Yeah, I have an awesome friend who’s a boy. Taking Spiff seriously is not a great tactic, but I understand your point. No one said that boys are terrible. Girls do rule, though ;)

Yeah, exactly. Boys rule. Girls rule. Gender equality. :)

I agree completely. In the Bible it does say that women should obey their husbands, but also that men should care for their wives. Happily equal. :)

I disagree that is ‘perfectly equall’ It isn’t. ‘Women should obey’ their husbands. Uhh, no. Nobody should have to ‘obey’ anybody. I’m not saying your religion is wrong, just that that is not ‘perfectly equal’ I mean, obey? And men need to ‘care for’ there wives?

does that honestly sound equal?

I hate to derail the purpose of this thread completely, but that . . . isn't equal at all? I'm not trying to bash the Bible, but that sounds sexist. It provides the idea that women rely on men. Sure, it sounds nice in theory, but by saying "women should obey their husbands, and husbands must care for their wives," you are putting ALL the power in the hands of the husband. All women have to do is sit back and be submissive while their husbands go out and actually live a full life. If you'd prefer to be a housewife, and don't want to work, that's totally fine and I respect that decision. But implying that every woman has to do that is sexist.

No, that's not what it means at all. God may have wanted to have that distinction because naturally born females are weaker than naturally born (healthy) men of the same age, therefore it would be beneficial for both if the woman did her part and the man his, the man having the tougher work like (historically) hunting.

However, for more modern families, the most simple explanation would be that both members of a marriage are supposed to play their parts (the man being the head of the marriage but still consulting his wife in decisions [therefore respecting her] and the woman respecting her husband in the same way). Had I given the context, both you, ... and ~, would have understood better and not acted the way you did.

PLUS! I did not say 'perfectly equal'. I said 'happily equal'.

And could you refrain from things like 'Ummmm, no.' and 'ALL the power'? You're twisting the meaning and making me feel like you think I'm an imbecille, which, I can assure you, I am not. Logically, it's called a 'Straw Man' fallacy. Biblically, the man should still consult his wife in decisions, and so should the woman. I'd be willing to continue on a different thread, if you need more.
