Sorry, I haven't had time to listen to any songs... also the reason why this post is gonna seem a bit rushed bc what it's already 4:07 am how did the time pass so fast this is NOT healthy to be staring at your phone for 4 hours straight (and to think I avoided all this trouble just a few short years ago! Well, Ig it's my parents' fault for making me get a phone... though I also take part responsibility :/) so yup rushing! :)

Hmm... pen pals. I don't remember what I've already said about them but oh well. I have 3? But uh. One of them I met at a summer camp years ago and we started penpalling (is that a word?) and then idk we... stopped. I saw her again by coincidence last year but... she's super talented and sorta famous now woah and I think we don't know how to really act around each other anymore (at least as good friends) cuz we're not the same girls we were at 7 and then at that chance meeting I think she and her family invited us to a thing she was doing and we went and I wrote her a super honest letter talking about feelings and growing apart and understanding and basically asking if she wanted to be friends again and gave it to her... she's an amazing person, but I think I may have scared her off a bit? Who knows. Before that meeting we didn't have any communication for like years, and I must say I have no idea if I was ever really that appreciative of how awesome she was when we were in touch - I also recall an instance of not really respecting her personal space, I kept on going through her bag cuz I thought it was all fun and games and then things disappeared - and then I sort of forgot about her for a few years and then now it's like all of a sudden I want to be friends again?? And it's not bc of the fame at all, but I'm scared she thinks it is. Anyways I told her not to worry about sending me a letter asap and to take her time bc I didn't want anything but an honest response from her, and in that spirit, not responding at all was completely fine too. Which it is, as I've said, I like to consider myself an extremely patient person, and I'm content to wait even decades if she ever still wants to send me a letter back. And even if she doesn't. I'm honestly weirdly not bothered at all if she doesn't want to be friends anymore, I've got my own life and she's got hers and... well, yeah. But then at the same time I'm also kinda scared she

a. lost the letter and never read it

b. couldn't read it for some other reason

c. couldn't read my handwriting XD

d. wants to write but I forgot to put my address and she lost it (from being penpals before)

e. sent a letter but it got lost and assumes I don't want to be friends anymore

f. forgot all about the letter

but yup! My other penpal is my BFF. We stopped bc we literally saw each other every day XD. She moved during covid but we're still in touch, besides playdates and emails and random meetups, I'm basically guaranteed to see her every month since we're in scouts together! We're actually meeting up tomorrow night! And my last pen pal is my most consistent one... as in we send like a letter a year to each other. Sometimes it takes me months to send a letter, I'll finish the letter and keep forgetting to mail it and by the time I know it it's been half a year already! But it's so fun! Um anyways.

Yes! I can definitely draw you! Once I find some time... Which is likely not soon, sorry.

Nope! Not Taiwanese at all (though it's a bit funny how everyone we tell about the trip ask if we are, prob cuz we're Asian)! We just love the place! This is my second time going, the first was when I was too young to remember, and WOAH. Tai Wan advertisement coming up! This place is AWEMAZING (totally a word when it comes to Tai Wan)!! Everything is twice as good for half as much, literally all the food is just eeeeeekkkkkk!!!, the people are the nicest ever (literally, in the US when ppl driving try to cut into a lane, the person in that lane usually speeds up in order to not let that person go through, but in Tai Wan people slow down! Like, here! Cut me! Have a nice day! :D) I could rant about their politeness and friendliness and random kindness all day, plus it's really naturey there! Like, rivers and cities and birds and people and trees and highways just coexisting together! In fact, I will rant more! But later. I think you'd like it a lot bc of... well, stuff. :)

Holidays! Well, on Christmas ppl just walked randomly around the streets handing out candy and treats to everyone passing by and everyone is very much in the "Christmas spirit"!! We went to an amusement park sorta thing where there's like a kind of a leap of faith and this person dressed up as Santa Claus just went around the whole place (I think they were just another visitor like us too!) shouting "HOHOHO! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!" and leaping off the leap-of-faith shouting that XD. Case in point. It was awesome. And then New Years idk if you've heard about the Tai Bei 101 fireworks (I think they're sorta famous?)? Which speaking of, after years of just seeing Tai Bei 101 in drawings, it was a wonder to see it irl!! Such a beautiful building with such rich meaning and architecture! I could stare at it all day (well, in theory)!! :DD

and it's 4:49 I really have to get off the screen... bye!

yess Tai Wannnn!!! Anyways, I said I think you'd like it bc - and not to reinforce if there's a stereotype that this is everything Asian culture is btw, it's totally not, this is just one thing we saw there during the holiday season and stuff - walking around in this big square there are big groups of ppl dancing everywhere, almost exactly like those BTS videos you recommended to me! Just imagine, everywhere you look, ppl dancing to music that's I think Cpop??? Is there Taiwanese pop?? Idk, but it was cool. Everyone seemed to be having fun, which made us have fun too. :) besides that, we saw a DJ, a bunch of ppl singing (look up "xue mao song" (snow cat song) - idrk about the lyrics but the song is so cute!! Again, not to reinforce any stereotypes that may or may not be out there that Asian culture is only "cute" and that's it :) but this song!! And the person singing it was so good and friendly and just standing there basically taking requests from ppl and had a big crowd and when no one came up to request a song instead of just standing there awkwardly she, like, interacted with the audience and got a little kid to come up and sang it for the little kid (bad explanations, sorry, it was just really nice to watch :) )), someone playing the er hu (look it up too! Beautiful instrument!)! That person was really good too, and it was the nicest experience ever bc when we put in some coins bc we loved their music they just looked up and smiled and it was so awkward and so genuine and horrible explanations ahh :) :) :)

oh I've gotta go... but more rants soon I promise! And I will find a time to listen to the songs... sometime... yeah... :/

yess that's me too!!! I just stand at the edge of the dance circle and want to join in SO MUCH but I can't get my legs to move until An (yeah you've probably heard me rant about her, she's basically like my only friend at the new school who like regularly makes an effort to actually associate with me whaa???) grabs my hand and pulls me in... I do hope you can find your soulmate (or multiple soulmates!!) sometime! It's honestly an amazing experience (I think that actually soulmates can change btw if that makes sense bc now you've got me thinking about it, so yup), speaking as someone who has amazing friends (including you!)!! And you should totally join the dance party!! It's easier if you have good friends who a. Will pull you in like An did (seriously, just 1 friend makes all the difference) or b. Will stand awkwardly in the corner with you and just spin around like crazy bc neither of you have the guts to actually dance so we just spin and get dizzy and fall down with ppl dancing all around us seriously it's way more awesome than it sounds and it's just as good as dancing like another one of my friends did last year before I transferred (before I abandoned her and everyone else for this new school... but we're still friends!) or even c. Debate the periodic table with you the whole time in the middle of ppl dancing XD, though I think now that's straying off what you're talking about (but seriously, this is what happens when you invite one of your old friends to a new school and you have nothing else to do but talk, but it was so delightful to talk about something so nerdy at an event that's totally the opposite of nerdy bc at my new school basically everyone just talks about boys or outfits or hair or makeup or how horrible the teachers are (ok, not all the time, but enough to be annoying, and someone else way older than me who I also know coming out of my old school and going to my new school also had this problem with her friends XD!! So idk what that says about private vs public schools, if anything at all, I think it's just the person... but sorta funny to think about) and ugh does no one want to debate the periodic table with me?? :) )

And haha I translated the mandarin wrong, it's actually called "xue mso jiao" (the song) and it doesn't mean "snow cat", like I said, it means "learn to meow" or "learn cat meow" which is so different but makes more sense oops... and this is why I'm failing Chinese school XD (for context, "snow" and "learn" in Mandarin are both spelled "xue")

Yup, busy life, life is busy, bzz bzz bzz bzz bzz :) though not as busy as other ppl Ik, plus today and yesterday I actually got stuff done so it wasn't so busy! Yay! :)

Hmm I'm pretty sure I named all the clubs... somewhere here... but basically the ones that take up the most of my time rn are

a. Satirical newspaper

b. Orchestra (it's sorta like a club)

c. Dance (though that's on hold while soccer season's going on)

What about the orchestra? :) but yeah Orchestra starts EARLY so I have to wake up at 5am every week and then there are concerts and rehearsal and all that good stuff :) I'm pretty sure I asked you this before, but forgot, do you play any instruments?

I don't think there's necessarily an age limit, but I think ppl start being less active as they get older bc life gets busier... :( but I suppose it's a good thing too, I wouldn't want my whole life to just be staring at a screen in a virtual world disconnected from irl things (though I don't know about you)

Ha, my poor room getting blamed for my own messiness! :) my teacher's really nice though, even being super strict, and even though I can't understand like half of what she says bc she doesn't know that much English (she LOVES chocolate though, I think you do too? Once she told us (in Mandarin oc, I'm doing my best to translate it) "you kids should not be like me! One day I went to my doctor and my doctor told me that I was not eating healthy and asked me what I had been eating, and I said that, well, for dinner I like to eat chocolate!, and my doctor said oh, no! That is not good for you! And I-" and then yeah after that I couldn't understand any of it :) we were doing a lesson on eating healthy btw), but I really like her, she's a great teacher (and I'm a bad student, funny how that works (wait how does that work?)) it's especially awesome bc she was a high school teacher in Tai Wan or China (I forget) and she's always correcting the textbook (like, no! That's bad grammar! That's a run on sentence! Everyone, put a semicolon here! XD)

uhh yeahhh I just asked just in case and cuz I'm paranoid like that and thought hm I feel like you should hate me now bc I have not been responding and that's bad (hence I am now trying to frantically respond quicker bc my brain blech) :/ but glad to know you don't!
