Avatar!!!! Omg, I
Avatar!!!! Omg, I went to see it in 3D and it was AAAMMMMAAAZZZIIINNNNGGGG. I can't get enough of it!!! :) Has anyone else seen it? It took four and a half years to make the movie. Why? Because as you should know, it's about life on another planet. Well, they had to make a WHOLE NEW WORLD. It's like the coolest planet ever!!! :D XP Hee Hee! Anyway, my favorite part is when the main alien girl, (I really can't even try to spell her name!) sees Jake Sulley as a human. It is so precious. Oh no, I'm gonna cry! :'( That won't make sense unless you have seen the movie. Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend that you go and see this movie, in 3D if possible. IT IS WORTH IT. HaHa, I'm a little crazy today. Sorry if this doesn't make sense. :) But, it is a movie to cry over.

That movie will change the future of special effects, acording to my brother.. I have not seen it, but he, as the film guru, has been going gaga over it for weeks.

Bob, or Spamboy, or whatever we decided to call him says, "TOP!!!" (Not really :)

I keep hearing that it's really good and my dad is dying to see it. But tell me, is there ANY, and I mean ANY graphic violence? Because I don't want to see it in the theater if there is. Violence makes me feel sick, and if I'm in a theater where I can't escape, I'll just feel horrid.
See, the only people I've talked to who've seen it around here are adult men, and they say it's not really violent, but I don't know what to make of that! After much effort, my dad convinced my mom to go with him to see it... he wants to see it in 3D, that's what a cousin did and he said it was amazing, but mom's not so sure, she gets dizzy. So do I. I had to take off the glasses in a 3D movie at Legoland, for crying out loud. Dad wanted to see Up in 3D, but I said I couldn't, which is sad, because you could tell he really wanted to.
I think what I'll do is let my parents see it, and then when it comes out on DVD, I'll watch it, and have them tell me when not to look. I know I sound pathetic, but really, why make myself not feel good when I have a choice?
I'm glad you saw it and had a good time! Congrats!

Yeah, there is a lot of violence. In my opinion, the movie completely lacks any sort of plot, so it tries to make up for it with LOTS of special effects, violence, explosions, killing, etc. I didn't like it at all. It was really disrespectful to the military.

I went and saw it with my brother on his birthday. It was great!!! Did you know that the Na'vi (it that how you spell it?) are real actors? Rather then CGing all the scene they had actors play that parts and wear outfits that tracked their every move. Even their face expressions. Then they just pasted the CG skin over top. Neat huh?

Yah, I read that on wiki. Pretty cool. I bet it was a heck of a lot easier too. :)

Well, I thought the plot was very good. It took a long time to cover the entire plot, maybe because of the added violence, but it definitely had a plot. :) In a way, the plot was some what like Pochohantas. The chief's daughter, Naitiri (spelling? That's the main alien girl), falls in love with a "foreigner". The "foreigner", Jack, is supposed to be getting rid of the aliens, but he also falls in love with Naitiri, so ends up fighting on the opposite, alien side. See? Kind of a common plot in many stories. Just a tad bit more violence than Pochohontas! :) Laura, I suggest you don't see it in theaters. :)

Thank you, R~D~. :)

I didn't like it. Like Maddy said, it was very disrespectful to the military. Plus, it was THREE. HOURS. LONG. If you are going to see a movie in theaters, skip Avatar and go for The Princess and the Frog instead. It is much, much better.

I have a feeling this is going to turn into a debate thread.... I think state how you feel, but don't insist that something was better. To you, tPatF was probably better, however, others may feel Avatar was. :) I haven't seen either, so I can't give you my opinion. :D

HaHaHa, see The Princess and the Frog if you can't handle any violence at all. How was it disrespectful to the military? The military were invading the alien's land and destroying their homes!!! Isn't that what was happening in Pocahontas?? (I haven't seen that movie in a while...) Aren't you mad at our cruelty to the natives? Well, that's basically what's happening here. I am NOT getting mad. Just stating some facts. :S :)
Oh, and if you were enjoying the movie, three hours passes very quickly. A good time on a rainy day. (Ha, it's been raining for four days straight here in WA. :( )

It is disrespectful to the military by portraying them as money- & disaster-loving people when really they are fighting to save our lives.
