a public school and the questions are so annoying and they seem to just ask the same questions over and over again in different ways.
4. What is your favorite section of the CB to post on? Down to Earth and Pudding's Place.
5. Do you prefer RRs or RPs? I don't know what a 'RR' is, so I guess RPs.

I went back and read the part in my comment where I said "I love kiwis!" and found that it sounded a bit conceited, like I love myself or something. But that is not what I mean! Well...I love wolves, and I'm a girl, so when I was kind of young I started this character called Wolfgirl, a girl who could turn into a wolf. After a while, the character developed, and it turned out that I was the 67th Wolfgirl. So when I came on, I used that name. At first, though, for my first two posts, I was Mary T.
2. How did you find out about the CB?
I was rereading one of my old issues of Cricket when I spied the name for the website. So, I came on, and eventually found my way to the CB. I've been on for a year and a few months now.
3. What is your favorite school subject?
Well, I'm homeschooled, but my favorite subjects are writing and reading. Social studies is okay, but usually my mom makes me do math. >.< Which I hate, by the way.

Honestly, I think they're tied. I like writing together with a group and creating a story, but I also like becoming a character.
