What are some of your favorite authors or books? Share some (or all, and I'm assuming you;ll do the second) Some of mine are Wings of Fire, KotLC, anything by Rick Rioridan, anything by Brandon Mull, Story Theives, The lunar chronicals, Warriors, Morrigan crow, Land of Stories, Sisters Grimm and many, many more. I currently own over 270 chapter books, with tons on my wish list :D
Do you have any pets? My family has a dog, his name is Bailey, and he's a boxer/lab mix. He's gettin on in years; he's 12/13 in human years
Any sibs? I have two younger brothers, and a 34 year old stepbrother- he's already got a son, so I'm an aunt- talk about strange! My nephew is like, 1 1/2, I think now. I haven't met him yet, my brother and fam live in a completly different state

ok and now... Monday 1/29/2024:
So An is basically the bestest ever. She's such a nice human being, and so funny, and also is so smart and has mad soccer skills and basketball skills and tennis skills and running skills and - ok, basically she excels in everything she does :D (including she came into orchestra playing piano and now she plays triangle, tambourine, and I think other percussion instruments too?). Um, but yeah. She's the one I told you pulled me into the dance and we all linked hands and danced around in a circle, which was pretty fun. And she is seriously beautiful. Like, no makeup or whatever, naturally beautiful. Like wow. Except I don't think people really notice - I didn't notice for a good while - which is sorta shocking. Maybe cause she wears less-(to)-not-at-all fashionable clothes?? I feel like we kinda both just throw on whatever maybe?? I mean, it's definitely different from everyone else at our school, who's super fashionable and stuff. Anyways, so she's beautiful. And the days she wears her hair down? It's just, like, ok woah who is this person?? While still being the same ordinary overacheiving friendly good sometimes-a-bit-awkward person that she is. :) :)

ok, so now relating to today, we had a school spirit day, and she wore a jean jacket with her hair down and eekkkk she's sTuCk iN mY mInD that's awesome (and pink leggings haha but it looked so gooood on her). And then yay she talked to me again even though I always ignore her! Bc we were both just sitting at the lunch table and I was working on something for my BFF and she was like "what are you working on?" (and by now her hair was already back in a ponytail and still!!) and I gave an actually halfway decent answer!! Yay!! :DD yeah that's it, what a simple-but-that-makes-it-great thing to get so excited about, I think! :)
oh wait I just realized I could've shortened this so much... but ah well! :) Here's what I posted on random thoughts/things! I danced with my squish - ah no not like that, like... we were... um, but yeah! It was good! And then also An asked me what I was doing and what I have a decently non-awkward-ish answer for once and she looked so ~pretty~ today!! How's your day so far?
But yeah! I suddenly love jean jackets smmmm XD And separating this into two posts- or maybe not actually you already know the R rant now, and if I don't go now I'm gonna end up getting 3 hours of sleep again so yay bye!! :) *~disappears~*

Ugh sorry I'm giving you so many posts to respond to... just wondering if you're Lauren H. from Texas? From the Feb Cricket mag, favorite 1st sentences :) and if so, congrats on getting in!! And Dragonslayer YESSS!!! My 1st ever WOF book and got me going for the whole series and menagerie and Tui's blog too and Ik I already ranted about this but Wren is the awesomest and Sky and snails and turtles ahhh!! Wow, and now I'm feeling nostalgic cuz I think was this what I said my first post here on this thread? Um, ANYWAYS :)

True... I guess people do get busy as they get older. I don't really want to stare at a screen forever either, I suppose :P But I mean, I probably will for a while yet :)
I was just thinking last night, Wow, I don't have any friends right now. Because my texan 'friends' well, we had a fight a few months ago, and everything just has been sort of unstable since, and we've defineltely drifted apart. No one has volintarily texted me, or even asked how the move was. but THEN I remembered CB! Celine! and everyone else! I mean, you bothered to remember and ask how the move was! Love you for that btw <333 But it's still taking a toll on me, not having people my age to talk to irl. I'm the sort of person who needs that :(
So, the move was pretty stressful and it was definetely the worst move ever. We don't have a house, so we are staying in Air BNBs until we do. We had to unload our 26 foot moving truck ourselves into storage units, which went from 9am to 9pm took sooooo long. And we had to leave so much of our stuff behind because it wouldn't fit in the truck! we even left a day late because we were so behind, and there was a bunch of stuff wrong with the truck itself, and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
But there was a funny part. We had this neighbor, and she's old. I'm pretty sure she had dementia or something. But anyway, she drives her truck around the neighbor hood every day, for no reason at all, she isn't very nice, and doesn't like us for some reason. But anyway, when we were leaving with the truck and everything, she happened to be driving around and then she followed us out of the neighbor hood and down the highway! She seriously followed us for a whole HOUR, and probably only turned around because we stopped at a weigh station. But it was SO FUNNY XD

So KY is super strange with time zones! Half of it is central, the other eastern! But where I'm at it's eastern time. I really, really, really, hope I find my people here too. And thanks again for checking in so many times! I srsly love you so much for that </3333 like I said, would've moved on the first but haha, moved on the second! crazy thing is, we moved from California to Texas in Febuary, so I lived exactly 11 years in CA, then we moved to KY, so I lived exactly 4 years in TX!
And please. I don't care if you if you post 123 comments before I respond. I love hearing from you, even if I haven't answered! I always jump on reading what you said as soon as the post comes up :)

Will respond to the rest later bc ACK it's Lunar New Year's Eve what am I doing I should be getting ready but, ahh I totally forgot, I did listen to one of them, like we are the dreamers, we make it happen, cause we believe it or smth bc you said you loved those lyrics and there was like a big whale flying in the sky and there was this other non-BTW man singing and oh wait was it Jung Koo if that was that BTS person's name... ahh you've corrupted me I know their names now (prob spelled that wrong though)!! :DD
..ok yeah that got rambly. Anyways, I did like that one, though I don't really remember it as much now; honestly none of the BTS songs are really my favorites ever though I do mean everything I say about them, but anyways I was wondering if you like Cpop as well as Kpop (or at least BTS Kpop?)? Cause I was like, hey!, if we're exchanging Asian song recs, I have some recommendations duh! :)

a. Holding the door open for person after person after person after person... I'm probably gonna be late to class someday doing this. But, ok! My brother does this too! And my dad! And you can imagine my mom who totally doesn't understand this behavior getting so annoyed bc we keep holding the door until there's literally no one in sight, so even when people are walking really slowly from a long distance away, if we can see them, we hold the door. Yup my parents raised us to be too polite haha :)

b. Apologizing profusely bc I really do feel really bad and feel the need to make that clear probably to other people's annoyance...
c. Am always understanding (I hope) other people's povs, which I suppose is a good thing, except that it makes it hard to be mad at ppl...
d. Ok but anyways, I don't even know where I was going with this. The funny thing is that I'm not really a nice person, I just like to nice things, and everything I do has to be genuine or else I feel extremely guilty and want to take everything back, and that sounds like what a good person would do, but I'm as selfish as any other human being is! :) but I suppose you can be nice and selfish at the same time... idk, pangolin always puts this so much better than me haha, but yeah. I was going to say more but I forgot.
but anyways, the POINT, I ignore her bc it feels weird not ignoring her bc I started off the year sorta ignoring her cuz I wasn't certain how to interact with her (Ik, it's awesome, right? /sar :) ) and then I finally understood that, hey, Celine, you may not have known these people your whole life, and your friends who were your friends your whole life may not be here, and you may be starting a whole totally new private school (which, btw, I do not need to rant about anymore yay!, bc while I still don't like certain ppl, there are way more nice ppl here than I thought initially, maybe now that I've decided to open my eyes/mind more, maybe now that I've spent more time with them, idk, but I'm happy about it (and some of it is because I decided to actually approach ppl and be brutally honest as I'm apt to do haha, like, hey, do you want me to actually interact with you (no kidding, I actually sent a friend an email about that last month (this month?), that was the main message haha)) :) ), but that doesn't mean you have to totally alienate yourself from ppl and there's nothing stopping you from asking a friend, what did you get on the math test?, but yourself! :D except by then it was too late and I thought it was weird to SUDDENLY be taking an interest in someone's math test scores when everyone else has been asking other ppl since the start of the year... and Ik I COULD start now and no one would be like "I don't want to be friends with you anymore", but haha I also have basically no courage (see: my poem on the regular poetry thread :/ I still rue the day. AKA yesterday)... that should be my motto: no courage, just awkwardness :)
ok and this is totally a rant now, isn't it? Ok, let's try to get this train on track... again. I basically ignore her because I've been ignoring her for so long Ik I could technically stop but the longer I do it the harder it is to stop and now it feels like I don't know how not to ignore her to the point where I can't even tell her "hi". And it doesn't make it better that half of the time she talks to me, I embarrass myself by
a. ~awkwardness~
b. totally missing everything she's saying/interpreting things wrong
c. being horribly wrong (usually when she's asking me a question about math)
d. ~smile and nod and do nothing else the whole time yay!~
e. laughing and I can't stop
f. just staring at her. Seriously. I do this way too much. I mean, why can't you just, y'know, speak?? Like, why can you never think of an appropriate answer when she says something like, "wow, math class is going to be empty today"?? You just stare at her instead and make her feel awkward and leave and then you go back to reading. Wow. That's great. Just great. *slow clapping*
:) so yeah, you see my predicament. Really isn't so bad though, she doesn't seem to care as much as I do haha, I think she thinks that this is just the way I am so she can't fault me for it... you all know different though :) I mean, imagine me, speechless?? *gasps* :0 and let me remind you this is ALL. THE. TIME. I can 6go a whole day without saying even a word to her even though I sit with her at lunch and have class with her haha.
btw, An and R are two different people, sorry, it's complicated. R's more of a squish, and An's... well, she's the one who's complicated for me. :)
okk this got seriously long it feels like... and ahh company's coming over soon I still have to clean my room and shower and Do Stuff at least we've returned the 19 overdue library books so we don't have to pay 300-whatever dollars (don't ask) soo...
oh and just curious, you prob know, but how old do you think I am? :)

I haven't listened to C-pop, though I am open to suggestions! And actually, I recently found another Kpop band that I like, a nine member girl band called TWICE (they have really good songs actaully)
Yeah, sounds like a whole pile ~aWkWaRdNeSs~ but honestly, sound like you really, really need to break out of that! I know it sounds both amazing but scary, and I know you say that you have no courage, but I think you do. I mean, look at you on here! You always have so much to say, and you are amazing and funny and kind and just so..... I don't know! So Celine and such a 'friend person'! I really believe you have it in you. And hey! Laughing and not being able to stop is my favorite thing EVERRRRR! But anyway. Maybe explain to her that you just clam up when anyone talks to you? But you do want to be friends and just needs time (like, years and years) to warm up? Okay, terrible advice from me, but yeah...
I have kinda simular problems? I've gotten a little better at approaching people and talking to them (like, if they're my age or younger, [at least, if they're my age and a girl, I just don't know what to do around boys my age unless I know them... that's my akwardness...]) but I cannot go knock on someone's door, it's really hard to go ANYWHERE by myself, and I never know where to look. Like, would it be weird look at the guy with the glasses over there? Or maybe should I smile at the baby in the cart? I try not to look at ANYONE because then I feel like if they noticed it would make them feel akward and I'd hate that? Or they'd be like why the heck is the girl staring at me....??? hhhhhh so yeah.... I also try so hard to not do anything embarrassing in public, or make mistakes because I feel like doing that makes me think that people around me are thinking, that was stupid, or something.
And have I mentioned why I like swimming? Well, part of it is because it's the only time I feel graceful. Y'know, unless someone is near me and I kick them (but like, that's totally their fault.... right?) On land, I trip over air, knock things over and ram into doorways like nobody's buisness. Totally not funny, so don't laugh! (Actually, I'm laughing so go ahead) So I feel like whenever I'm out and about I have to be careful not to trip or bump into anything, but THEN I'm focusing on that so much I never watch my back, so I like turn around and run into people or back up into people or just stand in the way and don't realize and THAT makes me feel akward....

Hmm, 14/15? I'd assume? But more 14 right now? You definetely seem my age. WHICH REMINDS ME!!!! My birthday is on the 12th and I'm so excitedddddd I'll be 15 and so I'm closer to getting my drivers liscense! I really, really can't wait to drive. Are you excited to drive, or want to even?

Popping in quickly again bc ahh we just finished with the Lunar new year eve celebration THEN the Lunar new year celebration (Ik, we had to have 2 different celebrations on 2 different days! Not that I'm complaining; who knew marshmallows dipped in white chocolate fountain, while probably not exactly Chinese or whatever, is SO GOOD?!?? I mean, I did. But it's been years since I've ate it, so. Um, anyways) and NOW we have to have a Superbowl celebration?!?? :/ at least I get to eat chips XD. But anyways, wanted to respond to 2 points bc they won't stop bugging me:
1. YESS Chinese dragons are the best!!! ***I know, we are, right? YAYY!!!*** ::/For once, I've gotta agree with Ce. Chinese dragons rule! Happy year of the dragon everyone!\:: ***too bad it's the year of the wood dragon instead of the year of the water dragon... but DRAGONS!!!*** heheh, yes, if you remember, my AEs Celine (not me!) and Sapphire are Chinese water dragons :) and yes Chinese dragons are normally protective and friendly and want to spread peace and harmony and are just the awesomest it's sad they don't get depicted in media more often (though I do love western dragons too! :) )! Also they make EPIC prints on towels (we have some with dragons flying through a storm holding pearls idk it's hard to describe but it's really cool :) )
2. I've been reading through the CB reunion threads (so excited!! Are you? :) ) and I think Gloomy Bear mentioned she likes TWICE too? And I think I may have heard of them before... the name and your description sounds SO familiar... if I'm thinking of the right group, they do have some pretty good songs (and dancing?)! Um idk if this is really your style but one of my favorite Cpop songs is Share by Sky Wu; it's all in Mandarin though so I recommend looking up the version with English words too (I think the version posted by cpopaholic is a good one because it has the lyrics in Chinese characters, pinyin, AND English) bc haha really beautiful lyrics and really beautiful song and really beautiful just message in general, I think it does warrant listening to the whole thing. :)
