I do that a little bit too. Not with book characters, I usually make up my own characters, but recently the only way I've been able to fall asleep at night is imagining stories out in my head where I'm the main character.
And @LikeI'mTelling, pretty much all of us on the CB have imaginary friends, also known as AEs. I know it's not exactly the same, since we put it into writing, but I often "do stuff" with my AEs, both the ones on the CB and off, and I guess it's a lot like having an imaginary friend. For half of the year last year, my AE Abcde sat next to me in an empty chair in ELA. People sat on her a lot, though, which was annoying. (I'm looking at you, NerdFace. You did it at least once.)

Yes!!!!! It also helps me fall asleep and I do make up my own characters most of the time!

Thanks for that Morning. Sometimes i feel insecure and i also do it only where i meet book characters. I literally can't fall asleep if i don't to that. BTW CB is a great place to meet nice people like you.

You're welcome. I know that it can make you feel uncomfortable or insecure to be the only person who does something like that, or likes a certain thing, and that's why the CB is so great. It has helped me see that there are other people as weird, crazy, awesome and creative as I am out in the world, and that's why I love it. <3

I do that too! When I was taking the PSATs I imagined my AEs helping me through it. I physically visualize them there and it's very comforting.

I'm so sad that CICADA was stopped. I remember seeing the CICADA symbol in my old Cricket mags as a little kid and being so excited for when I would be old enough to get it. I just now found out it isn't continued anymore. I love Cricket but I'm getting to an age where it isn't as fun anymore. I know there are other mags more for my age group but I loved Cicadas' unique look and concept.

Sometimes CBers will post something that people generally disagree with- that's fine. People on the CB are very respectful when they disagree with something or politely critique something. However, my problem is that sometimes (very rarely) when CBers don't like the kind of attention their post it getting they get super defensive and say that this is "why they want to leave" and basically guilt people into agreeing with them. And it basically always works. Like I said, this rarely happens, but it's super annoying when it does.

So...I'm not always happy with myself, my body, my work, my writing, drawing, etc. I don't feel flatterd or feel like i always deserve people compliments.

Oh hey, same here! I haven't been able to figure it out since I first came out. It's totally fine to be unsure! You might figure it out later, or discover something else about yourself, or stick with this opinion. Any way is fine!

I just found this thread and I think it's so cool that people can come here for help from fellow CBers. People here are very kind :)
@Whispering: Everyone is going through some uncertain times, but just remember that no matter what, you are an amazing person and you deserve all of the compliments that you get. There is a quote that I like that says: 'There will always be someone who doubts you. Don't let that someone be yourself'. Remember that people here care about you and think you are perfect the way you are ;)
