i slam the driver’s car door shut and walk around my beautiful, green minivan to join my AEs. I check my phone to make sure I have the right park. This is my first party as a CBer and I don’t want to mess it up. “Why are you the one who drives again? Aren’t you only 13?” Cameron says, looking a tad flustered. “Because I can do what ever I want, thank you very much.” I retort. I am a the perfect driver. I look at the large area of green in front of me and it is gorgeous. I look to my AEs. “Why did I have to come again? I could be reading. Or doing something that doesn’t rely on interaction with beings.” Adrian complains. *because it’s a PARTAY, Adrian. My first party, in fact. DALLAS IN THE HOOUSE!* “This is our chance to meet people, Adrian. I don’t know anyone besides PygmyOwl, and I’d like to get to know some more. Dallas, be quiet. I don’t need that.” I sigh. Heavily. This is going to be a long night. I already had to change my costume for something that ACTUALLY fit, which was very annoying. I didn’t need questions on top of questions also. “Let’s go, shall we?” Aspen says, obviously sensing the awkawardness. “Sure. Why not? I’m not nervous.” I say, as I nervously chuckle. “Okay. Come on!” Aspen says, grabbing my arm and pulling. Cameron, Adrian, Dallas, and Evan follow as we run towards what looks like the pavilion. I don’t see anyone there, yet. I sit on a bench and my AE’s follow. Adrian pulls out their book to read, Dallas plays a drum solo on the table (which to be quite honest is quite annoying), Cameron scrolls through her phone, I have no clue what Evan is doing, and Aspen sits cheerfully, looking around the park. And we just wait for someone to arrive.

I get out of NerdFace’s car, rather shaken. I don’t know why I let her drive. She comes around to our side. “Why are you the one who drives again? Aren’t you only 13?” I question. She looks at me like I’M the idiot and says, “Because I can do whatever I want, thank you very much.” What a great answer. Whatever. I’m at a party. I should relax. “Why did I have to come again? I could be reading. Or doing something that doesn’t rely on interaction with beings.” Adrian complains. Dallas responds with, *because it’s a PARTAY, Adrian. My first party, in fact. DALLAS IN THE HOOUSE* “This is our chance to meet people, Adrian. I don’t know anyone besides PygmyOwl, and I’d like to get to know some more. Dallas, be quiet. I don’t need that.” NerdFace responds, with a heavy sigh. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have siblings. But I don’t know what I would do with out them. We have a party in the first month we have been here and I’m so excited. As I’m about to drift into a daydream, Aspen says, “Let’s go, shall we?” I nod. “Sure. Why not? I’m not nervous.” NerdFace says as she nervously chuckles. What the irony. I think. “Okay. Come on!” Aspen grabs Nerd’s arm and pulls her towards the park. I grab Adrian, who grabs Dallas, who grabs Evan and we run with them. We stop at a bench at a pavilion and we all sit down. I look around. It doesn’t seem like we should be doing anything, yet, so I pull out my phone and check social media. And we just wait for someone to show up.

I climb out of the backseat of NerdFace’s minivan, pulling Adrian with me, after probably the ride of my life. We let her drive, and I think she can drive better than me. I scan the park, which looks rather empty, and I get nervous. Maybe we’re at the wrong place. Nerd seems to deny that as she doesn’t say anything after checking her phone. “Why are you the one who drives again?” My 17-year-old sister says. She looks quite flustered, which is hilarious. Nerd retorts with “Because I can do whatever I want, thank you very much.” I suppress a laugh. That is the best response. I look at Adrian. They look nervous. They’re not a huge people person. “Why did I have to come again? I could be reading. Or doing something that doesn’t rely on interaction with beings.” Adrian complains, nervously. I feel bad for him. They’ve had it rough. *because it’s a PARTAY, Adrian. My first party, in fact. DALLAS IN THE HOOUSE* I try my hardest not to laugh at him. I don’t need Dallas like this. He’s already too much. “This is our chance to meet people, Adrian. I don’t know anyone besides PygmyOwl, and I’d like to get to know some more. Dallas, be quiet. I don’t need that.” NerdFace sighs, heavily afterwards. She’s nervous, I can tell. She is fading into the introverted side of her personality. I can’t let that happen. “Let’s go, shall we?” I question. “Sure. Why not? I’m not nervous.” She nervously chuckles afterwards. Aha! “Okay. Come on!” I grab her arm and pull her towards what I think the pavilion is. My siblings follow behind. We stop at a bench, sit down, and I wait for someone to arrive.

I don’t want to go to this party. I want to read, or write, or watch Hamilton for the tenth time, but I don’t have a choice. Aspen literally yanks me out of the car. My arm hurts now. I notice that I’m still standing in the door frame when Dallas kicks my knees in so I almost collapse. I move forward and ignore him. “Why are you the one who drives again?” Cameron asks. Clearly, she didn’t like NerdFace driving. “Because I can do whatever I want, thank you very much.” Then, I remember that I don’t want to be her. I decide to try and complain. Maybe that will work. “Why did I have to come again? I could be reading. Or doing something that doesn’t rely on interactions with beings.” I did bring a book, but reading in a party doesn’t really go well. *because it’s a PARTAY, Adrian.* I tune him out for whatever he says next. I very much dislike Dallas. “This is our chance to meet people, Adrian. I don’t know anyone besides PygmyOwl, and I’d like to get to know some more. Dallas, be quiet. I don’t need that.” NerdFace responds. I immediately forget who PygmyOwl is. I guess I’ll find out. “Let’s go, shall we?” Aspen asks. I nod, but it’s a very slow nod. “Okay. Come on!” Aspen grabs NerdFace and they run to the pavilion. Cameron grabs my arm and I grab Dallas’s and Dallas grabs Evan. We run, too. I dislike running, but I guess I’ll run. We finally stop at a bench and I sit down immediately. I pull out, To Kill A Mockingbird and try to read while Dallas bangs on the table trying to make music. And I ignore him.

*I’m trying to get out of the car, but Adrian is blocking the outside. Coward. This is a party. He needs to let loose. I kick his knees in and he barely moves. But it’s enough to get out. I turn around and help Evan out and we join the others.* “Why are you the one who drives again?” *My oldest sister asks NerdFace. I think her driving was awesome. Oh wait. She can’t hear my thoughts. Her driving was terrible.* “Because I can do what ever I want, thank you very much.” She says. If she can do whatever, I can do whatever. We are the same age, after all. Then, I remember why we are here. THERE IS A PARTAY TO BE AT. Now I’m actually excited.* “Why did I have to come again? I could be reading. Or doing something that doesn’t rely on interactions with beings.” I did bring a book, but reading in a party doesn’t really go well.” *That dork doesn’t understand the meaning of fun, do they.* “*because it’s a PARTAY, Adrian. My first party, in fact. DALLAS IN THE HOOUSE!*” I say. I wonder if there is a basketball court. Maybe I could get some practice in. NerdFace says something to Adrian, but I don’t pay attention. Then I hear my name.* “Dallas, be quiet. I don’t need that.” She says. *How rude. I am amazing. I am superior. I don’t get told to be quiet.* “Let’s go, shall we?” My sister, Aspen, says. *I’ve been ready this whole time.* “Okay. Come on!” She shouts. *Next thing I know, Adrian is pulling my arm. I grab ahold of Evan and we run to the pavilion thingy. These losers are slow. I sit down and the bench and decide to bang on the table and make noise because, why not? And just like that, we are waiting. I despise waiting.*

<I’m 10 years old and for some reason my siblings trust me at a party. I can barely see out of my helmet that I’m wearing. Someone grabs my arm and helps me out of the car. I try to look around, but all I can see is hazy orange and blurry images. Maybe this helmet wasn’t the best idea. I think Cameron said something, but it was so muffled, I didn’t understand. I try to pull the helmet off my head, but it’s stuck. NerdFace says something, but I miss out on that, too. I want to scream. I want to cry. I want to be upset like a little baby. I’m 10 now. 10 year olds don’t do that. Adrian complains about something. Then, someone says something that I can actually understand. Because it was Dallas. Yelling at the top of his lungs.> “*… PARTAY …… DALLAS IN THE HOOUSE.*” <Typical Dallas. NerdFace says something again, which I can’t hear. What is in this helmet! I can’t hear, I can barely see, and I can’t get it off. Aspen says something, Nerd replies, and then Aspen says something again. Next thing I know, someone is pulling me and I am running. I stop when I run into a bench and I sit down. I try fiercely to get the helmet off. I wonder if I am going to meet anyone today. That would be fun. I keep pulling. I must look insane. I give up and I wait for someone to realize.

I step off the dragon, sliding down the wing majestically. I've decided to be an ice princess thingie instead. Galaxy, Ocean, Burn, Ibi, and Gio follow. "Come on guys, we're almost laaate!" complains Burn, rushing through the grass hurridley. Galaxy facepalms herself, and yells after him,"You'll be sorry!" I sigh and heave the food onto a rolling table. Ibi nudges it toward a regular picnic table, and pushes it onto the table. <there> <ugooi>, she says. I smile and let her run off, and Gio curles up in a grass thing. I spot another new CBer, Nerdface, and rush off towards her. "Hi NerdFace!" I greet, panting. 

---Galaxy---

I follow Nightfall off the white dragon, and pet it's head. "Sorry Waterfall, we need to go." She replies, +thats+ +okkii+ I smiled and listen to Burn complain, and yell after him, "YOU'LL BE SORRY!!" I facepalm myself, and float off dreamily towards the other AEs, probably NerdFace's. Nightfall went to 'associate' with NerdFace.

I yell and jump off Waterfall. "COME ON GUYS WERE ALMOST LATE!" I yell as I run to the table. I munch on a ghost cookie while I wait.

I sigh and float off the dragon in a wave of water, then rush over to the AEs and Galaxy.

Diana spreads out the last tablecloth and hurries over to join Georgia and Arrow at the AE pavilion, and not a moment too soon - I can see our guests pouring into the park. I guess it's time to welcome everyone to the party.
I walk out of the pavilion, stand on a table, and pick up a conviniently placed microphone.  
"Hello everyone!" I shout, and the mic returns with horrible feedback. I cringe, and try again. "Welcome to our 2020 Halloween party! It's going to be a night full of tricks, treats, and fun activities! In case you haven't noticed, we've got a spookiful haunted house-" I gesture to the tall house that looks like it could fall on us at any moment. "We've also got a massive corn maze, for anyone who wants to try it out. And of course, we have our giant buffet tables. We're prepared to have a ton of fun!" But I'm obviously not prepared to make a welcome speech that's not cringey. I decide to wrap it up as soon as I can. "The costume contest will be in an hour, and I'll give you more details on it then. I hope you all have a ton of fun! Now let's party!" 
Phew, thank goodness that's over. I stuff a cupcake in my mouth and see some friends coming my way. 
"Hey guys!" I say, cupcake crumbs flying out of my mouth.

I’m so nervous that I don’t even notice a giant dragon fly in. My AEs have drifted to the AE pavilion and left me all by my lonesome. I hear people shouting and I assume it is just people here to enjoy the park. I check my phone. The party should start soon, but I still don’t see anyone here. Suddenly, there is someone who I vaguely recognize. I believe her name is Nightfall. “Hi NerdFace!” She says, out of breath. “Hi, Nightfall. Do call me Nerd. I absolutely love your costume! How are you today?”

I’m rudely stolen from instagram when a giant dragon lands in the park. I see a CBer, 3 AEs and 2 CAPTCHAs dismount from the dragon. The girl who is obviously a CBer runs over to NerdFace. The AEs begin to come our way. I stand up from where I’m sitting and walk over to greet them. “Hi there. I’m Cameron, that’s Aspen, Adrian, Dallas, and Evan. What are your names?” I say, as I hold out my hand.

I almost gasp when I see a dragon land in the park. A real life dragon. HERE. 4 beings and 2 CAPTCHAs dismount the dragon. One goes over to Nerd. The CAPTCHAs curl up in the grass and the AEs start to drift over to where we are. Cameron stands up and waits for them to reach her. “Hi there. I’m Cameron, that’s Aspen, Adrian, Dallas, and Evan. What are your names?” She says. I wave slightly when she says my name. I feel Evan grab my shirt and hide behind me. I let him stay. New people! I’m so excited.

The book I’m reading is starting to get good. It’s had to been at least 15 minutes since we got here. I look up and search the park when I see figures dismounting this giant dragon. Oh no. People are here. Oh no, oh no, oh no. I suddenly get even more nervous. ‘Relax Adrian, it’s okay. Not everyone is going to throw basketballs at you like Dallas. It’s okay. Meet some people.’ A voice in my head says. I notice Cameron stand to greet AEs coming our way. “Hi there. I’m Cameron, that’s Aspen, Adrian, Dallas, and Evan. What are your names?” She says, extending her hand. I feel my face grow hot and I hide behind my book. Maybe they won’t see me behind the comforting pages in my alternate universe. And then I notice I’m staring and I grow even more hot. I hide farther in my book and pretend I don’t exist.

*OH. MY. GOODNESS. THERE. IS. A. REAL. LIFE. DRAGON. IN. THE. PARK. Six figures dismount the dragon and they split, almost immediately. One goes over to, ahem, NERD, two beings who appear to be animals stay in the grass area, and three AEs approach us in the pavilion. None of them look my age at all, but maybe someone will throw the football with me or something. Or I could just throw basketballs at Adrian. That would be fun. I watch Cameron stand.* “Hi there. I’m Cameron, that’s Aspen, Adrian, Dallas, and Evan. What are your names?” She says. When she says my name, I throw a peace sign and try to act cool. I hope I’m not coming off as arrogant.

I’ve managed to get my helmet off, but not without it shattering. Dallas banged on my head with a steel pipe until it broke. I believe he enjoyed it, but I didn’t. My head is all sore and fuzzy. I black things out at times, but it doesn’t matter that much. I’ve just recovered from a blackout when I realize there are 3 AEs coming over and none of them look 10. They look about Cameron’s age. “Hi there. I’m Cameron, that’s Aspen, Adrian, Dallas, and Evan. What are your names?” As she says my name, I find their gaze land on me. I immediately get scared and shy. I’m 10, what do you expect?! As sly as I can be, I get up and I hide behind Aspen, holding onto her shirt, and pretending I’m not actually there.
