So, I have been seing these word threads alot on here latley, and I have wanted to start this thread for a while, so, here is the concept:
Every day I post a word I have heard that day or the day before that I was interested in, like the sound of, was interested by the meaning etc.. Along with the word I post the sentence I heard/read the word in, and the dictionary definition of the word. I will do my best to do this every day, but some days I may not be able to.
I would also love to see your words if you want to share them. I may expand on this idea or add more to the word decriptions, but for now, this is it. Shall we begin?
Day 1, January 19, 2022
Word: Convulse
Sentence: The silver worm bug ... thing cunvulsed violently, heart beating unhealthily fast. (From short story: The four T days)
Dictionary Definition: (of a person) suffer violent involuntary contraction of the muscles, producing contortion of the body or limbs.

Khmer (pronouced KAH-M-I):
A denomination of peoples in Southeast Asia, specifically Cambodia.
About 80-90% of the population in Cambodia are Khmer.
That's what happens when I'm told to make a slide show for Cambodia in Social Studies class...
