Does anyone have/had braces? I'm getting them a week from tomorrow! I"M SO SCARED! People are telling me that I shouldn't be scared, but my brother had braces, and he hated them so much! He said they hurt for almost a WEEK! I'm so scared! My dad said to me "Welcome to my world," he had bad teeth just like me, except he had to wear head gear. I'm going to get some teeth pulled too!!!!! My Dentist said it doesn't hurt, but for some reason, I only believe her a little. I'M SOOOOO SCARED!

So, when are you getting yours? I'm getting mind next week. :( Exactly a week. Do you have you separators in yet? They separate your teeth so it doesn't hurt as much when they put on the braces. I have to have four teeth pulled! :'(

Oh, I don't have a date yet, but the next dentist appointment I have (sometime within the next week or so) they'll probably schedule a date. Unfortunately (or, for me, fortunately!), our insurance doesn't cover it, so it'll be a while. :B I don't have separators, obviously. I know one girl who just got braces, and she won't tell me if it hurt or not, so she won't scare me... :( It's not very reasuring... :(:( Four teeth pulled? Yeah, that will hurt, but my friend had eight teeth pulled! When she was eight! :O I'll pray for you on Wednesday. :D

I've never had to have braces or get teeth pulled, so I kind of got lucky with pretty straight teeth. The bad thing is, I got stuck with the cavity mouth. I have six :(:( but it's not because I don't brush my teeth! (and I do brush them, a LOT!) it's because I have soft enamel. :(:( My cousin had to get her tooth pulled and she said it didn't hurt too bad. Worrying about it is actually worse than the real thing!!

Both my parents have mercury fillings, so they don't trust the dentists. I have never in my life been to a dentist's office. :) Weird, eh?

Thanks for the advice!!!!! It's pretty helpful, I"ll try not to worry too much, but I still kind of worry!!!!!!!!! I've had a cavity, but it was a baby tooth. So it didn't need to be pulled out!!!!! I'm having my braces for two years, boy will that be fun. *rolls eyes* yeah, so I'm not worrying anymore, well, I'm worrying just a LITTLE bit, thanks to all of you!

Did you get them on yet? Don't worry about it--my sister has had them on for almost 2 years, too, and she got used to them very quickly!:):):) I'm sure your teeth will feel fine.:):):) Anyway, even if your teeth ache just a teensy tiny bit, it's an excuse to have some ice cream to help them feel better!:):):):D:D:D Hee, hee, hee!:):):)

My sister has braces and my brother will need them soon.:# My sister says I'm VERY lucky, because my mom says that I don't need any!:(: They seem kind of cool to me--my sister says I'm crazy.:):):)

Oh don't worry you guys it will just make it worse. I have had my braces on for a little more than a year. I had to have spacers, palate expander, retainer, retainer and braces, and now just braces! You can't have anything worse than that!!!:D:D:D:DThey are not bad after you get past the first week or two. Are you going to have to wear elastics??? They are a pain.
