So, I have been seing these word threads alot on here latley, and I have wanted to start this thread for a while, so, here is the concept: 

Every day I post a word I have heard that day or the day before that I was interested in, like the sound of, was interested by the meaning etc.. Along with the word I post the sentence I heard/read the word in, and the dictionary definition of the word. I will do my best to do this every day, but some days I may not be able to.

I would also love to see your words if you want to share them. I may expand on this idea or add more to the word decriptions, but for now, this is it. Shall we begin?

 

Day 1, January 19, 2022

Word: Convulse

Sentence: The silver worm bug ... thing cunvulsed violently, heart beating unhealthily fast. (From short story: The four T days) 

Dictionary Definition: (of a person) suffer violent involuntary contraction of the muscles, producing contortion of the body or limbs.

Oh, yess..... I LOVE this word. (Is that concerning?) It's a spindiddly word, in my opinion. Also, funny sentence! :)

Oh I love that word too! When I saw this thread, I immediatly thought of it! 

Mahatma: A person (in South Asia) refered to with reverense or loving respect. 

"Then, he began the first substantial civil rights protest, inspired by Mahatma (Mohandas) Ghandi." (A project for the School Newspaper E and I are writing)

Meaning: Being out of touch, disconnected, isolated. 

Marlo was out incommunicado while she was camping, for her camp site had no cell connection.
